why no free guide with the other two versions .... all i can figure out is the other 2 is sold out

So Burnout is $50? I can't believe it went up $10 before release, especially after being advertised at $40.

Oh well, nothing good this week...thanks OP

Nothing all that great except the Call of Duty pack...

Thank you regardless though, the information is great to have, deals pertinent to me or not.

Hmm.... so does that mean that Lockdown for GC IS out now? Everyone else had the release pushed back to 9/22. I might have to call over to GR now.
Radiata Stories for $35 after GGC isnt a bad deal .
Too bad Radiata Stories got horrible reviews both in Japan and here... I can feel it diving to a 29.99 MSRP pretty soon. It's an ok deal if you absolutely must have to have the game though.

And that Sims 2: Nightlife deal is pretty great, but I'm hoping Circuit City puts it on sale for $25 or so.

8.0 isn't that horrible.

I don't think a 74% average on Gamerankings is backing up any sort of opinion that this is a decent game. If anything, that just cements the fact that this will see a price drop before too long.

I see this game suffering the Suikoden IV effect. An anticipated RPG gets lukewarm reviews, people lose interest, and it slowly slides down the price scale. Now that I know that every retailer under the sun is stocking it, it's only a matter of time before someone like Best Buy drops the price down to blow out their copies.

I'm surprised Famitsu gave it such high scores, since everywhere else I read it wasn't that well received.

Like I said, $35 is a great price for those people who are still looking forward to it, but I've got so much stuff to play I can wait until it's 30 and under.
It's worth buying for the art direction alone... is there any way to get 5$ off if your Best Buy doesn't carry gift cards?
Use the PS2 coupon that's in a different thread.

Dude how is 8/10 "lukewarm"? You act like this game is suppose to be Halo 3 or something. It's already scored higher than Suikoden IV and both GS and IGN gave it the same rating within .3.

That is weird... they probably have for some reason too many of that version, and not enough of the others.

So... is your username actually based on an object from an episode of sliders?

Yawn.

Stop trying to make a big deal out of something - the point I made multiple times was that I felt that the game will see a price drop, and after READING the reviews (I could care less what scores they give) that the game is very blah, and not nearly what it could have been.

Please, just drop it, stop trying to make an issue out of nothing, unless you're somehow offended that I feel it will see a price drop in 3 - 6 months.

I think this is why... the Best Buy here has tons of Lab and Friends but nothing else, same with almost every other store I've been too.

Rumor has it that Nintendo didn't make alot of copies of Dachsund and Friends, maybe it's the same with Chiauaaua (I can't spell it).

I'm not making a big deal out of anything. My only concern is I dont understand how you can say a game got "horrible" reviews when it clearly doesnt.

Radiata Stories, here I come. I just knew it was going to go on sale, so I decided to pass on picking it up on release. I absolutely can't wait to play it.:)

Radiata Stories will be one of the best games of the year. That's all I'm going to say. Star Ocean 3 was the best game last year, so I feel Radiata Stories will do mostly the same.
Hasn't GoW been 49.99 forever?
No, it's been $39.99 for quite some time :) This BETTER be BB's lame attempt to suck all the possible profits from it right before it goes GH. I've waited long enough for GoW, you can only play the demo so many times.

Famitsu 8 / 9 / 9 / 10 - 36 platinum [Jan 2005]
Great. I have more trust in Famitsu than any American magazines over here. My last favorite game was Kessen 3 and it also scored a platinum from Famitsu, while over here, it merely got a 7 average from American magazines.

You made me laugh comparing a Halo to an excellent great game:lol: Halo is terrible, especially number two which is just about mediocre, if not less (i.e. 7). You lost all credibility in my eyes the minute you started saying that Halo 3 was going to be something out of the ordinary, or just something spectacular. it's going to be teh same recycled crap as the first two, but this time, with an even worse story mode!

Edit: Still, regardless of this fact I must agree with your assertion that Radiata Stories will most likely be a great RPG. It can get blasted in the American media, but I have stopped relying on them along time ago. It's made by the same people that did Star Ocean as well as a slew of other of my favorite Enix games, so it should be good, and better than mediocre.

Burnout Revenge was supposed tto have an MSRP of $39.99! It said so in the advertisement that came with my Burnout 3!

If it's $50 everywhere (and given EA's track record when it comes to pricing PSP titles, this will be no different), I'll just get it at BB with the GGC coupon. I just hope it doesn't require a firmware upgrade (if it does, I'll hold off on the purchase for now); I enjoy my homebrew and EMU apps.
Wait, is the free trainer guide only for one version of nintendogs? And the free guide deal starts on 8/11?
help

Halo 3 was not the best example; and I totally agree with your assertion. I just didnt understand how he could say this game had gotten "horrible reviews here in American and Japan" which it obviously hasnt and he kept avoiding my original point once I linked the Famitsu one. Maybe his Babblefish was broken or something when he was allegedly reading all the Japanese reviews for this game .

I'll be getting Radiata as well. i've waiting for a sale and 35$ after the coupon is just what I've been looking for.

It may not be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but for that price I'm willing to give it a chance.

Thanks for posting, but nothing for me. Radiata Stories is very tempting, but I made the mistake of buying Star Ocean 3 the week after release for that price and I haven't touched it yet. I'll wait for at least another $10 off. I can't imagine there will be a shortage of these.
I can't imagine there will be a shortage of these.
Shit, we even got them in at K-Mart, and we got in at least six copies (it's rare we ever get more than 2 or 3 for a release, other than a big big name).

This thing will be dropping soon, I figure.

Just for those wondering, the 2nd one is Depths of Darkhollow, the 9th? expansion.

Does anyone know if there's any coupons towards the 24.99 price of EQ2: DOF? I know there used to be a gamer's card for $5 off ?

Yep, there's a new GGC: Shimmery Blue, $5 off any video game/accessory $19.99 or more. Expires in 2007. Not every Best Buy seems to have them phased in yet.

Actually using this GGC on PC Games is very YMMV... every single time I have tried, the computer wouldn't take it, and the manager ALWAYS tells me PC Games are software, not video games, and by video games they only mean consoles and handhelds.

That's crazy thinking. Especially for games that are available for both PC and console. The computer doesn't recognize the coupon correctly for ANYTHING. Both times I've used the new GGC for console games, it shows a coupon for $0.00. I got stuck having a huge yellow receipt both times. That was at different locations, to boot. I shake my head at best buy for offering these things 4 feet away from the registers, yet not have the system correctly recognize them if you try to use it. :shame:

Well, from what I've noticed, the computer stops recognizing it when you're trying to use it on sale items. I've had no problems using the coupon on regular DS games (hell I just used one on Pac N Roll), but when I try ANY game that's on sale the register starts to lock up.

But really, Best Buy has always been anal about classifying PC Games as video games. I remember one sale, buy 2 games and save $20 bucks or something like that, the register wouldn't do it for PC Games. I went through two managers, who told me the same thing: Best Buy classifies it as "PC Software" and not video games, so there is nothing they could do.

Having the GGC work for me at BB is one of the few things I haven't had an issue with. They just scan either it first or the game, press total or one of the buttons, the computer then asks them whether they would like to use the coupon, to which they press Y (for Yes) and the transaction goes through.

On the few PC games I have bought from them, I have also never had a problem. The last PC game I got using a GGC was probably KOTOR II for PC for a gift for my friend. GGC'ed the sucker and everything went fine.
