Best Buy Black Friday Question

Duckbutt

CAGiversary!
*I'm not sure where this, goes, but this seems like an ok spot.*

Will Best Buy price match competitor's ads on Black Friday? I'd rather go there and price match so I can use the purchase towards my Reward Zone/Gamer's Club points, plus making one stop would be nice. The deals I'm looking to price match would be Target's $30 Dead Space and RadioShack's $30 DualShock 3.

Thanks for the help.

I was at BB yesterday and they told me that their CS desk would be closed during the "doorbuster" timeframe, so they wouldn't be matching deals. They probably wouldn't be available until 11 or so.

Thanks, I heard Target usually price matches on Black Friday. Funny, I don't remember that and I worked there last year. If that's the case, I'll just buy Dead Space there and price match the DualShock 3.

target doesn't match prices on any day of the week... why would they suddenly do it on black friday when they never do it any other day....

Ok, that's what I thought. I read on a forum yesterday that people were able to price match on Black Friday there. Must have been one of those ghetto Targets where the execs don't give a crap about policy or "brand" as they say.

Would Circuit City's price adjustment policy work for Black Friday? I'm not sure if I'm thinking about the right program, but I think they've got a policy if you buy something and it goes on sale elsewhere within 30 days they refund the difference.

Also do Target and RadioShack include their Black Friday deals online?

Check over at slickdeals. They have a whole thread dedicated to who will price match, and who wont. Your best bet is Walmart, as they will price match any competitors BF ad. Any other store and YMMV.

Where and when can I pick up the "official" Target flyer if I want to try and price match at Wal-Mart? (And I'm sure it's YMMV, but will Wal-Mart only match during the BF window, or can I show up at Wal-Mart early or late to get the deal done?)

Yargh. Best Buy is the closest store to my home besides the Staples and the Radio Shack. I really want to get Psych and Monk, since I sure as hell do not want to go to a Target on a busy shopping day.

So does anybody know if you can use Circuit City's "Unbeatable Price Guarantee" on Black Friday deals? I read the restrictions and it does not mention this is not valid on Black Friday, nor did I find anything online that would suggest it wouldn't work.

Normally, anything BF-ish is considered to be "limited quantities", which is the usual out on a PM.

Walmart is now advertising that they will price match competitor ads on black friday. They will not match what they call "Gimmick" sales, which are %off or b1g1 type sales, it has to have an actual price listed for them to price match. They do not price match online ads at all, and they do not price match walmart.com. You also must be doing the price match within the time frame of the ad you are trying to price match, so if its an ad that ends at 11am then the price match must happen before 11am.

Yeah I figured. I tried to price match a DVD a Circuit City a few years ago and it took they five minutes to just confirm that the competitor had the product in stock and the price. Then they gave me some silly answer why they couldn't match it. I believe the deal I tried to price match was at Target and I went there after work (must have went to Circuit City on lunch break, don't really remember) and they had the desired product on sale and in stock. No wonder Circuit City is going out of business.

I'd really like to get Dead Space at $30. Yeah, it'll probably be that much everywhere next year, but I figure once I'm done with Fallout 3, Dead Space would be the perfect game to play before the release of Resident Evil 5. I'd like a DualShock 3 since I've only got one Sixaxis, but I'm debating if it's worth the hassle of going to Walmart to price match or the mall to go to Radioshack. I was curious about Circuit City because from past experiecnes where I used to live, the crowds weren't too bad at CC, where as Best Buy and Walmart is total insanity for Black Friday.

I'm going to assume the Target here won't be too bad because I know they don't do half the business of the Target I used to live next to. I probably can show up a little after the store opens and grab the game and get home without too much hassle. I went to Walmart last year for one of those ultra lame video rocker chairs (that ripped after a month of use) and the electronics department was totally swamped. You couldn't get into it and you couldn't get through the crowd waiting to get into electronics.

Slightly off topic, but for anyone looking to buy directly or PM products that are limited quanity on black friday; I live directly across the street from a Best Buy and I see people lined up at 6PM Thanksgiving day when I get home from family dinner every year. I'm pretty sure Target is close behind on people's list. People truly are crazy on BF.

Your best bet is to find a 24 hr Wal-Mart and see when you're able to PM. If they have to call the other store when they first open, I'd be shocked if the other retailers even answer phones.

I know people would line up at Best Buy back at my old home earlier than any other store, but I don't think they were there at 6, so I guess people are just really nuts in your area.

I've read about this mystical Wal-Mart scenario several times now, but I have never seen a Wal-mart open 24 hours on Thanksgiving, thus giving them the opportunity to resume operation the next day at 5am. Maybe the local Wal-Marts will remain open, but they would close in PA.

I wouldn't even bother with a thread if I were back home, but I'm in a totally new area, so I want to maximize the time I'm wasting to go out and get this game. It's not like I've never done a Black Friday before, I know what I'm getting myself into. I'm just trying to everything planned out so I don't up going home empty handed when I could have just stayed in bed.

Amazon.com has these RIGHT now. Free ship after $25, no tax (outside of a few exceptions)

I don't do the going out in the mobs of nutty people just to get a single deal or so on Black Friday. I have done it maybe 3 times in my life, that was more than enough for me.

Plus, many of the deals for tomorrow are online already and places like Circuit City offer free shipping on orders $24 or over. It sure beats freezing your butt off tonight/tomorrow morning just to get $10 off on a DVD or up to $30-40 on a game.

The only game deal I was considering was BIA: Hell's Highway from CC, since it just came out in September, but then I remembered how much I loathe FPS games.

The price match at Wal Mart works as long it's within the same time window. I just got my Dual Shock 3 for 29.99. Granted, they let me buy it for that price reluctantly. Make sure you bring the ad though if you still want to try.
