So here's a doozy of a question I wanted to ask before I possibly waste my time at Best Buy tomorrow.
Back on December 5th I purchased a Red 3DS that includes Super Mario 3D Land at one of my local Best Buys. That week Target had them on sale for $129, so I was able to get Best Buy to price match them.
I still haven't opened the unit, but I noticed today on Reddit that the SM3DL bundle is a different shade of red than the original. Frankly, I prefer the "original" color better, and I'm willing to sacrifice the bundled SM3DL to get it.
So, receipt in hand, I'm going to exchange the bundle for a standard 3DS tomorrow.
But here's the sticking point: The 3DS Bundle was the first purchase I made on a new Best Buy credit card. The first purchase on a new Best Buy credit card nets you a bonus $25 reward zone certificate that I was looking forward to receiving. I'm afraid that if the 3DS is returned to my card that offer will be nullified.
At the same time, if I ask for store credit to avoid a refund, obviously I'll given store credit for the $129.99 + tax sale price instead of the original $169.99 value of the unit. $129 won't cover the purchase of a new unit, so I'd have to fork over an additional $40 + tax to get the new one.
Would Best Buy price match an ad from a few weeks back while doing an exchange of a similar product at the same price point?
