Best Buy selling used games?

CAGiversary!
The Best Buy near me had started selling used games since the beginning of the year. At first it was no more than a small revolving rack with a few overpriced used PS2, XBox and GC titles, but recently they have totally re-organized the game section and have an entire aisle stocked with used games that they have re-shrink wrapped in their original cases. The prices look kind of high to me such as $14.99 for a used copy of Fable: Lost Chapters. I think this may be a reason that I'm not seeing many brand new games discounted here anymore as I have in the past. They don't want to sell new stuff cheaper than their used.

I have not liked buying used because of the bad dealings I have had in the past with GS/EB and the crap they sell. I was just curious if this is a nationwide thing or just local by me? Has anyone bought used from BB?

Best Buy is testing used games and trade-in's at select stores to see how it works out.

As soon as it goes national, EB / GS are in for a world of hurt because many more people know of Best Buy and go there than EB / GS. Also the fact those fuckers would finally get some competition means they might actually lower their used games.

Yeah, I doubt Best Buy will charge $70 for used Disgaea. Probably more like $40 or $45.

I pray that someone really steps in and gives them some competition. It is absurd what Gamestop charges for used games. Where are the testing stores at? Just in California?

around Dec/Jan I guess they were still trying to work out the pricing system as they were giving 30 bucks trade in credit for games like xbox Doom3, Robocop, Death by degrees and a few other crappy titles :whistle2:O It was nuts, but since Feb, the have changed there prices. At the best buy that is still doing them, there is a boat load of old system games (NES, genesis, game gear, etc)... I wonder what people go for those as in store credit?

I bought Prince of Persia: TT new for $20 ($30 - $10 off coupon [loved that thing!]), and walked back to the trade line and got $30.50 for it. They lost $8 before I left the store. I haven't been back in the past eight months though, hope they're planning something big.

I don't know, I think the only way BB is going to be successful in the market is if they do the same thing they did with their tech department, find a small successful company, buy it out, and incorporate it into the stores.

There are a lot of issues with this market and I hope BB has addressed them, but I doubt they have. Honestly, my money is on this passing by the wayside, but that is me.
