Twisted Metal vet here as well, and have this game still sealed on the shelf.

Was never in a rush to play this installment, but will get around to it.

Even though I have the game, I'm still in for one of these because of the cheap controller. The game will go right back to BB.
I have a black one that's like 6 months old and a brand new urban camo that I haven't even used yet. Hmm don't know if I should get this. The white one certainly looks a lot better than the camo, which is easily the ugliest DS3.
I've never understood everyone's hate on the camo DS3. I honestly think its the best looking; but then again, military will be my career and maybe that makes me a tad bias.

I'd honestly love a USAF tiger stripe dual shock, but I don't see that in the foreseeable future.

Man, only if i had a ps3 and twisted metal didnt suck so bad. TM is meant for local MP or single player with sweet cut scenes, not online MP
the online at times was a mess and i hated the ai in this game too. the other enemies would just hound you to death (especially that dry humping axel). jaff how could you let this happen ?
LOL i just hated the crappy matchmaking and broken online trophies. Did everything to earn the platinum(some things many times over), and still came up four trophies short. I enjoyed playing the game quite a bit, but these things were a constant source of irritation, especially as Jaffe/ESP continued to ignore gamers' pleas to fix the game's problems and instead kept patching the game with arbitrary, unnecessary gameplay tweaks.

(aside from nerfing Talon, anyway; that was necessary)

Is there something wrong with the local MP? I've been interested in playing this for awhile

In these controller packs, does the controller have its own packaging?

Is returning just the game a legitimate, hassle-free possibility?

No.

It's "wrapped up" basically like the controller that gets bundled with a system.

No, just in a white thin cushion like bag.

You can't return just the game. The UPC label is marked "Not for Resale". He is referring to trading-in disc only back to best buy.

He's talking about trading the game in to BB, not returning it. You won't be able to return the game...

Damn, was hoping to sell it and just get the game. Thanks, though.

Does the Terminator anthology come with all the same special features as the movies by themselves?

Got the controller bundle for $32.39 after using a $10 Rewards GC. Now to hope that Twisted Metal Black gets released as a PS2 classic or that I can find a cheap LE and trade this one in, or I guess trade in the LE after using the Black voucher.

I already have all but Terminator 3, but I'm still contemplating picking up that anthology since I love owning box sets. Definitely in for the controller bundle though.
Is there something wrong with the local MP? I've been interested in playing this for awhile
No bots when you play 3-4 player split-screen.

Wow... was looking for another controller this morning when I came across this thread. Twisted Metal had been on my list for a long time, but I just hadn't picked it up. This is great!

Thanks much, OP.

I ordered the combo pack as well as I never got Twisted Metal and want to try it. I now have one of every color controller (yes, even pink which my wife wanted and uses) except the gold metallic controller which is way too expensive.
Anybody know if TM supports driving wheels like the driving force GT?
No, but the physics and controls are such that you wouldn't want to use a wheel anyway.

Well, I'm in for this. Mainly because of, along with Free Shipping from BBY; 1) I've been looking for Twisted Metal (PS3) for about 2-3 weeks now, and I haven't found it for any cheaper than ~ $36 - $40 [new], and 2) The white DS3 is a color I don't have yet, and more importantly it rounds out my ps3 controller set of 4: camo DS3, reg. black DS3, white DS3, and a black OG SixAxis. Now I just need a good PS3 controller charging station

Don't forget that, while it's a dick'ish move, you can trade TM right back to BBY. It gets $6 base ($12 after 100% bonus) making the controller $28. That's not too bad for a new DS3.

Picked one up, may just TM in since it was mainly for the controller. Goes for about $12, so about $28 for the controller.

Is the game any good? Seems to be a bit of a bust...

Or you can sell it online for twice that much. Is trading stuff in really that much easier than mailing something out?

Damn, if I would of known this deal was coming I would of skipped the kill zone camo controller bundle and gotten this one instead as I would of rather had twisted metal.

Wish I would've held out on buying the camo controller bundle and gotten this. Oh well. On a side note, the plastic the camo controller is made of seems sort of flimsy. Are all new controllers (all colors) coming like this or is it just the camo?
lol @ the $1.00 trade in value at Amazon

wow this game tanked

It's a dollar trade in value because of this sale. They expect an influx when this happens. They actually pay people to scan sites like this to watch out for anything that can be taken advantage of so they don't loose money. Also, the game didn't tank, it did quite well actually, review score wise and sales wise.

One of the reviews of the TM bundle states that the material is really cheapish feeling. My guess is that these bundles all have a cost cutting factor into the controllers. I dont have any solid proof that the material is different, but since you asked, I felt I'd mention that.
Or you can sell it online for twice that much. Is trading stuff in really that much easier than mailing something out?
To some people, it is, since you can do it all in one trip and be done in minutes, instead of listing it, waiting and hope the market doesn't get flooded in the meantime.

The problem with doing this online, looking at Amazon, is the listings are getting crowded from everyone getting the same idea. Many of the low-end prices are new sellers (
Is anybody here doing the reverse: buying the bundle, keeping the game, and hoping to sell off the controller?
Thats what i usually do with these $40 bundles. I sell the controller for 35 and keep the game for about eight bucks after tax.
No, but the physics and controls are such that you wouldn't want to use a wheel anyway.
Thanks for the info.

Yeah that's what I plan on doing if my Best Buy has any left when I get off from work.

The gold controller is GS exclusive... Wal-mart has the blue (or grey?) clear controller, Target has the red clear controller... They're all retailer exclusive. I retired my gunmetal grey controller, too expensive to game :D

I might have to jump on this deal, I don't have the game, but I do have a white controller (it's actually better looking that the red one, the LED lights don't bleed out like the red one).

I got the camo Killzone bundle when that was on sale, and the controller feels fine to me, but I didn't really directly compare it to others.

I wish they'd do this same deal with the Ratchet & Clank collection bundle.

Too bad we're not in Australia, you'd have to add this one too your collection.
lol, do you have generalized anxiety disorder or something? A lot of sentences with "hope" and "worry." I've been scammed on Amazon Marketplace literally once in 9 years. Some guy claimed he received an empty game case when I sent him a sealed game, and he claimed the shipping seal wasn't broken either. I mean, that guy is literally 1 in thousands, like a serious sociopath to try something like that when it was so obvious and for such a small amount of money. There are definitely more scammers on ebay, but statistically, you're probably not going to run into them unless you're a real serious re-seller. USPS losing first class mail is about the same statistically, i.e. immaterial.

As for the price being driven down, it'll revert back to normal in a week or so unless Amazon permanently lowers the price. But the procedure is pretty simple, you just list and forget. None of this "hoping" and "worrying" in the middle. It's not for a lot of money after all.
Wow, nice dick response. Apparently you don't frequent the AZ seller forums too often. And for the record, your "scammer" may have been legit. It's been known in the past that, while it's rare, sometimes games do get shipped without the discs from the manufacturer. Claiming such doesn't make someone a "sociopath."

For me, no, if I get hit by a scammer, it's no big deal. I'm talking for those that are inexperienced.

I sell and ship thousands of items a month, and I've had my share of scammers and lost mail. Statistically, yes, the odds are low, but I'm speaking from experience that these things do happen quite often than you are obviously aware of.

But for someone that wants to just unload the game to offset the cost, some people don't want to list it and forget it. Sure, the price my go back up, but it may not either. Unless you wish to share your psychic knowledge of the market.

I was simply providing others with a quick and easy way to offset the cost of the controller.

I plan on keeping the game and controller unless I for some reason really hate the white. I want to trade my old ps3 controllers in and I would really like the gold controller. The Urban Camo one is the best so far because of the matte finish. The gloss finish really sucks.
How can you sell the controller for $35?
eBay. The camo seems to sell much better than the white though. Good luck getting that much for the white.

Case in point, I purchased Star Wars Clone Wars movie on Blu-Ray from a seller on eBay and the case came empty. Another time I purchased a Wii game at Sears and it came empty.
