I've started going digital with my games in the past few years so these ads aren't as exciting as they used to be. But I do plan to pick up some 4K movies on sale.

TV recommendations from ad? Looking to upgrade to a large 4k TV
Pick yourself up a LG C8 65".

4K OLED HDR TV of a full 65 inches of glory. A real man will be spending $2,100 for this TV.

After you get your TV you'll have to strap on your testicles and get yourself a 7.1

or 5.1.2 surround system (Dolby Atmos)

I got an LG OLED last year. Can't go back to a regular TV now.
I honestly do have this problem. I got a Samsung KS8000 for one room and loved it. When my kid broke another TV in a different room I used it as an excuse to upgrade to the LG OLED and now when I watch the KS8000 (or other TV's too) it feels like the TV is broken because it doesn't look as good.

Black Friday deals on televisions are usually the entry level sets from various manufacturers. If you are serious about quality of picture and features, you have to spend at least twice the amount (bare minimum) of any BF TV set. I tend to buy the higher end televisions because how picky I am and its a purchase I am willing to spend more on for quality and I expect it to last for years before I sink more money into another set.

The best TV deals aren't on Black Friday anyway. Wait until the rest of the year and you'll get greater deals.

Maybe the 65 inch Sony X900F will drop to $1500, if it does, grab it. Great TV. Right now, it's $1800 Or maybe the Vizio P Series Quantum will drop to $1500(also 65 inch). It was $1700 a month ago, right now it's $2100, it could drop again. Another highly regarded TV. Or one of the Samsung Q8FN or Q9FN, though I doubt they hit $1500. Unless you are hung up on OLED.

If you don't care a ton about picture quality, you could get the lesser Samsung Q6FN now. 65 inch for $1300 or so, but it's not as good as the TVs I mentioned. I'd just wait for one of the ones I mentioned to get a little lower and grab them. Maybe Cyber Monday or later holiday deals.

I am going to eventually get an OLED for my living room. Are they prone to burn in at all? I will mostly use it for my gaming with some movie watching once in awhile.

$1500

But flexible -- I dont want to spend the $2500 for OLED.
You'll spend $1500 but not an extra $600 for a 4K OLED HDR TV that will last you 6+ years?

Last time the 65" model was on sale for $2,000. (refurbished) It will probably hit that again this Black Friday.

I payed $2100 for my 65" C8 (NEW) for reference.

The 55" model was on sale for $1300 (refurbished).

You could always pick up the 55" model for around your $1500 price range instead.

Visual wise I would never use an LED or QLED TV. OLED will look better, just like Plasmas did before.

Here's a deal from 4 days ago. Now expired where the 55" LG E8 (same as C8 but has better in-tv speakers which I have no need for) was going for $1500.

https://slickdeals.net/f/12190939-call-in-order-lg-4k-tv-65-oled65e8pua-2249-55-oled55e8pua-1497-until-6-30pm-est-free-s-h

I'd expect Black Friday to have a deal again on one of these tv's.

I game on my PC but the input lag on the LG C8 is very reasonable.

Golden, how did you pay $2,000 for a new C8, besides gray market? The best I saw last year was $2,100 for a brand new B7 from a major retailer, which is an authorized LG provider. That's when I grabbed mine.

If you have $1500 to burn you're really doing yourself a disservice by not going a bit further and getting an OLED, especially since since 65B8 or 55C8 can be had for ~$1500 already (without tax or shipping). I don't like spending too much time on slickdeals but if you look around there you'll find good OLED deals pretty regularly. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about authorized dealers as long as the seller is reputable.

I got mine off of Slickdeals from an EBAY seller. Came with the offical warranty and was a U.S. model. If you check out Slickdeals there's been quite a bit of sales for the LG C8/LG E8 for $2100-$2300.

They've been throwing them out like hot cakes.

BuyDig has been doing a lot of deals.

Did they alter the game selection since they originally posted it this morning?  I'm pretty sure when I was browsing it this morning after waking up, that Lego DC Villains Deluxe for Switch was shown for $40.  It's even in the OP.  But I can't seem to find it anywhere in their ad now.  I was really hoping the price might be the same for the PS4 version too, but now that it's not even listed, I don't know what to think.

Starlink for $35? Count me in! I'm a sucker for Star Fox but wasn't going to pay $75 for it. I'm digital only this generation but that Arwing is way too neat to pass up. It also looks like my 4K collection will get another boost x_x

Thanks for pointing this one out! Reminded me I need a hard drive for my PS4 since I just picked up Red Dead.

Looking at Dragon Quest and AC:Odyessy (but really waiting for the Gold edition to drop) other than that and the PSN deal. Not much I’m jonesing for.

Now available for $79.99 from BF ad.

OLED TVs definitely have the best picture quality, but if you’re worried about burn in or don’t have that extra $700 to $1000 to spare(depending on size and model) there’s nothing wrong with an LCD. The jump in quality is noticeable, but it’s not like going from standard def to 1080p for the first time or anything IMO. Nor is going from 1080 to 4K. Some people just don’t have that extra $700 to spare.

I like my X900F just fine and with it already $1800, I could see it hitting $1500 or $1600 in another sale soon.

All depends on what you want out of a TV and your financial situation.

OLED TVs have burn in?

OLED TVs have burn in?
Yeah, all tech and review sites acknowledge this now. Some of them have permanent burn in. Some temporary. If you’re diligent I’m sure it won’t be an issue, but if you are someone who falls asleep when gaming or whatever or pauses and leaves the room, maybe invest in LCD.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am considering this tv:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-75-class-led-nu8000-series-2160p-smart-4k-uhd-tv-with-hdr/6208235.p?skuId=6208235&ref=194&loc=1

I’m not sold on the additional $1000 for the 65 LG OLED...
Should I reconsider?

Want the tv for mostly gaming.
Are you looking specifically for 75 inches?

The Sony X900F and Vizio P Series Quantum are better TVs, but for that price you'll have to go 65 inches.

That TV is a good TV, it's just a tier or half tier below those.

If you really want a TV right now, that's not a bad one to get. But if you're cool waiting, you can get a tier better TV at 75 inches if that's what you absolutely want probably in a few months for right around that price. Once the new year hits, the 2018 best models will start to be discounted as the 2019 models come in.

Shadow Assassin has offered the best, most pragmatic advice. I have an OLED C6. It ... was expensive. It's also amazing. But if you have fear of image retention and/or burn-in, don't get one.

Likewise, don't break the bank. Buy the best you can comfortably afford. $1500 will get you a damn good LED.

I have both a B7A OLED and Sony X900E and I'll tell you the OLED is just crazy nice. If you can swing one comfortably then you'll love it, but current LEDs are still good too if it's more affordable.

Yeah, if what he wants is 75 inches, I'd wait til February or March so and see if the 75 inch X900F, or the Samsung Q8 and Q9FN's discount in price.

If you absolutely want one now and need 75 inches, the Samsung NU8000 isn't a bad choice at all. But I think you'd be settling for a tier below what you could get for a comparable price in a few months.

After seeing OLED has burn in issues, I think my next television will be the Sony X900F. The reviews are glowing and it seems to have everything I am looking for. I have had Samsung tvs for years and will go back to Sony after reading about this model.

I bought the X900F earlier this year. I narrowed my choice down to that, the Samsung Q8 and Q9F and the Vizio P Series Quantum. I decided on the Sony. Not because it had the best reviews, but it was the best combination of price and features. It's a very good TV. The only downside to it really is HDMI ports 2 and 3 are the only ones that support full 4k HDR. So if you have several devices that will support that, you may need an HDMI splitter or something. I personally don't, so it wasn't a drawback for me.

It also really good apps and features with android OS built in.

It's good right out of the box with no calibration. It's a really nice TV for the price.

Thanks ShadowAssassin for the input. I actually have two HDMI splitters as I have up to 10 game systems running on my current tv. Never really seen what true HDR looks like on a 4k set. Something to look forward to when I can find the 65" on a good sale.

You'll need to get a splitter that supports full 4k HDR at 60hz, I don't think regular splitters will work. I mean, they will work work, but you won't get the full 4k HDR. For the full HDR experience, you'll need a little better HDMI cables than your standard. Not that not having one will totally screw up your picture or anything, but you won't get the best out of it. You can get them on amazon cheap for like $10. Not the splitter, the cables.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GCGKI3O/

You won't need one though for gaming, as if you have the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, they come with the HDMI cables you need. But you'll need one of those if you are using other 4k HDR devices that don't have the right cables.

I just looked at my splitters I bought earlier this year and they are 4k @30hz. (or at least that is what the seller says on Amazon) Guess I will have to buy some better splitters and maybe some more HDMI cables. Its going to be a nightmare hooking all the devices up again as there is just a huge mess behind the entertainment center with all the HDMI and power cables everywhere.

I got the ks8000 too. I like the pic. But it's going to be very very hard not to upgrade to an oled tv.

Just double-checked my collection and it was indeed the gold edition so either Target had a time machine or maybe the release date info is wrong? I distinctly remember having to hunt a copy down because they had placed all the games that were $15 in men's clothing of all things.
Target has a history of merging identification normal/gold editions of games. Usually this is an Ubisoft game (e.g., the gold version scanning as a regular version and the regular version price/sale).

I don't remember the sales from last year, but maybe you were the beneficiary of a happy accident.

I'm all in on OLED. My Vita is OLED. My laptop is OLED. My TV is OLED. My next computer monitor will be OLED. Whenever that is. I don't even know if there are any good OLED monitors available now. Especially since I want ultra wide.

I hear ya. I have 1000 series vita and a 2000 series vita. I play the 1000 almost exclusively. Also have 2 TVs, 1 Panasonic plasma and 1 LG OLED and love both. You get used to the deep blacks and the realistic picture you see.

Also, as someone who watches tv programs with static logos on the screen and pauses games for very long periods of time, if anyone would get burn in it's me. My OLED never has. My plasma did a few years ago but it was only temporary and was completely gone in a week. So I pay no mind to the "drawback" of OLED.

If any are in the market though, and are going to be paranoid about that, prob be best served going samsung QLED. That is a great tv for sure and no need to worry about usage. The sony series mentioned above really nice too
