Best Buy Open Box...Now with Gift Cards?

While browsing through my local Best Buy Establishment, I went looking for some good open box deals. Instead what I found what stuff that wasn't even marked down, but came with a gift card...what's the point in that? I understand that they want you to come back and spend the money, but where's the deal?

Anyone else seen this?

Well, that is the deal. Rather than lowering the price so you pay less, they keep the price the same but throw in extra. In this case a gift card. So rather than buying another of the same item with nothing, you are getting a gift card with your purchase.

I don't like that, since obviously cash is better than gift cards, but I can see where they're coming from.
