I figured that by the time I got home from work this would have already been posted with the list, but it looks like I should have brought the list home with me. Best Buy is putting a ton of slower-moving games on clearance starting Monday Sept. 12th. Prices ranged from .99-9.99, with most being 4.99, and included games for all systems.

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

So, I was finally able to add things to my cart. I completely expected myslef to go on a slightly wild shopping spree, but after adding everything I was interested in, I thought ot myself, "Do I really want this game? Will this one simply disappear into my backlog?" over and over. In the end, I only ended up with Astro Boy. Oh well. I'm not even that upset about missing the final fantasies.

Graphics look awful, but I don't know about the gameplay. It's an overall low budget game.
 
So far, I just bought DBZ: Buu's Fury and Final Fantasy VIII, as the other games I either already have, or just ain't interested...

Probably i'll pick up a few games later for my brother if he wants any

Lol i did the same thing

Took out Astroboy/Fifa Soccer/Lotr Two Towers/Pacman World 2/Zookeeper/ Bloodrayne & Polar Exp (was going to trade in, never have, decided why bother now? heh)

So instead of the orignal $102.60 or whatever it was down to 4x for $45

finally was able to order the two games I wanted for sure(legacy of kain defiance and mechassault 2). I also wanted MGS: Twin Snakes but $10 plus shipping is crap.

I was thinking about Tron 2.0 because I'm a sucker for a FPS..... how bad is that thing REALLY?
 
Much thanks to whoever said to clear out the cookies. After restarting explorer the stuff finally worked!

Now I just hope the status doesn't change to the dreaded "backordered."

I made both of my orders with firefox, when it wasn't working in firefox, it didn't work in IE6 either.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Weird. I only played the demo on the XBM demo disc and it seems like a neat game. Btw, I really liked Godzilla: Save the Earth. If you ever watched Godzilla as a kid, it's well worth it for $10.
 
Well, when I started I got the same problem, cart said it had multiple items in it for $0 but I couldn't view it. I closed and re-opened my browser a couple times and it started working. I really wanted FF 1&2 for GBA, and it was not sold out when I first saw it but that's when I realized the cart wasn't working. By the time I re-navigated to the page it was gone. Not surprised at any of the RPGs getting gone, though.

I was able to load a bunch of other games up in my greed such as Starfighter, Tron, Mr. Driller DS and Kill.Switch but after I saw the butt-raping I would be taking on shipping it made me re-consider all but my most-wanted games and I threw the others back.

Seems to just be luck. I couldn't get any games into my cart either and tried messing with cookie settings,etc. Nothing worked and then finally it just did. Just crappy luck for most of us. Hopefully you have one near you, you can check out.

Eh,even after clearing my cookies I still can't view my cart and it says I have 7 items with no amount. This is utter BS. I know BB and I know they had to have expected this. Asspirates

Yep. They'll send you all your shit in one box but still charge you the $2 shipping for each individual item. It really adds up if you intend to order a bunch of stuff.

hmm after clearning out cookies multiple times, the cart once again is not working. Maybe that one order I got through was a fluke?

Oh well, now I play the waiting game to see if my stuff gets backordered. I guess I'll finally get some sleep and try ordering some of my lower-tier items tomorrow. My main focus was getting Silent Hill 4 and BloodRayne 2 so at least I got those.

Sure, it's not working for most of us, but I hear if you clear your cookies, cache, reformat your hard-drive six times, then view it through AOL's built-in browser, it works just fine.

No fucking kidding...
I've tried a PC and a Mac, and tried clearing cookies, the cache, and tried installing Firefox. All that did was make me have to log back on to CAG (and later I'll have to reenter passwords for lots of other sites - grrr). Same damn "empty kart" message. I did manage about 45 minutes ago to get ONE game reserved for store pickup. I'm trying to do others - including a few 99 cent ones, and it just won't take anymore! Frustrating to say the least. Even IF I manage to get these orders through I figure there's little chance the store will pull my games before someone snaps them up.
 
The things we go through for cheap games... I knew Best Buy hated its thriftier shoppers. I was gleefully adding items to my cart until I noticed only one listed, with no subtotal. Then I couldn't even view my cart -- in IE or Firefox. Sometimes when things seem too good to be true, they are.

If I remember correctly, a friend of mine bought a game from Best Buy once, and the shipping didn't cost that much. 2 or 3 dollars or so.

thanks for the help, what im trying to find out, if i remember correctly, is if bestbuy charges shipping per item... so if you order 6 games..they charge 12 dollars at 2 dollars each per game.
