Best Disc Resurfacing?

I just received Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions from Goozex and the disc is a bit scratched. It plays, but I'm one of those OCD people that like to have discs and cases that look really nice.

Can anyone here vouch for the best place to get a game disc resurfaced? I've tried going to Gamecrazy in the past to resurface a game, but I just was not very satisfied with the results. The disc had a "fanning" pattern to it after being cleaned. I know there is probably no method to make it look just like new again, but is the Gamecrazy disc buffing the best there is?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I was going to recommend GC as they have done the best job IMO.

I think it depends on who does it though. I knew the manager at one so he spent some extra time on them and he did a really good job; you could barely tell it was resurfaced. But then another guy did one at the same place using the same equipment and it looked fairly bad.

So basically I am no help, sorry.

Yeah, I am the same way, I think maybe Gamecrazy is the best. I was pissed when I got Lost Odyssey and Disc 4 was a bit nicked up

We don't have any Game Crazy's that I know of on this coast, or at least none near Connecticut that I know of. I also would like to know a good re-surfacer as some of my favorite games (also from Goozex) have come scratched. Most games I get on there are near mint, but some of the older PSX/PS1 games aren't so lucky. I assume there should be some sort of mail service to have them fixed up but I'm not ready to send out my games to some random company just yet ^_^;;

I use Hastings all the time to get my used games resurfaced. For $1.99, the employees take their time to make sure it looks good :)

I'm guilty of being a scratch-free freak as well. In fact, I had a fit when some kid on eBay sold me a disc which was scratch all up, it worked, but nonetheless...

Anyway, my suggestion since if you are much like me, no one will ever do a job good enough unless you do it yourself. I bought my own machine. The Simo R1. It is a great little machine that does an excellent job. it will remove all but the deepest scratches. I got mine off of eBay. Do a search for "disc repair" or "Simo R1".

There are Gamecrazy stores in CT. The one in Orange recently closed, but the Wallingford and New Haven stores are still open.

They are very good for getting scratched games to work, but if you're looking for a pristine disc, they ain't what you are looking for.

A friend got Hollywood video to do it for my gears disc a while back, and that fixed everything. Since gamecrazy is owned by Hollywood video I would supposed they use the same type of machine.
