Should I camp out at a Best Buy or Futureshop for the PS3 launch? I am leaning toward Best Buy as I have more confidence in their stock, but I would have to drive a little while to get to it.

Apparently Wal-Mart is drawing a lottery regardless of what position you are in line, so that option is out.

You're thoughts Canadian CAGs?
Hmm...not sure they're quite similar. I'd probably go Future Shop...
They aren't just similar. They're owned by the same people (FF/BB=THE SAME)

Ya I know... thats what I meant lol. Only reason is because if some people start border jumping they'll go to best buy instead of future shop probably...since its familiar lol

Well in my area, the pre-order for PS3s at the only EB Games in a 100 000+ city was like 20 people in line.....2 hours before the store opened. The closest Best Buy is 40 minutes away in an area of 70 000 people, but a lot closer to a higher metropolitan sector.

In regards to the Wal-Mart info I heard.

A very good friend of mine who I went to college with works in the electronics department there. He said that they'll likely get under 20 PS3s and roughly 80 Wiis. However it doesn't matter really as they are going to be doing random drawing. It sounds extremely dumb and far fetched, but if he could, he'd definitely hook me up with a PS3 on launch. Unfortunately, thats what he said is happening.

Howdy, folks. I'm in Fredericton, NB planning to camp out at Wal Mart for the Wii. My girlfriend works in electronics and today she asked her manager about the campout situation. Apparently the Wii and PS3 orders will run (at least here) like the 360 one did where campers get tickets according to their position in the line (as I understand it) and five people are let in at a time to get a console while the five behind them are taken to McDonald's (which is in the walmart) to get free coffee (!). So, that's how they are doing it here, sounds very orderly and awesome. All the more reason to camp out.
Plus you can use the hot coffee to scald some sucker and nab his PS3 : )
err, drink...for enjoyment.

Reason BB and FS are the same is because FS tried to expand into the US. The problem is that they were successful. BB felt threatended and bought them. (I used to work for FS).

Now the are are identical. It sucks because it gives the illusion of competition, but really their prices, MIR, stock, sales, etc are all almost identical.

They don't really have any competition in Canada.
