So, I was out shopping today picking up some games I wanted.

I went to Best Buy specifically for two items.

Dragon Age 2 for the the PS3 and Transformers Armada the Complete series.

Both items were cheaper at other retailers (DA2 $9 at Target, Armada $21 at Amazon), but I like my bestbuy points, so I decided to have Bestbuy pricematch them.

So they tried to order the items to my house, only to find out both are not able to be order through their warehouse.

So they had me call up their online store to place the order, during the order process, I was told neither item is covered by their "Low Price Guarantee" so neither can be price matched.

They then proceeded to explain they can only price match items with their low price guarantee, and if the item can be price matched it will say "Low Price Guarantee" above the add to cart button.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I never ordered over the phone or online with best buy, but I have in store done the price match. From what I remember none I the items I got said "low price gauaranter" and i remember checking because someone had posted on a thread a story similar to yours. Maybe it's ymmv? Although if you click on the policy on their website, I don't think it mentions the image/phrasing?

They are able to do it in store because most of the time it is at the managers discretion. When I was working there, if you could prove it was on sale at a competitor then we matched. Online is a lot more strict as they have systems in place that don't allow the overrides...

Still, I've never had such problems.. but its usually around the holidays when business would be more fierce/competitive.
