Just got back from Best Buy and they have the Sony PS3 blu-ray remotes at $14.99

It's handy. If nothing else it saves battery life on your controller for gaming.

I read a while ago that they were making a new thinner one with IR support I believe.

That 'satin silver' slim is sexy. As for the Bluray remote my Viera remote sycs up and does most of stuff I need it to do having said that if Sony released a new version I might be interested though.
