It's time for another one of those online-only, after hours sales at Best Buy. It starts on Sunday September 5th at 9 pm till September 7th at 10 am. The usual 10% off Select games, but it does have 20% off Select accessories, might include Wii/DSi points cards or Microsoft points or Live Gold cards.

Anyways hope everyone got what they wanted out of this sale. I spent much more than I thought I would but at least I saved lots of cash in the process which is what its all about in the long run. Total haul:

From Best Buy:
3x 2400 XBL point cards ~ 30% off
Resistance 2 + PS3 Red Controller bundle ~ 20% off
12 month XBL Gold card ~ 30% off

From Future Shop:
Reach Legendary pre-order ~ 10% off + $5 coupon

all in all this was a pretty decent sale I'd say :applause:

I'm not buying it, so right there I assume it won't be a success.
Relying on us core market consumers is a death sentence for a accessory. We know better, it's just an accessory. If it's a success maybe 10% of the userbase will pick it up. 10% is not a lot, a dev would have to be insane to put much effort into something 90% of the market will ignore. So it'll maybe get some shovelware games, a small handfull of ok niche games, and games with crappy optional support. Meaning us core gamers won't care...

Honestly, can you name one accesssory that wasn't a failure in the end? There's a reason we have a Gamecube 1.5 with motion controllers, and never got those motion controllers they developed for the Gamebube....
 
i'm annoyed with BB. When I ordered the XBLA point cards the site was showing over 30 in stock. When I completed the order and went back to check (as I was debating on buying more) there was still over 20 showing...now my order hasn't even been shipped by them yet as they say its on backorder. Am I wrong to think if they had it in stock when I ordered I should be at the front of the queue to ship out? I'm assuming they have no real order to how they ship the orders as otherwise it'd have been sent out already. I contacted them yesterday but never got an answer...figures
 
Welcome to BB. I've ordered items (xbox games on sale) that showed in stock, next day it's backordered and they didn't end up shipping them for a few weeks. Sort of left a bad taste in my mouth for ever ordering something from their site again. Just my personal experience from dealing with them.

Be glad you got any at all. Most people who tried to access the web page that night were forced to walk away empty-handed. I'd have been glad to get in on a back-order at those prices rather than to nothing at all.
 
Finally got Halo Reach today. I originally preordered online via FutureShop back when it was $50 a few months ago, but then I switched over to BB when I saw this sale and it also had the 800 bonus rewards points for preordering Reach. I was skeptical about the bonus points since I thought it was merely taken the $10 off of the $60, but I checked their reward zone site and it has my 800 pts pending, plus the measly 49 pts for the actual game.
 
Anyone think BB will ship our Move controllers on Thurs? I think the street date on them is Friday. I don't think I've ever had release date delivery from BB or FS, just Amazon and Gamestop.

The release date is Friday the 17th. If you got it before, I'd be surprised.
 
I asked if anyone thinks they'll ship it on Thursday, in which case I would receive it on Friday. Gamestop does this and I think Amazon and maybe Futureshop have in the past.

I went in and picked mine up this morning. Just played the demo for The Shoot, loved it. Eye Pet is up next.

I'm rather annoyed that you have to install each demo manually, rather than a complete disc installation.
 
There are only 3, maybe 4 Move demos on the PS store. They should have really made more available to those who are buying just the controller, or even better they should have released Sports Champions today. Still waiting for my controllers to show up but they always arrive the day after shipping so today is the day.

I've never pre-ordered anything from BB before, so hopefully it'll come before the day's end?

They probably should have put all the demos from the disc on the PS Store as well. I would have loved to try The Shoot :(

It depends on where you live, I live in Toronto and they (BB & FS) ship from Mississauga 99.9% of the time so I get Gamestop, Amazon, Futureshop, and Best Buy the day after it ships, even when it ships at the end of the day. Same for Dell I think. Best Buy shipping the day before street date is pretty new, I like it! I preorder all my games from these sites because you can usually get a deal from at least one of them, and you may get it street day or one day later. Worth saving $5-10 or getting a pre-order bonus.

I got Halo Reach and Final Fantasy XIII shipped to me on their release dates. Tracking shows it was shipped from a local warehouse though.

Nice. Is this online ordering from Bestbuy? I've always wanted to go this route but was not sure if you would get the game on release day and it's kinda hassle to go to the store itself to pickup.

Huh, usually Best Buy and Futureshop will leave stuff at the door for me. Or maybe that's just when they can fit it into the mail box. Mine hasn't shown up yet.

My mail-giving specialist came this morning with my sole bill, and won't do more than 1 visit in a day. Looks like I'll be getting it on Monday :( Oh Canada Post...

Yeah, only when it fits in the mailbox. In the past I've had CP leave games and points cards in the mailbox but leave a notice for pickup for larger boxes (PS3 slim last year, Move bundle today).
 
My controllers never showed up. The Canada Post tracking site says expected delivery for today the 17th. Real let down, suppose they'll show up on Monday. Hopefully I'll have Sports Champions show up on Tuesday so I guess it works out.
 
I think something went wrong with my Move shipment, the tracking website still says estimated delivery on the 17th and the status updates stop on the night of the 16th with "Item transferred for processing." This is so frustrating.

Okay one of my orders just showed up, hopefully the second Move controller with come tomorrow. They left it inside the screen door.

Hopefully you get the rest soon... I have had issues with Best buy before where I had wait a few days even after it said I received the item..
 
I got an unexpected Halo Reach: emile t-shirt today, when I was hoping for my PS move. And the worst part is that the shirt is 3 sizes to big for me. Not that I would wear it even if it fits.

It seems to be an issue with Canada Post. Their tracking said that they received both shipments on Thursday night, normally that means it'll be at my door Friday but not in this case. And just to be accurate, the package I got today was not the one from the Labour Day Sale. I had preordered this one I received today after E3 but I ordered a second Move during the Labour day and that's the one that hasn't arrived yet.
 
I got my sports champion move bundle from FS with extra move and navigation controller from BB. The 2 packing slip said the ship date was the 16th, I didn't get the shipped emails until Saturday.

I'm pleased to announce that "Start The Party" has all the Move demos on disc. The individual demos just have to be installed.
 
Sports Champion is fun. But they should have included bandages with the move for any possible injuries that could occur while playing.
 
Yeah Champions is great, I got my second Move and the game today. Very pleased. I intend to pick up RE5 Gold when I can, it appears to be sold out around here.
 
No complaints about Move but Sports Champion, like Wii Sports Resort, was a rental at best for me. Should have just waited for Time Crisis: Razing like I originally planned. :(
