Best Buy YMMV Thread

Can we have a thread where we share deals we find at our local Best Buys? Of course they're always YMMV but it would give us ideas of what to look out for.

I have two local best buys and each of them had different deals:

Best Buy #1:

  • Dragon Quest Builders 2 (NSW): $15.99
Best Buy #2:

  • Disgaea 4 (NSW): $15.99
  • Dead Cells (NSW): $10.99
  • Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (3DS): $12.99 (didn't get this, very sad)
  • Some other 3DS title I was extremely sad I missed out on (3DS): $10.99
There were some others but these were the ones that stood out the most that I can remember.

Also for anyone who doesn't know, if your Best Buy has a price placard out for a game but they're sold out, you can ask an employee to order it for you from their website and they will match their in-store price! Of course they have to have stock on the website though.

How/where are you seeing this offer? I was using safari browser and did not see any joycon deal under member offers.
 
Like a month ago I got a $10 promo cert for one of those spend $100 get $10 offers for my best buy plus. Used the promo cert on a pre order, anyone know if I cancel the pre order if I'll get that promo cert back or is it just gone?
 
You should get it back as points. That's what I have been doing to bank my certificates. I have the Best Buy credit card and that allows banking, not sure that will change anything if you do not have it.
 
It wasn't a preorder, but I used a promo cert on an item for store pickup, item was ready for pickup and then I cancelled. Cert was refunded as points.

Yeah I didn’t but appreciate the input! Used controllers are just ick. Reason why I have become a first party controller hoarder.

Similarly, this is a cautionary tale as to why, traditionally speaking, if for example you see something like Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons marked-down at Walmart in particular you should eye them suspiciously and treat them with a high degree of skepticism.
 
Welp, caught an Excellent condition open box Astrobot PS5 Disc edition online for $345. I wanted another for the bedroom (and so my hubby and I can both play togerher and at the same time), so we'll see how it comes. Not worried about getting Astrobot code included, but hope that it's in good shape. The last 2 open box items I ordered ended up being filled with brand new items, so maybe my luck will hold out! LOL.

ETA Well it was canceled this morning. Boo.

I couldn’t find the ps5 disc astrobot edition, so I ordered a ps5 digital astrobot edition (fair condition) instead for $315 after taxes.
I picked it up today from best buy and to my pleasant surprise it was a complete-in-box ps5 DISC astrobot edition with original box, ps5 disc console, controller, cables, manuals and unused astrobot voucher.
Awesomeness!
Felt like monopoly: bank error in your favor, collect $150 🤣

I thought I was being left out of this round of random reward certs, but in the last hour I have gotten 3 emails (all about the same $10 cert). Last time I got one of these limited time certs, I bought an Oura Ring 3 sizing kit for $10, because it came with a $10 cert that doesn't expire (someone in this thread suggest it or I never would have known). Looks like they have the same deal now for the Oura Ring 4 sizing kit.
 
No reward cert for me this round, I would have used it for one of the upcoming swtich games I 100% want. Like one of the Trails games or something that likely won't get a lot of sales.
