I was at the BB in Cool Springs (Nashville, TN) tonight, and they had two tables and a couple of half racks filled with clearance games (50% off). After I was done there, I rushed to the Hickory Hollow BB about 30 minutes away, to find out if the selection was different, and there was no clearance there at all, so as the subject says, it is very YMMV. I took down a partial list of what games were being cleared out, and their prices, but this is far from complete, and if your store is having the sale it could be a completely different selection, for all I know.

There were a few more GBA games, but it was getting late and I had to rush to check out the other BB. I know there was one of the Medal of Honor ones, but I can't remember which.

Please post here if you find a similar sale at another BB.

Damn!!! Have hit them up tomorrow and hope this is in effect in my area and that they have Sphinx & I-Ninja left for the box.

At my local BB today there were little orange circle stickers on a bunch of the games that are on the list that the op made, I asked an employee what that meant, and he said it meant they were clearance titles. I said does that mean they are any cheaper or are they still priced what they are marked. He said they are priced what they are marked (which was the standard 20-50). I'm gonna stop by tomorrow or Sunday and see if maybe that has changed.

My Best Buy didn't seem to have anything on clearance although I didn't go to the extent of actually getting some of those games scanned.

Don't bother scanning them, it won't help since the computer still has them at full price. The way it worked was pretty odd. When one picks out the games one wants, one gives them to an employee in the games department who then checks the tagged price and writes the 50% off price on the game and signs it with a sharpie. One then takes the games to checkout and the cashier manually adjusts each one. As I said, odd.

On a side note, I picked up the PoP, Max Payne 2, and Manhunt guides -- it was the first time I've ever seen them actually tagged $.01 :)

This is also happening at the newington connecticut store. They ring up at regular price and if they have a "hot dot" on them the cashier takes off 50%.

Ack! I was just at my BB yesterday snagging what guides I could find. I didn't see any clearance tables. Guess I'm going back today, but knowing my BB, there still won't be any clearance tables.

Ok, went to my BB... looked for the clearance stuff. Asked someone in the games area about it and got the 'deer in headlights' stare. LOL. My BB sucks. Hope the rest of you have better luck.

I checked my BB again tonight, and as my previous post said there are still the little orange circles on almost every game listed in the first post of this topic. So I asked a guy what they meant (again, hoping for a different answer than last time) and he said, they were clearance games...I said does that mean they are cheaper than they are marked and he said "No, they are priced as marked." My question is how do they expect to clear out like 20 copies of F-Zero for the same $50 it's been selling for since its release. Oh well, there are like never any non-chainwide deals at my BB.

No go here either.

Although I did score Run Like Hell Xbox for $10, they also had Whacked Xbox for $10(might go back and get that one).
I've been wondering, what does YMMV mean?
it means your mileage may vary, as in some stores may have the sale and others do not.

Just to add to the possible list - the BB in Syracuse, NY had (in addition to the list above)

Boktai (GBA) $10
The Hobbit (GBA) $10

I can't remember the price on these, but they were half off whatever they were originally marked:
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (GC)
Megaman X7 (PS2)

I saw Primal in the clearance section for $9.99, but there was a sign above the section that said all the clearance games (and it listed the SKU's) would take another $5 off at the register. If that's so, does that mean combined with the GGC then Primal would be free?

BTW, this is at the Norwalk, CT BB.

Anyone been by the Best Buy in Springfield, MA? It's my closest B.B. and still an hour away, so wanted to find out if they're doing the sale before hauling all the way down.
No GGC is only for games that are 19.99 and up!
DOH!!! Well $4.99 is still pretty cheap.

I gotta check my BB for this since I missed it back then at KB :x

I was at the 2 BBs in Fort Wayne,IN yesterday and I didn't see any clearance items. I looked around a bit looking for sale games and didn't see much of those either....

A guy at my local Best Buy explained that once very couple of months, stores are allowed "immediate giveaway days".

Basically at the stores discretion, items such as video games, that are simply not selling at reg price, can be marked on temporary clearance. Stores are not required to do this and some areas won't do it.

I live in DFW, and the guy I was talking to said the district manager for my area, refuses to do any deals like this.

So it's definitely YMWillV.

This explains why my local Best Buys suck as far as deals go.
