Best Buy clearance/markdown sale?

I'm not really sure what it was, lol sorry for the lame title. Anyway was in BB yesterday, and while browsing thru the vg department I noticed several marked down games, they were pulled to the end of each section, all the PS2 were near where the PS2 GHs normally are right next to strategy guides, Gamecube ones were grouped together as were the games for X-box. They had hand writen tags, little yellow stickers like you see in their weekly ads and just was/now prices on all of them. I didn't actually buy any of them, but this list below is what I remember off the top of my head, and some I'm not sure about the price, but they were all cheaper, marked down from original prices. Some of these are still higher than the CC & Target deals from before plus I had $60 worth of AV cables so I had to keep on walking. :(

But anywhoo these are what I seem to recall seeing with prices if I can remember. YMMV

Billy Hatcher for $15 (with GGC) would be pretty good. I would have to pick it up for that cheap.
 
Has anyone else confirmed the $20 price on Billy Hatcher? Best Buy B&M usually follows the pricing of Best Buy online and online still has it listed at $39.99.
 
I'm going to BB in a few hours when I get off work. If I see the deals there too I will post it here.
 
hey guys at your bb, do they have the black background giftcards or are they still accepting coupons from the grey background ones? mine only has the grey ones and the employees dont seem to know much... of anything, actually.
 
All three of the Best Buys near me have the new black and yellow giftcards and last years green & grey gift cards. I haven't had the reason to try a coupon from the old packaging this year, so I can't help you out there.
 
just came back from BB and saw that they have the old gray GGC next to the PS1 games...saw one had the coupon ripped out..too bad that person didnt look at the expiration date..lol...

oh also saw a box that had a PS2 coupon book..mostly $5 off games and one $10 off something
 
I looked up Sphinx on Best Buy's website but it wasn't there. That may mean it was marked down.

Has anyone seen the price on it in store?
 
OK I went back today and wrote down most of the prices I saw. I edited the post above. Seems I-Ninja and Ridge Racer Evolution is being marked down on all platforms. I believe I saw I-Ninja was priced $30 in the actual runs, where as all the other versions they were pulled and placed with these marked down games at the end.

These were all taged with hand written prices. Like this. I bought Billy Hatcher and when I took it to the register, it rang up for $40 still, so it doesn't seem like it's been changed in the system yet, so it's definitely a YMMV So if you see these games but they're not yet repriced you probably won't be able to get them for cheap. But it may just be my local store got a head start on a markdown of some sort and maybe they will be in the next few days or so.
 
Also speaking of coupons, my BB has a Halo 2 demo disc/controller for $20 that says it has $200+ in coupons in it, anyone see this yet? I didn't buy it but I'm wondering what all is in it.

BB would only do this for opened games, like returns.

So. Why is there a sticker on the actual game case??

^^It's not an opened/returned game he bought. Those are all brand new. Just look at the pic again.

You can see the factory shrink-wrap just below the price sticker. Right above where the character's left hand would be. It's a bit reflective and wrinkled and you can see the plastic edges on the corners.
 
Nope still sealed, that have probably 150-200 games total marked like this at my store, many copies of some, only 1 or 2 of others. Sorry I have a crappy camera :/

I was there today... $40 bucsk for Billy Hatcher... But I thought I also saw it at another Best Buy for $20... It upset me because I bought it for 29. I dunno ... I don't think it's worth it. The game gets annoying because of the control.
 
I saw a sign at my BB saying "clearance games: what goes is gone," but all they had was The Hobbit, BG&E, Rugby, and F-Zero GX - all at regular price. I have no clue what that's about.
 
I wonder if it hasn't happened yet? See the prices at my store, they were hand written on the games, all the games were moved out of the run where they normally are and placed at the end of each section, and then the game I did buy was still coming up at regular price when I took it to the register. I had no problem getting it for the price it was marked thou, but I kind of thought maybe my store just got a jump on some clearance sale, that was coming. I checked some of the games online to see whay they were selling for and Billy Hatcher is nolonger coming up, it was just a few days ago and it was still $40 at that time. A few of the games aren't listed online anymore, which makes me think they will be clearanced soon everywhere. This is just my guess thou. I don't know why my store would mark down games and others would not. I didn't see any signs in my store. Might very well be that these will be marked down in the system soon, and they were pulled and stuck in a clearance section at your store but not repriced yet since they are not marked down in the system. :? Maybe my store's retarded! :p
 
Gonna swing by BB and see if Onimusha Tactics has indeed dropped, if so, it's definitely worth it for $15 w/ the GGC. More strat/RPG action on the go! :)

That's part of the Worship the Woodgrain collection, there are 4 discs total, all have printed labels on the cds, just with Atari pics on them. The guy who was selling them was out of the 4 disc cd cases, so he sent them in regular jewels with the artwork for me to add to a larger case. They've been sitting on my desk now for the past week or so as I've been to busy to find the larger case for them. They contain all the 2K & 4K atari roms in .wav format for use on a modded Supercharger.
 
I went to the two BB near me and only one of them had Billy Hatcher and it was $40. Then I went to Target right next to BB and they had it for $50 (I don't know what's up with that). So I went home empty handed. :whistle2:(
