The L2 and R2 buttons are this are more like the PS4's than the Dual Shock 3's - it'd be tempting if I didn't have a BF 3 pad.

Weird, they changed the controller layout of the new ones I guess.

I have purchased 4 afterglow controllers wireless for my ps 3 and they all have the analog where the dpad is, like a 360 controller.  That is why I bought them.

Neat little controllers, I've had the rubber worn off of the left analog on 3 of mine though, I guess from all the Fifa usage I use to play, also they don't take well to getting thrown against walls when you rage, they tend to crack and break easy, not that I would do such a thing.
