When are they available?
It's random and can happen during any day of the week. Usually starts around 1:00 AM EST to 1:30 AM EST.

Is it the same price in store?
Yes.

Will Amazon price match?
It depends on if enough people alert them to the deal and if Best Buy still have stock available for shipping.

How long are these deals available?
For up to 24 hours or until the item sells out.

Will Best Buy price match a DotD item I already purchased?
No. All Deal of the Day products are of Limited Quantities and are excluded from the Best Buy Price Match Guarantee.
(Official policy of Best Buy but depending on the customer service rep handling the price match you might still be able to get it done.)

Never got red case deal. To me it sticks out so I know which one it is when I want to play. Careless about the case its about the game.

Its a CAG curse. At first I did not mind at all about a red case, but as I got more into CAG, the more I hated the red cases in my collection. They look odd, and do not fit in lol, but red cases would not stop me from a good deal!

I found a non gh version (360) at Target today, but it was in the prison that crushes the box.

Edit: also picked this up for .52 using a $15 RZC after picking up a thing of rubber bands that were on clearance for .49.

I am going to exchange my copy for a copy that is in a prison at BBY. The one I got has the dreaded case ring on the back from shelf ware. (It wasn't in a case). It happens when there is a bunch of stuff in the game case. #360gamingproblems #firstworldproblems

I read a few pages back. One Cag here said there was a different cover/box art with foil? I dont know what they talking about and can someone that knows can post a pic?

I have seen both versions of the GOTY and the both look the same. One has that stupid "sold over x amount of copies" (platinum hits version) printed on it while the other does not. I didn't notice the foil if there was any.
 
Just got the last copy from the only store near me on the last day and last hour of the sale.

It feels good. I would have spent 15 dollars just to feel this good lol.

OMG... play this game, it actually get's to you! The first time you get to mexico DO NOT leave your horse! It's such a memorable moment.
 
Yes! Glad I could still purchase this off Amazon though! $14.99. Don't mind if I do. Plus I needed to by a few cheaper items off there also which made me eligible for their Super Saving Shipping!

Edit: This is the Xbox 360 I bought.
 
I got RDR: GOTY in the last 10 minutes that Best Buy was open.

Yeah, that's what mine looks like, I bought the the GOTY version when it came out and I'm assuming only the first print has the foil cover. Plus, it has some textural differences too, it's difficult to explain, like the characters and the title on the cover are 'raised up' from the background, for a pseudo-3D effect.

I just took this picture of the two covers for the 360. It's easier to see the differences in where it says "Game of the Year Edition"
The background is alot harder to see, but it is shiny around the zombie and uh, who is that, Allante?

Actually this second pic let you see the background better and the upper writing, even though its washed out. You still can tell that the pictures are slightly raised however.

question how do you get bestbuy to pricematch amazon? amazon just put this on sale and I didnt get to goto bestbuy to grab this.

wanted to also get them to pricematch catherine as to my bestbuy has a couple left :)

Just go in and ask. Their price match policy on their site clearly states they will now.

You can do that as most employees will take that as a reputable source. Other "straight edge" employees will look it up themselves.

Short answer, doesn't matter just ask them to price match.

Also, the PM has to be with amazon as a seller (aka "Sold by amazon"). If the price is not sold by amazon they won't accept. I did this at the register and they refused bc it wasn't sold by amazon.

I think my store recently changed that policy and now do all price matches at customer service. They wouldn't do it at checkout last time I tried.

I read somewhere that Uncharted 3 GOTY edition is broken and you're actually better off finding the standard edition. They say that the GOTY content is via an included code which has expired so you're basically getting the same content but they changed something on the GOTY disk that causes all kinds of in game issues.

That thread is one guy claiming there are problems and a bunch of others making fun of him.

Also the DLC is on disk and not a code. The code is ONLY for the online pass.
 
I was just about to get the GOTY, but after reading so many negative things about it, I guess I'll stick with my vanilla version. I don't want to risk it with my PS3 track record of games not working properly or expired DLC codes.
