Posted this in the weekly ad thread, but figure more people might see it here. According to Best Buy's Retail Insider, each store will be guaranteed a minimum of 40 consoles, up from the 15 mentioned in the ad. And thankfully, this will be the last weekend they hold them back for Sunday.

The PS3 snippet is rather vague, but I assume it's saying they aren't expecting any additional units at least before Christmas, but then it contradicts itself by saying they must be stocked and sold if received.

40 huh? As much as I hate giving my business to Best Buy, I think I might just have to since other stores don't seem to be getting nearly as many.

According to Wikipedia they have 1100 stores in the US and Canada, so if that includes Canada that's a minimum of 44,000 Wiis. Nintendo is doing a pretty good job of shipping lots of their system a month after launch.

What are you all waiting for?! It's balmy weather and it's already Thursday!! (EST, anyway)

Kidding...for now. But I think with the regionally nice weather, the lines of nearly-panicking parents and such will be pretty brutal.

I'm glad I got my Wii when I did. It was pretty damn cold when I got it on launch day waiting 12 hours....I'll be a miserable bitch if I had to wait for it this Sunday..well Saturday ;)

Good luck to those who are gonna make this (maybe?) last attempt for the year!

The gamestop.com "preorder" for the PS3 states they won't be available to ship until next month, so yeah, the PS3 shipments may have ended for the year, which sucks, but whatever. They are probably going to funnel more into Japan, and probably hold some for Europe, especially if they still plan to launch there in March. I still can't decide if I actually want one, or if I just want one because I don't have one. I mean seriously, there's, at most, three games worth playing on the system at the moment, and none of them are all that great. In all likelyhood, there will be killer exclusives in the future, but I just don't think what's there now is worth $600, much less the absurd ebay prices.

Well unfortunately this is not true. The best buys near me got 21 and 15 each. The targets were getting 15 and 27. I of course didnt get there until 4am and the lines were already past the max :/

Yeah It's all BS. I went to my local best buy and they only got in 18, and I was #30+ in line. I waited longer because I figured they would pull a fast one saying they only had that many when they had more to throw people off (seen it happen at my own Wal-Mart, so...) and I was wrong. If they had 40 they could have met most of the lines demand, but people were already there since midnight it seems.

fuck BB. I'm pissed that I didn't receive the stuff I ordered from them on Black Friday. I wasn't even notified that it was return to them either. Two e-mails to their customer service department and I receive two almost identical e-mails. fuck them.

Not your bullshit again.

Last time you said some shit like having to go to Bestbuy at like 4 am and wait. I went at 8:40 and was 29th of 50.

i went to tru at 3 am. i was 19 out of 22. but the early rumor was they only had 18. its hard to get good info anymore.

went to tru at 3:30 am , was 23 out of 26 . The overnight stock person came out periodically to count us and tell the new comers that there were 26 wiis. The 26th person sold their spot for like $200 or more I believe. It took a long time to checkout.

check out was quick. they had 3 cashiers in the r zone. they let us in at 8 and i was back to my apartment at 8:25. smooth sailing.

Sounds like most stores got between the 15-25 range. I just got home empty handed after a 3 hour wait in 28F temperatures. Fun stuff...

ours handed out 21 'tickets' for wiis at 3 am.... which i found out after going at 5 and waiting for half an hour thinking 'damn this line is short, cool.' oh well :(
