Best Buy YMMV Thread

Can we have a thread where we share deals we find at our local Best Buys? Of course they're always YMMV but it would give us ideas of what to look out for.

I have two local best buys and each of them had different deals:

Best Buy #1:

  • Dragon Quest Builders 2 (NSW): $15.99
Best Buy #2:

  • Disgaea 4 (NSW): $15.99
  • Dead Cells (NSW): $10.99
  • Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (3DS): $12.99 (didn't get this, very sad)
  • Some other 3DS title I was extremely sad I missed out on (3DS): $10.99
There were some others but these were the ones that stood out the most that I can remember.

Also for anyone who doesn't know, if your Best Buy has a price placard out for a game but they're sold out, you can ask an employee to order it for you from their website and they will match their in-store price! Of course they have to have stock on the website though.

The app keeps telling me I have a cert to use by tomorrow, but it's not there. Hopefully it stops popping up after tomorrow. I think I already used the one I'm being alerted to.
 
Used my surprise $10 and $5 on one of the FF Commander Decks. Wish you could at least do online/store pickup to see what's in stock on the FF stuff though.
 
Hey, I got a $10 cert that expires today. I used it on the $10 psn gift bday card. I almost pulled the trigger on the NS2 pro controller which is discounted to $75 for my best buy plus members but decided against it since I have entirely too many NS1 pro controllers.
 
Something I meant to post earlier, BB actually sent me an advertisement in the mail and it mentioned a $5 cert that would be added to my account and gave me a coupon with a QR code on it if I shopped in store. The cert expires July 25th.

I am not a paid member, just still have my old original free rewards account. IF you never get these certs in your account but do get the mailer with the cert coupon on it, then it's likely you have two accounts with BB and it's the other one that is getting the cert.

There are enough games coming out that it's easy enough for me to use one to preorder a game. Like on switch for me that's Trails in the Sky 1st, Trails beyond the Horizon, or Dragon Quest 1 & 2. Then there's also DK Banaza on Switch 2 in a few weeks. If you can't figure it out before it expires then just preorder something coming next year and then cancel it to get the cert reissued when you find something you do want.

Probably the same as mine which was in that mailer (I think it was last week). There's another bb add showing in my mail today as well. Seems like they are trying to get some stuff sold and tying it to July 4th.
 
So oddly a new advertisement came in the regular mail today "Build your Back to School checklist" and it had a $10 cert inside. It said it would be added to my account as well (though it isn't there yet).

So there may be a second mailer and a second cert people should keep an eye out for.
 
That second advertisement from the mail with the cert still hadn't posted the $10 cert to my account so I went back and read it again and the fine print shows that it's good from 7/5 until 9/1. So, tomorrow check your account if you are in this group and maybe you'll get another cert. While it's nice we get a bit more time, I think I'm stacking my last one from the previous week for $5 and this $10 and probably just going to buy Donkey Kong Bananza. It won't be cheap ... but that'll make it $55+6.50 tax... $61.50.

Thought about doing that but at a point where I just don't want the extra stuff anymore, no matter how much I may like a game.

Glad some folks were able to pick it up from Best Buy. Looks to be sold out now (again).

Yeah I’m most likely canceling that preorder as well. It’s still available to order so it isn’t a limited item, just another massively produced one. A friend had the. A basic edition preordered from amazon and ended up returning it within 30 days for a refund. Same boat as me, way too many games in the backlog, no hurry to play it.
