I work at Best Buy and I was wondering what the employee discount is and wht the average price for things would be with the discount such as a $1000-$2000 TV, a normal game $60, and a normal movie $20, any info you can provide on the discount and what average price of items are will be appreciated. also, is there anything you can't use the discount on or a limit on how often? Lastly, is it like some other stores to where it can be available to you and immediate family or can you buy things for your family if they pay you? Thanks.

You work at Best Buy or you want to work at Best Buy?

If you're asking this question as a current employee, you can go fuck off.

Why is everyone getting angry, I work there and got the job but I haven't started yet. I was asking questions. Ban-worthy for inquiring if someone has some information about my job because I find it rude to ask the supervisor right away? Your out of your mind. I asked for help, not criticism please.

How about you wait and ask your coworkers?

I'm pretty sure the discount is getting an item at-cost. Which means the only way to figure out the discount is to check the system.

Now, fuck off.

I was being polite then you started answer my question politely and ask me to "fuck off"? Why do you have to be nice then angry a lot of people are like that, thank your for your advice and no thanks for the profanity.
Why do you find it rude to ask right away at your job about something that concerns your job? Makes no sense.
I don't want to come in my first week and say, "Oh, by the way, what's my discount" He may think I'm only working for the discount when I'm not. :(

It's cost + 5%. Starts 90 days after you get hired.

And it took me all of 10 seconds to find on the net. Try it sometime.

I hope you didn't get hired to work in Best Buy's computer dept! :D
price for things would be with the discount such as a $1000-$2000 TV
Store cost for TVs is about 75% what they charge. So $750-$1500
a normal game $60
Around $55
a normal movie $20
Another low profit margin item if it's a recent release. Maybe a dollar off.
any info you can provide on the discount and what average price of items are will be appreciated
The biggest discount is on items like accessories, service plans, car stereo and some appliances.

The discount is pretty worthless unless you're looking to stock up on Monster Cable.

You didn't give this info in the OP. If you had you probably wouldn't have gotten any (or at least very few) negative comments.

If you don't understand how to use google, I'm not sure your customer service skills are going to be of much use. Quit now, the discount sucks anyways.

:nottalking:

I'm a little surprised at this thread.

The guy asked a question. Why the hostility.

I'm glad someone was cool enough to answer the question like a civilized human being.

The rest of you should get a life.

I told him to fuck off with the kindest of intentions.

You will find out about all this information at your employee training. It isn't rude to inquire about benefits at any job.

Don't worry OP, I used to work for the company. They will tell you everything you need your first day. Including how much you get off stuff.
