Hello, I'm new here to cheapassgamer.com

This is also my first time posting.

Anyways, today I received a GBA SP 'shell' (it was silver and red) from the mail (I ordered it from Ebay). So I spent alot of hours doing this. I made a some mistakes if not alot because this was my first time actually doing this. I opened the whole game boy advance sp and you know the rest.

Everything was going perfectly (after I fixed alot of mistakes) but there was ONE HUGE PROBLEM! For some reason, the screen doesn't work properly. It must of been when I was trying to open the folding part of the SP.

I'm gonna attempt to fix this problem but I doubt I"ll fix this.

So my other choice is to buy a new GBA SP (which is a good thing since my old one wasn't in good condition and what not). I would prefer the Retro GBA SP, but any color would be nice (except onyx, since it was the one I had).

So please, if anyone can find a good price/deal for a GBA SP let me know. I don't mind spending $80 on a new one (sheesh, my onyx SP cost me $180 a week before it was released in North America and because the Onyx color was supposed to be Japan exclusive but Nintendo decided to bring it to North America)

Thanks! :)

The best ongoing deals is at Fry's or Outpost.com. Fry's will be cheaper overall if you have one. Outpost.com will kill you with shipping. I see you're in CA so you will be charged sales tax. Fry's has been running $69.xx sales about every other day for the past two weeks. Remember that the MSRP is $80 now and you can get that price anywhere.

Fye has it for 59.99 AR.

Welcome aboard!
Yes, but you have to spend an extra forty dollars on two GBA games. Not bad if you were going to make the purchase of those GBA games anyway. But ultimately you'rer forced to spend $120 for a $20 rebate.
Shoot! I kinda missed fine print on the rabate form about two games.
On the other side if you trade in there it's worth it .

Can you trade in GBA sytems at FYE? I called and asked my local FYE and they said no.

Thanks for helping.

I think I'll just go to Fry's and see if the price is a little bit lower. Or I'll just look for a good deal at stores. Or I might just pay the full price.

thanks again!

And CheapA$$Gamer.com rocks!

I guess I missed this FYE deal. I know that the same offer was available the same week that FireRed/LeafGreen came out but only lasted during that one week according to the rebate slip I had at the time. Those titles both had $15 rebates so if you bought the two Pokemon titles ($39.99), you'd qualify for the $20 off the SP. I almost worked that deal with the now expired buy $50 GC get $10 free deal but the managers wouldn't allow it. Long story. That would have been a sweet deal. After the rebates, it would have turned out to be about $100 and some change.
