Best Buy trip and Nightshade question

I just got back from Best Buy where I picked up Midway Arcade Treasures and Robotech Battlecry for $5. I also got Nightshade for $15. I am interested in the game, and I had a decent time with Shinobi, but I've been reading a lot of negative reviews. Should I hang on to it, or try to trade it to my local FYE (where they have a used copy for $26, so I would think they'd give me $30)?

Do they sell unopened trade-ins as new games? Because if not, they won't give you more than what they charge for a used copy.

Well, I'm not entirely sure what they do, but I brought in an unopened Beyond Good and Evil that was $5 and they gave me $13 for it. Though I think their used price was $12 or $13. But shouldn't they have given me much less then what they sell for used, like EB or Gamestop normally would?

Yes.

But we all know how stupid FYE is and some games they will give more trade in credit for a used game than they are selling it for new. I got $14.99 for an opened Syphon Filter Omega Strain when it was selling for $12.99 new.

And there's also the case of Outrun 2 selling for $29.99 used and $19.99 new with the trade in value being $19.50

I believe they take new or used games as the trade-in price for the game in general. FYE will take your copy of a new game, and just sell it as used, putting it to used condition. EB, FYE, Wherehouse, or whatever will give you the same amount you'd get for a used game as the same amount for a new game.

So there would be no difference if I sold it to them right away, or played it and traded it to them if I didn't like it, is what you are saying?
