I figured that by the time I got home from work this would have already been posted with the list, but it looks like I should have brought the list home with me. Best Buy is putting a ton of slower-moving games on clearance starting Monday Sept. 12th. Prices ranged from .99-9.99, with most being 4.99, and included games for all systems.

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasted 15 min of walking down to BB just to find nothing. This BB just opened up like end of July so didnt know it they had these older games or not come top find out nothing. Only Harvest Moon GC. So gay.
 
The Best Buy here was completely cleaned out when they opened this morning. It's only been open for 6 months so they didn't have a WHOLE lot to begin with.

All I could get was some Paper Mario 2's. The guy there right before me bought like 6 Harvest Moons.
 
Figures.. :cry: the first time I ever go to one of these 'posted' sales, and not a single damn game on the list in three stores! Oh well, it was worth a shot.

I'm glad I didn't even waste my time going to BB after work, I didn't get off until 6pm. Sounds like everyone was there in the am and wiped it out. :p Ah well, congrats to all who lucked out.

Nothing at my best buy as I expected. The three copies of Mr. Driller that were there yesterday magically disappeared. If anyone has an extra copy they want to sell, PM me.

I found a few games on this 'list' however they did not ring up for the cheaper price. I said screw it, not worth my time. If anyone has an extra Paper Mario 2 please PM me

These kinds of sales are usually wiped out long before they happen at the stores by employees.

Stopped in after work @ 6:30pm. Picked up the last copy of Y's and Paper Mario. They had lots of other stuff left too if any central Florida CAGs are still looking (Mech Assault 2 XBOX, MOH: Rising Sun GC, Colin Mcrae PS2, etc).

I was totally floored that anything was left this late in the day. Especially Y's, the one game i really wanted. There's still hope!
 
I went on my way to work, so it wasnt out of the way too much. Glad I did'nt end up spending anything, because one of my tires was ****'ed up(sorry, i don't know the html for shaq fu) from a party i went to deep in on a mountain road sat. night.

That's the answer that they gave me when I had a complaint with a manager refusing to honor a Best Buy issued coupon (it was from a Best Buy booklet and not a printed out coupon). The manager was 100% wrong and corporate didn't want to hear anything of it and gave me that same line that whatever the manager said was final. I probably should have fought it but it wasn't worth it to me over a $3 GBA accessory
 
Could it be that the prices for some games are not reduced until everything is totalled? I only found a few things at my local BB, and only one GBA game I wanted. I had them price scanned but they came up full price. :(
 
To be honest..there are very few titles on that list that are a MUST have...i say paper mario 2, GE:RA, and a few others are worth it..perhaps less than 25.. I believe that guy will keep on less than 10 percent of it and sell the rest on ebay or ebgames. 300 bucks is way too much to spend on video games..I really don't see this person playing all these games nor having the time to do so. and to top it off he probibly is going to get 10 bucks in reward zone coupons since he spent 300 bucks at best buy. Like I said before in a previous post I guess no one read that the money or even the games themselves could have been sent to those people affected by the hurricane... i am sure there are lots of kids down there who no longer have a gamecube or other system and there games have been washed out ... think this guy is going to send his games to some of the kids who lost everything because of nature or looters? NOPE.

Silent Hill 4 was the one I wanted the most. Harry Potter is for my daughter, and I thought I was ordering Colin McRae 04, as the OP stated, but realized it was 03 after ordering. I am happy to get another game my daughter will enjoy, but overall it looks like a bust for me.

see, i dont care about the games one bit (and i had $250 in games, which ended up being about $45 ^^) this guy was a fucking dick and i want to create as much hell for him as possible.

i actully e-mailed best buy and the DA of allegheny county about how to file proper complaints ^^

By the same token, one could ask why you're wasting time on a game forum while you could be down in Louisiana volunteering for the recovery effort. All I'm trying to say is that the issue is best left alone.

Bah! I just came back from the Vegas BB (the one on Maryland) and couldn't find the one game I was looking for, Pac Man World 2 Bundle. I did however find a Harvest Moon and a SSX Tricky but what do you know... they ran up at regular price... *sighs*
 
Ugh, hurricane people. Yeah, lets bring up how they don't have any games, guess we should all send them some. We all know all the povery stricken people own Xbox, PS2s, and Gamecubes. Oh, I'm sure they all do now that they 'looted' Wal-Mart

It occasionally does, I remember Timesplitters 2 was restocked several times over the span of a month when it was dropped to $5 way back when. It's quite possible that some games from this clearance will get restocked as well, unless it wasn't on the Best Buy page to begin with (Paper Mario 2, Otogi 2, etc.).
 
yah you got your point...i will stop...i did my part over the weekend by volunteering at a local church function over the weekend to raise money and to send them stuff. I can't go down there myself because 1, don't think work will let me and 2, can anyone say BIOHAZARD?!!??!

Same here, which was a relief, since I would have been very pissed if my BB did have a lot of stuff and they were all bought out.
 
I heard the last few MK games after 3 sucked...im suprised MK is still alive and kicking.

SSX Tricky was supposed to be 4.99 for PS2
It rang up as 9.99 but I applied the $5 off any PS2/PSP game coupon and got it for $4.99
anyway.
 
NO real luck for me. All ames were pulled and put on a table. Fifa 2005 CUB and otogi 2 were left at 9.99 each, but I passed. Couple GBA FF 1&2 and Mr driller (DS), thats it. Wasted trip.
 
just checked my order kind of freaky. the order where i got 5 games 4 shipped and 1 is backorder .... the one that is backorder was the only gamecube game i got at store today for 4.99 just thought that was werid. Jak 2 or something like that
 
I'm just glad I wasted my time on a night when I was already pissed about not getting out of work till 7 (and have to be back in there at 7am). Drove a stupid 50 miles to two BBs that had zero. I had a pity purchase of NBA Street 2, which was actually a halfway decent deal (and it almost makes up for the $5 in gas I blew). If I had realized people wanted some Otogi's and Mech Assaults I would have picked those up as those were the only other items on the list, but meant nothing to me. Ah well.

I was one of the very first to get my order in, and half of my order still went to backorder. Mr Driller, Ys and Growlanser shipped. Yager, FFA and Zoo Keeper are backordered. Any chance I will ever get them?
 
I went in the west lafayette store today. They had nothing. I asked someone to check if they had a game in their inventory. They used bestbuy.com to check their own store inventory. Now I know why I hate BB.
 
I thought about going but after reading these posts, deicded not to. It's just not worth the time & effort to pick up a few sub-par games at $10 each.
