It's random and can happen during any day of the week. Usually starts around 1:00 AM EST to 1:30 AM EST.

Is it the same price in store?
Yes.

Will Amazon price match?
It depends on if enough people alert them to the deal and if Best Buy still have stock available for shipping.

How long are these deals available?
For up to 24 hours or until the item sells out.

Will Best Buy price match a DotD item I already purchased?
No. All Deal of the Day products are of Limited Quantities and are excluded from the Best Buy Price Match Guarantee.

I'm afraid that this is going to be $10 on Black friday. Gamestop advertised this for $20 on BF but I don't want to miss this pretty sweet deal if it's not going any lower. What to do, what to do...

Well, according to the opening post, Amazon might.

I have the Saga (which I paid $40 for) and still haven't opened it. Big mistake. I'll probably wait for a $10 sale or something, if it ever drops that low.

 
Despite the negativity surrounding this title, I think I will burn a $10 shopkick cert for this to minimize the pain.

The completionist in me needs this to be up to date on this series.

was thinking of waiting for amazon match but decided not to risk it selling out or not happening. I'd rather pay and wait the extra for shipping from bestbuy; I'd be biting my nails and refreshing the amazon page all morning if not

I couldn't put my finger on it either. I guess it just felt like it lost the epicness after GoW3. You don't get much larger scale than that. In fact I can still go back and play GoW3, yet felt like I was forcing myself to finish Ascension. The graphics were good, mechanics decent enough, some pretty big things going on. I guess it had that "side story" feel, with more obscure mythology references. It sort of felt like going back and playing a re-tread of GoW1 where they sort of forgot about what improvements they made to the formula.

 
the scale was just as epic as gow 3 but remember this is before he became a god so things felt kinda scaled back. i really enjoyed this game and my 5$ coupon will make it my price point of 10 :D
 
^ me too - still had an extra best buy certificate. burned it on shipping and taxes but with gas prices being the way they are - i'd rather have it shipped than drive 30 miles round trip to pick one up. jumped on it since I doubt amazon will match, even tho I know it'll be below $10 this black Friday. 

 
I'm trying to get this for in-store pickup and paying via Paypal.  Every time I try to submit the order, it goes to Paypal and after I sign in and approve it craps out when redirecting back to Best Buy.  Has anyone had this issue with using Paypal for purchases with them before?  The error simply states "There was an issue while processing your order".

 
If y'all live in Memphis message me there is an outlet store that has this game for $4. They got new shipments from gamestop yesterday. I think a warehouse or trailer burn cause the games smell like smoke. But the disc are fine just the cases are a little bad

Try ordering in Internet Explorer. There's a problem for some people using Chrome when trying to buy from BBY.

It lost its epicness because there were no recognizable characters or other monsters and lack of cinematography (camera/shot placement made every large scale scene seem so generic for example).

1 had some great chars and every scene was done in a way to show its scale and had great monster of greek myth.

2 Had you face off against almost every classic greek hero and titan.

3 was just like huge boss fight after another.

this one was so bland and uncreative. To show scale, they just moved the camera back and that messed gameplay. few classic greek mobs. Boss fights were not as epic and not as recognizable characters.

Goal of the game was not as epic either, kill 3 sisters so he can break his bond, please I remembered when I had to travel far and wide to get find pandoras box off a hidden temple on the back of chronos to kill Ares or kill all past greek heroes on a mythic Island with the steeds of time to turn back time and space for a shot to storm mount olympus or kill the gods after epic battle after epic battle.

Doubtful. Aside from Uncharted, I don't think any of Sony's 1st party offerings have had any GOTY editions, and most (if not all) the DLC appears to be multiplayer. Couple that with the fact that PS4 is nearly here and I don't see PS3 getting anymore serious attention from Sony from this point on.

That said, there's an assload of DLC to this game, so be forewarned about that going in. I haven't played it, so I don't know what kind of difference purchasable weapons and armor may make, but there appears to be a lot of it there.

I traded in the 1st black ops game and got $12.60 for it after the 100% promo and 10% gcu. Ended up paying a little under $4 out of pocket for god of war. Awesome deal since I got the black ops game for free with an xbox that I bought for $60 on ebay last week.
 
So would you guys say this plays and feels more like the psp GOW's games rather than the console one's?  I would like to know whether I should keep or rent this one. Im a HUGE god of war fan, and this is the only one I haven't played yet.

 
I bought GoW: Ascension from BB a few months ago at $20 and to be fair I did beat it in September but this just goes to show games always drop to ridiculously low prices, there aren't enough truly cheap games that I know of during Black Friday yet to get me hyped.

I have another question I hope somebody can help me with ASAP. Will this game work on Steam games like Super Meat Boy, Castle Crashers, ect. that "recommend" an Xbox 360 controller (even though no other controller will work with them)? I know it's possible to download programs to make them work, but I want to know if this will work on those games straight out of the box or if I am gonna have to install this crap to make it work?

I already have a Logitech that looks suspiciously similiar, but instead of the colored AXYB buttons it has black 1234's, but I've had that thing for nearly 10 years now and it doesn't work with hardly any Steam games without massive customization on my part. I've been meaning to update it, while saving it for 2 player games on PC, so I think I'm gonna jump on this unless someone can say why I shouldn't. Working on PS3 is a massive bonus since I only have 2 DS3's now.

Edit: I FINALLY stumbled onto an old forum with the answer. It looks like this controller works with a switch in the back switching it from Directinput (or w/e it's called) to w/e makes it read like a 360 controller. It looks like, aside from the home button + rumble, it works fine for PS3 games, yet despite PC's reading it as a 360 controller it doesn't work for 360's at all. However on PC it is indistinguishable from a 360 controller as far as Windows is concerned. Aside from the absence of rumble it looks like this is an extremely versatile controller, and a bargain at $13.

The only other thing I can't determine is whether or not this controller will work with Windows 8? Not an issue for me as I'm still on Windows 7, but it may be an issue for someone else.

Just got the controller.  Works on Windows XP with no issues (when the box doesn't mention XP) and in directinput mode works perfectly fine on PS3 besides the lack of Home button (perfect for player 2).

My only gripe is the shoulder buttons/triggers are rather meh.
