Odd that people are having trouble. I just went out and picked up my last two from the other Best Buy and got the codes in less than 15 minutes.

I just redeemed all of my points codes and they all worked too.
do you have to price match or does it ring up 12.99?
Rings up at $12.99. They even have the right price on the rack of cards.

Just bought four 3-month cards at a store in Henderson, NV (they had lots of them in stock). The girl was going to ring up each one separately but decided to try and it worked. All four codes for the points showed up on the same receipt.

Like others have posted, an email confirmation was sent as well. She did have to add my email address to my best buy account.

Thanks for the heads up on this deal. For $51.96 (no sales tax?), a whole year of gold plus 3200 points. Even at $39.99 for the 12-month card and $12 for 3200 points, it still works out to a pretty good deal.

Got this in store at 3:25 ET and the deal still worked. One note for people trying to buy in store, make sure you do not pick up the "digital code" cards as those will ring up as $24.99.

Got the points codes and all on the receipt and they asked for my e-mail as well in the store.
i just bought 5 more right now for 64.95 used a 20.00 reward cert so 44.95 for 15 months of live not bad
Plus 4000 points. Definitely a great deal.
Yes, that's been known for most of the day now.
**golf clap**

The same rule applies to liquid internet courage as it does beer.....It's 5 o' clock somewhere.
Plus 4000 points. Definitely a great deal.
yeah the codes printed on my receipt and i also got an email with the codes

just got back from 2 different best buys, had to pick up a game from each 1. I bought 2 cards at 1 store, and 3 more at the other, got codes for 2 at the 1st store, but only got 2 codes at the second store but i bought 3 cards, guess i'll have to return 1 card when i go to the other best buy to pick a 3rd game thats waiting. Wierd that the 3rd code didnt appear for me, not in my email either.

Great deal. I picked up two online earlier. I would have bought more but was being considerate. Had $25 in coupons to use to so I basically got 6 months live and 1600 points for about a buck.

Codes printed on my receipt and were delivered via email as I left the counter as of 5 Eastern.

Back from the store, picked up two cards and got the points no problem. The cashier even knew about the deal before I mentioned it to her. Love you Best Buy.
Pretty sure you can't return them.
you can as long as the back hasn't been scratched off....they aren't considered gift cards. Since he is returning one because it didn't come with bonus points, they can't accuse him of buying and returning the card just to get the MSP. If he's worried about being rejected, the best thing to do is return it as a Xmas gift....as long as they can see they haven't been entered (which is possible), they will have no problem giving you $ back or at least store credit.

If the codes are NOT on your receipt, your cashier screwed up, and you need to return/rebuy in order to get them. I found this out the hard way.

Let me tell you about my experience at Best Buy today:

1. Couldn't find the 3-month cards. I asked an employee where they were. He said they were sold out. God damn hoarders. (or so I thought)
2. I go up to check something else out and see a rack of 3 month cards at the front of the store. Apparently the dude had lied/was too lazy to actually check. Strike one, but at least I found them, so that's a trip saved.
3. I buy 5 of the 3-month cards. They ring up as $12.99 each, woohoo. :)
4. Walking back to my car, I notice my receipt has no codes printed on it, nor have I been emailed any codes. I wait for 15 minutes and nothing. :(
5. Call Best Buy to see if HQ can straighten it out for me. After being disconnected once, then being transferred to 5 different people, the dude at the end of the line says he DOESN'T SEE THE 800 MS POINTS OFFER on the 3 month XBL card webpage. After talking with him for about 15 minutes I give up; he's either blind or doesn't want to give me the deal. fuck you, man.
6. Go back into the store. Wait 10 minutes at an empty Customer Sevice desk. Get a different CS rep who knows what she's doing and eventually do a return/rebuy. She checks out the items CORRECTLY this time and I get all my points codes printed out on the receipt.

The whole ordeal took over 2 hours. It almost wasn't worth my time. In short, fuck you, Best Buy (aside from a few nice employees). If they didn't have such good deals I would avoid them completely. It's not even this particular location; I've had issues with a couple different stores in the Richmond area being understaffed, unhelpful, or both.

Just snagged the last four at my local BB, codes on receipts, zero problems.

My only complaint is that this happened after the big XBLA sale. Ha.

Placed a order for 1 at 10:48 am. Never received the pick up email. Called CS and was told the store closest to me was showing out of stock. I questioned about a digital code for the 3 months and was told they no longer offer digital codes??? Only option I had was getting a refund which will take 2-3 days to process. Ah well.

Just hit the best buy in Westland, mi for more cards. The cashier didn't know about the deal and couldn't figure out why points kept coming up. Still a lot of cards and it's still working in store.

I'm at best buy right now. I asked the cashier and he said they are 13 bucks but he doesn't see anything about getting Microsoft points.

Edit: nvm it worked.

Do you know exactly what the employee did to ensure the codes were on the receipt? I'll be sure to look for the codes on the receipt immediately.

Went to local BB tonight and got 9 cards. Codes came up on the receipt and the should be e-mailed to me as well. Glad I got in on this deal. Thanks OP!

I got a card + code in store while picking up my $2.99 Brutal Legend.
Great deal, I would have bought more if I didn't already have 15 un-used months of live!
People are still paying for Live?

lolololol
you gotta pay the troll toll if you wanna get into that boyssoul

Not sure exactly what she did but it looked like there was a prompt after ringing up each card. Make sure your cashier doesn't cancel out of it because s/he doesn't know about the deal.

:applause::applause::applause::applause:

It's not very often Always Sunny references fit in. Well played!

If you go to pick them up at the store try to grab the green cards. The green ones rang up at $12.99 no problem. My store only had 1 left so I tried some of the kinect sports 3 month gold cards, they rang up at $24.99. I was lucky the manager allowed the cashier to do a manual price reduction.

The points all came up. I was watching the screen and it prompted the cashier for customer info after each card was scanned. After the first one the info was saved for each one after it, he just had to confirm. If they skip that step the extra points get skipped. He skipped it once in front of me on accident and had to re-scan it.

I picked up my card, and have yet to receive an e-mail, and nothing was prompted in store.

No points, gonna call BB-Customer Service. Any one else with this issue?

(Ordered online for in store pick up.)

Still working in-store as of 6pm.

Bought 3 in-store, codes printed on receipt. Also received three individual e-mails before I left the store (same codes.)

Boy's hole? ... wait what ...

Ordered online this morning and just picked up 2 orders in store. Got the emails for my MSP within 5 minutes.

I bought the card at a store but did not get my 800 MSP code. I was walking out of the store when I realized I had no code, so I went back in and started using a Macbook to look at this thread and see what was up. But then a Best Buy employee told me that the 800 MSP code would automatically activate when I use the XBL card. So I went home.

I wish I had continued to read this thread instead...

I also called the store later, and later talked to a Bestbuy.com support person, and was told that the 800 MSP part of the deal was only available in "limited quantities." So I guess the 800 MSP codes were all given away at my store.

Sigh... I didn't even want the XBL Gold part of this deal...
Figures I get off work late today and its sold out online. Nearest BB is 45 minutes away... Ah well.
Dont stress, it's been sold out since this morning so getting home on time likely wouldnt have helped.

The register should prompt for the cashier to add the 800 point offer. Might then ask for your email. Then the code will print on the receipt and possibly get emailed. Just make sure the cashier doesn't bypass it thinking its an offer you dont want.
Still working in-store as of 6pm.

Same here. Great deal. In for 3.

Thank you very much OP. Ordered 1 online and got 3 in store. Going to use a couple as bday gifts, but I'll be keeping the points. :)

Question, if you buy 4, do all four codes print on the same receipt? Or do you have to do four different transactions?
