Yeah, I would buy one for a penny, but I don't like the idea of buying demos. Demos should be free since they help advertize and sell the game (assuming the game is good).
I am not saying they won't mark it down to a penny, they very well might, but don't forget there is a controller in the package too. I think of it as buying a controller for $10, and getting the demo for free.
The Best Buy near me has one of the controllers hooked up to a demo unit. The sticks and buttons weren't too bad but the handgrips weren't very comfortable.
They expire on 02/28/04, so one would have to get it at the B&M to use them at all at this point. Mostly $5 coupons, so they don't do much better than the GGC coupon, except they might save a little hassle.
BTW, I'd like to take this opportunity to once again thank Mr. Rhee for, among other things, taking the time to post such a detailed description of the package.
As long as I am thanking people, thanks Chi, for alerting us to the price drop.
Well, I've waited and waited and waited. Now we are reaching the point of "they will all be gone". So I put it to you--is the controller worth $10 if you only have one and wouldn't mind a second?
The controller isn't completely worthless. I played some multiplayer halo with it and it stood up pretty well. Its just an awkward size...not as bad as the original xbox controller but harder to get your hands around than the S controller. Maybe it was just lack of use but I thought the sticks were kind of stiff...had a hell of a time aiming that sniper rifle. But its definately worth 10 bucks compared to 30 for a S so you can break it out for some multiplayer.
I got one, and it broke in two weeks. It was not mishandled, and since it was my 2nd port controller, it only had about 3 hours of game time on it when the right trigger just quit working.
Well, I played with the store demo controller again today and the left stick was starting to feel kind of "mushy"(best word I can come up with to descibe it).
