Best Cube 4-Player games

I bought some controllers and am now wondering which multiplayer games are worth buying. So far, I have Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Monkey Ball 2.

Timesplitters 2 is awesome... ad not too expensive either. Mario Party 4 or 5 are all right.... not as fun as the N64 ones for me though.

I wanted to get my hands on Soccer Slam and Beach Spikers during the CC sale, but the 2 stores nearby had horrendous selections. I never played it. Are these games good multiplayer material?

mario kart: double dash.. cant forget that.. and the mp4 and 5 sucked compare to the previous mp on n64 but eh get it if your a fan of mp
But you alreday got the bes tone anyways... Super Monkey Ball 2!!!
Haha. I think that game is so awesome. The main game is good and all but the multiplayer is the best. I had a pretty hard time finding it (which was kinda odd); I got one of the last ones on the shelf at BB a few months ago and I'm not sure if they restocked that game.

Well, you have 2 of the top ones already! Congrats, enjoy'em!

But if money is burning a hole in your pocket, I recommend: Godzillia:DAMM, TimeSplitters 2, and Hunter: the Reckoning. For 3rd person shooters try Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Freedom Fighters, or Army Men: Sarge's War.

All can be had for Cheap!

I enjoy playing Beach Spikers, it's simplistic, but a good arcadey version of beach volleyball. Oh and the winning animations are hilarious.

Don't forget about Bomberman. Much more to its roots on the GC than the N64 manifestations (at least for multiplayer.)

Zelda Four Swords is a great multi-player game. Mario Kart DD, Mario Party 4 or 5, maybe FFCC. For two-player I say Time Splitters 2.

I hear Four Swords is great. But you have all ready what we play 99% of the time; Super Smash Brothers Melee (though I think it's better as a 2 player game)..

If you have 4 people playing, play one of the Mario Party games. GREAT fun with 4 players, but don't settle for anything less than 4. The computer controlled players suck and the game is much less fun that way.

If you have 2 or 3 people, try MarioKart.

how come no one said Custom Robo. That game is pretty fun and there is a whole lot of customization for the robots. The only bad thing is you have to go through the stupid story mode to unlock parts. You don't really start out with anything but the standard parts.

Yes, I can forget MK:DD...multiplayer is terrible compared to MK64. The design of battle levels is atrocious and it just doesn't have that "frenzy" feel.

Anyway, I highly recommend SSBM (which you've already got) and:

Timesplitters 2
007: Agent Under Fire & Nightfire (not for everyone)
Bomberman Generations & Jetters
Zelda: Four Swords (if you want co-op)

I also recommend Timesplitters 2. That game has tons of mult-player options.

A few others:
Beach Spikers
Madden or NBA Live/2K3 if you're into sports
Wave Race Blue Storm (not a great game, but it can be found fairly cheap and it does feature decent multi-player)

I hear you there, I liked the game a lot, but the multiplayer was definately crippled in this version. I don't know what they were thinking, but I don't even really play battlemode because it doesn't have the same frantic feeling as the 64 game, which was all the real fun.

My friends and I always play 4 player smash. We should get Mario Kart: DD and try something new :)

First off I'd like to point out that Zelda: 4 swords requires a GBA and link cable for each player. If you somehow manage to come up with all the requirements 4 swords is a blast.

A game not mentioned is Ultimate Muscle, it may not be the deepest wrestling game, but it's still multiplayer goodness.

funny, I felt that the complete opposite was true. Nowadays MK64 is just dated.
