Updating List.

All of my old PSX games fetched $2.80 each (no sports titles either)

Nintendo GameCube
Good and Evil - $7.50
Eternal Darkness - $7.50

PS2
Terminator 3 - $7.50
Metal Arms - $7.50
Stella Deus - $30.00

I didn't trade anything in tonight, but I got some prices:

-all gamecube-
Super Smash Brothers: 14.00
Mario Sunshine: 7.50
Mario Party 4: 16.50
Zelda Collector's Edition: 31.50
Ocarina of Time: 16.50
Eternal Darkness: (still) 7.50

I am thinking about trading in Mario Party 4. That's not too bad for a game that's 3 years old. How much does a mint Zelda collector's edition generally get on ebay?

Generally a bit more than that... although you have to factor in Ebay/Paypal fees. I'd still hold onto it though ;)

Also, it'd be nice if people would bring an extra game or two with them to Best Buy each time they trade stuff in, just to get the values on more games... never know when you made find a winner!

Just traded Ps2 Guilty Gear Isuka=$30 still, and GC Pikmin 2=$31.50. This was 12/15 late night. Got the following values but did not trade. Xbox: ghost recon 2 $9.50
GC: Viewtiful Joe 2 $7.50
why on earth would you trade in that game, let alone for $22 at best buy.
I had an absolutely bizarre first experience with Best Buy trade-ins today.

I brought a stack of games with me to trade, had the employee look up the games (VERY slowly...), and then selected a few of them to actually trade-in... after what must have been ten more minutes, he finally printed up a list for me to sign to confirm the trade-in, I quickly signed it, as my girlfriend was mulling around the store, and it had already taken an insane amount of time. Then he went over to the station to put the credit on a gift card, and I decided to look on the piece of paper to see what he had down for me trading in... turns out almost nothing on the list actually matched the games I'd handed him (nor did the number, as there were something like seven or eight games on the list, and I'd only actually given him four); I mentioned that some of the names were wrong, and he said that's how he was supposed to ring them up, and that when they don't find the exact title in the system, they just pick something with a similar name....

: /

And yes, I'm dead serious.

Took nearly half an hour to do the trades, but they made it up to me by handing my a pile of credit that I don't even know if I deserved... very negative first experience, but will try again.

Some values, not that I accepted them (or even brought that game to the store, in the case of Saumrai Western)

Polarium $10
Feel the Magic $5
Gungriffon: Allied Blaze (PS2) $4
Samurai Western $16.50
Timesplitters: Future Perfect (Cube) $7.50
Room Zoom (Xbox) $7.50
Spirits and Spells (Cube) $7.50

It was almost like that for me the first time at Gilroy (though he did get the number of games right - that's just beyond belief). Now they have one guy who seems to be there whenever I want to do trade-ins, and it's still occasionally slow just because of the computer system, but it's orderly and doesn't take more than 10 minutes even for big stacks of games.

Tonight at the Gilroy BB I traded in:

Guilty Gear Isuka $30

Time Splitters Perfect Future GC $30

Custom Robo $16

I got around ~$78 in credit which I used on Guitar Hero. Ironically I got all three games for $10 a piece at TRU green tag sale.

Also I refused to trade in:

La Pucelle for $10

Mario Tennis GC, I forgot but it wasn't good

I shall have my revenge :)

They may have put in Timesplitters 2.

also remember that different systems for the same game give different prices as seen for madagascar (xbox $30 - ps2/gc $16.50)

Does anybody know what I should expect for Soul Calibur 3, Shadow of the Colossus, and Jak X? I went in a couple weeks back and they couldn't take in SotC or Jak X because they weren't in the system yet.

Most than likely 31.50. But trade them here.

Call them. I've never had any problem calling ahead and have always gotten accurate prices.

At least one of the Chicago area Best Buys that are doing trade-ins has refused to give me prices over the phone. They said I had to be in store in order to find out what the trade in value was.

Considering that this was during a blizzard and it would have taken me ~4 hours to get to the store (which is about 25 miles away) I didn't drive down there that night.

heh was this like a week and a half ago? the night that plane skid off the runway at midway? i live about 5 blocks from the spot where the plane ended up at. my g/f was on her way to my place (we were meeting there), and she called to tell me I had to avoid Central if I wanted to get home that night...oh the traffic nightmares...anyway, sorry for the OT post...

The San Bernardino store won't give prices over the phone either. I traded in Devil May Cry 3 (x2) for $30/each. Also found out that Samurai Legend Musashi only get's $9.50 now. Both are on Ps2.

That sucks that your BBs aren't giving prices out over the phone. That's a good idea, Best Buy: make the process more difficult than it has to be and we'll be sure to participate more. Sheesh. Try doing a focus group or two sometime.

It sounds like that this isn't official policy as my BB has been doing it for me. Probably just employees not wanting to do it rather than not being allowed to do it.

I just traded in Mario Party 4 for 16.50. I also got prices on the following (but didn't trade):

Gradius Galaxies (GBA) - 4.40
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA) - 4.40

I was going to check on the GBA Metroid games but figured they'd only fetch the same as these GBA games so I didn't bother.

sadly, i can confirm that pikmin 2 is now only $7.50...did it drop quickly or was i just a bit slow on this one?

I've updated the list with the new prices. I can confirm Metal Slug 4/5 and Romance of the Three Kingdoms at $30. I've also moved Zelda: Four Swords to the $31.50 price, as that was the trade in value this evening.

The plot thickens! Strange that it'd take a dip then double again. Too bad we don't have an insider working at BB corporate.

Couple things:

- I was quoted 41.99 for XBox Black Hawk Down. Did you get a different quote?
- I was quoted 1.00 for Samurai Western. Again, did you get something different?

Also, I saw a guy trade in Soul Calibur III for PS2 and get 31.50. He tried trading in the latest Dragon Ball Budokai title but it wasn't in the system yet so it wouldn't take it. And Psychonauts PS2 is 30.

My mistake. I forgot to remove the previous PS2 Samurai Western and just plain goofed on the Xbox Black Hawk Down. Too much TRU excitement today. I didn't check prices on either of those while I was there. Thanks for pointing those out.

Also added SCIII and Psychonauts.

I got $33.75 for RO3KX and $30 for Psychonauts at Gamerush. Very surprised that GR beat Best buys' values. Also you can update the list to reflect that Xbox Sid Meirs Pirates is worth $22. Thanks alot for doing this.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX $7.50
Romance of the Three Kingdoms X $30
Pikmin 2 $7.50
PS2 Psychonauts $30.00
Xbox TimeSplitters Future Perfect $22.00
Xbox Fatal Frame II $4.00
Resident Evil 4 $22.00
PS2 Metal Slug 4/5 $30.00
PS2 Black Hawk Down $30.00

It was definitely quite an adventure yesterday: I raided four different ToysRus stores, and managed to find most of what I was looking for between the four of them (I still have one extra copy of RE4, and am looking for Mario Party 4 or 5, if anyone wants to trade). Obviously managed to pick up a couple of extra games while doing it... one of the stores was a real treasure trove, where I managed to grab four copies of ROTKX (and still left two there for whoever might come after me).

The Best Buy trade process was loooong as usual. I got there just moments after this guy who had nearly thirty games (all old Xbox stuff)... I lost track of prices, but most of it was ringing up for between $6 and $10; I do remember Fight Night Round 2 (Xbox) got him $30. I was up next, and during the prolonged period of time it took them to check my games, I met fellow CAG yeah-yeah, who kindly alerted me that Black Hawk was trading for a lot, and that the local ToysRus still had a few copies left. I dashed over there afterward, and was able to buy a lone copy of it (the department manager was hording all three copies behind the shelf for himself, and he reluctantly agreed to sell me one), as well as a copy of Pirates, which I'd been looking for all day. Returned to Best Buy and traded Black Hawk in, along with one or two other things I hadn't brought in the first time...

Up to about $550 in credit at Best Buy--thanks OP and all who continue to update this :)

Now that the FYE days are basically over with, it's nice to have a new place to turn to....

And major props to my girlfriend (shhhh, soon to be fiance) for putting up with my wheeling and dealing yesterday.

This was probably my fault. One of the guys at TRU helped me out a ton - he used the 5 off 25 coupon for me both times I was in there and I didn't even ask. The second time I was there, I only grabbed two games, but he reminded me that if I grabbed a third, he could use the coupon again. I figured the least I could do was to give a little back. Glad you got one, though.

Yeah, she's a keeper. She didn't look bored or pissed at all, and happily chatted with me while you finished your business. Tell her I said hi, and it was good meeting both of you.

Psychonauts, Soul Calibur 3, and Black Hawk Down all got $30 (SC3 got 31.50 I believe) when I traded them in today. Man I love TRU...oh and BB too.

Only specific stores are doing it. By the way, can anyone confrim Bloodrayne 2 (XBOX) is still 30.00? I tried it and it is not a very good game.

I got a quote for Bloodrayne 2 (PS2 and Xbox version) for $7.50. Checked at two different stores. I will update the official list tomorrow (a bit sleepy, and I ate too much turkey.)

Also, to find out which stores are doing it, seven of them are listed at http://tradein.bestbuy.com/. I believe there may be some that aren't listed.
