main reason why i didn't pick this up. I was ready to do so til one poster said sumthin about hdmi sound lag. Ill stick to my ultimate-guitar tabs for now.
My sound doesn't lag through HDMI. There are a ton of factors aside from the game itself that could be the problem, one of which is if you don't know how to strum properly.

But yes, the game is mostly a series of tabs that adapt to how well you can play. It won't make you a guitar virtuoso by any means.

The most important factor to consider is whether your display lags. Most (pretty much all) HDTVs have a significant amount of lag on them. Most people don't notice because lag isn't important in the games that most people don't play. Give someone a rhythm game or have a competitive tournament gamer play on it and it immediately becomes noticeable. A lot of times when the audio doesn't sync up to the sound, it's because the receiver is lagless while the HDTV lags which throws everything off.
If you have PS+ it's free...but at $10 it's almost worth having a physical copy :D
But this has all the DLC as well. I am going to pick it up for that alone. Speaking of that, does anyone know if the dlc is a super voucher or on disc?

If you set up your TV properly to match the default resolution of your console, or if you enable a gaming mode, or simply connect analog audio signals (HDMI signal is digital, which has to be converted to analog before being sent to analog speakers) then there shouldn't be much of a problem. RS was also patched last year with Lag Correction. And the 3.5-to-USB jack has about 30ms latency anyway, the same as most amps and pedals used with real guitars. There are tons of ways to fix the issue, so people shouldn't give up on if they're only concerned about "lag." That's the most generic, played out excuse in all of gaming.

Also, like I said, the game is just a game. It's a tool for you to memorize songs. Sure it's a step in the right direction, but take some music theory lessons if you want to actually learn how to play.

LittleBigPlanet 2: Special Edition $9.99
Still need to beat littlebigplanet 1 but hey for $10 and it's the special edition, why not!
That's the spirit. And get to it, it's a great fun game, both 1 and 2.

Don't own LBP2 so this is a pretty good bargain. Just bought one and picked in store pick up. Just gotta wait till store opens and I get the ready for pickup e-mail.
I'll bite for $10 to get all the dlc, actually own it and free up some much needed hdd space. Thanks
Well, technically not all the DLC, but I suppose you already knew that.

If a store nearby had it, I'd consider it just for the bonus content. Though since they are all out, I might as well just stick to the digital version
Well, technically not all the DLC, but I suppose you already knew that.
yeah I know it doesn't include everything (costumes) but it does have all the dlc story levels correct?

I doubt it, littlebigplanet 2 has 146 pieces of DLC according to the PSN Store.

Edit: I took a look on the LBP website and LBP2 had a total of 5 DLC level packs. Toy Story was only 1 of the 5. Muppets, Marvel, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Vita Cross Controller pack were the other ones.

htc beat me to it
It doesn't, unfortunately. htc did not mention prehistoric moves, which is available for free for PS+. Check Frisky's thread on how to obtain it. For the rest, you just have to buy it, or not, since the mini challenges like the tower defense one and sand digging one is so much fun.

SHOW HIM YOUR RESPECT :whee:

The PS+ free games lineup is suppose to completely change next month right? No more infamous 2, LBP 2, ratchet & clank ect.. I'm wondering because if it does change then I'll probably pick up LBP2 from Best Buy tomorrow then.

Sure I'll bite on a physical disc copy of LBP 2 with (most of, if not all?) the DLC packs for 10 bucks, why the hell not, eh? Free Shipping helps make up my mind. It'll free up something like 12GB of HDD space too. And the free version on the PSN PS+ store doesn't have any DLC, IIRC. For $10.69 shipped I'm down. Thanks for the heads up on the Horribly Overpriced Big-Box Electronics Store Deal of the Day!

Ah, slip of the finger...my bad...

If you look down the keyboard, these keys are close by, so I get a pass, no?

Marvel and Pirates were LBP1 dlc levels. I meanIm sure they are playable on LBP2...but they weren't made for LBP2.

Thanks for the heads-up, OP! I also have this free on PS+ (haven't gotten around to playing it yet), but like everyone else has said, it was easy to spend $10.54 on this for all that DLC and to have it on disc.

Never got around to installing LBP2 when I had PS+, but damn, $10 is just too good to pass up on the special edition. A shame I can't use my $10 RZ cert on this though

How does the DLC work? I assume we are going to be getting codes to redeem on PSN right? If so, I have absolutely no interest in any move-related DLC, so if that comes on a code I'd be willing to trade anybody for some other DLC or something that isn't already included.

DLC is on-disc, so no codes to deal with.

This would be my bite price, but I must be the one and only guy on Earth that played LBP and thought, wow, this controls like a low-budget SNES platformer.

$5.34 after $5 RZ cert works for me, even with the PSN version.

Regardless, I can always go back and redownload the PSN version if I wish later once I remove it from my PS3's HDD.

As much as I'd like to get this game.. don't know if I'll ever get to playing it. LBP was fun but don't know if I will have the tolerance to go through another one

Question, I picked up Little Big Planet 2 Special Edition today and I can't seem to accept the agreement to connect online so the game starts. It just hangs on the EULA accept screen. I've deleted and re-installed and no luck. Has anyone had this happen to them? Thanks for any help.

Really? I'd read online after seeing this thread that the game required over 1gb of "patches" to be able to use any of the online features, so I assumes that was all the DLC. If the DLC is on the disc, what is the massive patch(es) that are required when playing the special edition?

I don't know about the patches, but a quick google search shows over and over that the DLC content is on disc.
