To this day, I still don't know what Overwatch even is. Maybe I'll look sometime before May. I'll be all over getting DOOM, might even get the LE statue. I'll be passing on UC4, as I haven't played the others. The first month or so of my PS4 ownership will probably be an exclusive buffet of baseball, then I might get The Nathan Drake Collection, if I have nothing else to play. Batlleborn was a dumb mess in the beta, I though. I felt that they made little effort to express what you were even doing. Since there are so many FPS options on my XB1's HDD and coming this year, I will pass.
It's TF2 but with more selectable characters, they have sorta Moba-ish abilities.

Was wondering when they'd add new titles like Doom, with a $10 reward certificate. The month of May feels like a long time from now though, will wait to preorder as late as I can.

Its likely done. Lets be honest their deals have been pretty bad so far and their trade in values have been terrible the past few months.

Yeah I really do think it will be phased out after the last batch of games releases. Not much incentive for it when Gamestop is giving a whole dollar back, lol.

For what it's worth, two different Best Buy's have told me the $10 reward certificate is done. While I usually never believe anything their employees say, they may be right. It's odd the games you mentioned have none.

Farewell bestbuy $10 preorder promo
Hey guys, Overwatch and Doom got added!!

I was never a big Starcraft guy but when has Blizzard EVER made a bad game? Everyone playing over watch beta can't get enough

This is a no brainier - glad there's a console version

Sorry battle born no one gives a flight fuck

Battleborn was developed by Gearbox Software who are prominently known for making Borderlands.

Lots of folks are interested in it. :shame:

Battleborn has co-op campaign and PVP.

While Overwatch is soley PVP.

:whistle2:k

Just saying.

I'm excited to see Doom added to $10 cert; preordered it on day one. The only thing that makes me second guess is the odd emphasis on multiplayer in all the pre-release trailers. Deathmatch has always been fun but I hope there is a solid and meaty single player experience.

I heard Overwatch had a subscription fee...is that right?
no fee, its b2p and you can buy skins, cosmetics, etc like every FPS game nowadays. As someone said, its basically an updated Team Fortress 2 with a few MOBA-ish team and super abilities, but basically fast paced multiplayer FPS game. Its fun, unless you hate MP games. There is no single player campaign or mode, but little stories behind each character.

you can see it in action on twitch from the few thousand beta players

At the same time, WoW has long been unbalanced and messy, and its last expansion was a dumpster fire. So, if WoW can't balance its 10 classes in PvP, do people trust Blizzard to make a balanced PvP experience with even more characters?

Like WoW above, I thought Borderlands fell off a cliff. I liked the first. I didn't like the characters in the second, and playing the third was pretty much just boring, and the humor had kind of worn out its welcome for me. Besides, having a campaign doesn't mean it has a good one. Halo 5's campaign was a meaningless joke, and that's from a person whose standards aren't high for campaign and someone who loves the Halo franchise.

Never said it was better but it's something to considering if one was choosing between Overwatch and Battleborn instead of picking up both.

While campaign isn't everything there are some folks who prefer co-op campaign as oppose to competitive pvp so I figured it was worth mentioning if folks were considering picking it up. (I said it had Campaign not that it was good)

I personally happen to like Borderlands 2, Pre-sequel was meh. I loved Tales of Borderland (although that's more on part of TellTale then Gearbox)

I was mostly addressing FlyingMonkey9's broad statement that no one is interested in the game. O:)

yeah, doom I don't see multiplayer unless it co-op. Also I don't know much about this doom at all and was thinking of it. Only pre ordered now for the $10 cert.

I honestly didn't know what Overwatch was so I looked up some gameplay and that is definitely a pass for me. The 3 games on the list so far are a pass unfortunately.

Just give me Mirrors Edge Catalyst and Deux Ex MD and I'm good. Shit I'll just take one.

Most likely no on those.
Preorder the game through Amazon to get a pair of Beta codes to get a taste of the game in early May.

There's an open beta as well. The pre-order just lets you in 2 days early. If I remember, I'll give it a try then, but I don't foresee how I will manage to care about it with DOOM out right before. 2 new PvP shooters just isn't in the cards for me.

Yep I'll try Doom and Overwatch betas but I know I'll be deep in UC4 multiplayer for the month of May. It still is nice knowing so many games are dropping during the typical slow summer months.

I'm amazed that people play uncharted multiplayer. They are above average single player games but just could never get into the multi player

Not directly related but if anyone had a long-standing pre-order for SMTxFE they transitioned the pre-order from the old SKU that's dead to the new one.

Far too many games I want coming out in the span of a month, all with decent pvp too.

Dark Souls 3

Uncharted 4

Doom 3

Overwatch

Slow it down!

i hope they can do better than a lego game going fwd. the $10 gcu rwd had always been for AAA games, hope they do not start a down spiral of adding mass appeal/casual games.

I feel like they are only adding games with struggling pre-order sales.
Why would they add titles that aren't struggling? The reason promos, bonuses, and sales exist is to increase sales of products that aren't moving and/or to increase interest in said product(s). They aren't to make customers happy simply for the sake of seeing them smile.

Or to get the lions share of a popular games sales. That's why all the big games (COD, BF, ect.) get the $$$CERTS$$$

That was then, and it was to drum interest in GCU/get people to think of Best Buy as a gaming destination. I am all for AAA games being on the list, in fact I want them to be there. But looking at it from a non-CAG/consumer perspective it doesn't make a ton of sense.

Overwatch beta coming may 3-9th (first two days preorders), i'm gonna try the beta but probably cancel my preorder.  I already have two great MP games in black ops 3 and battlefront (ok second one is not so great), and everyone so far says Overwatch is far more reliant on having good teams who work together well and well... thats like the rarest thing I've ever seen when I solo queue for MP games.

yeah I could try to make friends and organize and shit but I play video games to relax, not turn into a second job

Lego game being added is surprising as I don't think Lego games have ever been part of this promotion.

At least best buy is still doing the $10 preorders as I thought batttleborn be it and they can it.
