Best Game Rental Service?

Hi all, was wondering what the best/most cost effective method of renting games is since there are a ton of games which I want to play, but know I'll only play once. The only physical store around me is Blockbuster and at $9 a pop its pretty pricey. I was mostly between Gamefly and Blockbuster by mail service and was wondering if anyone had any reviews or experinces with either service (be them bad or good) to share. Thanks guys!
 
I've had gamefly for 1.5 years now and it has been very good to me. I bought a gift subscription and then gave it to myself. It was pricey to start out, but it actually saves you money over paying month by month. I recommend 2 games out at a time so you'll always have something to play when shipping the other.

If you have any red boxes near you, that may be better for shorter games.

Thanks :D Just wondering, do you have any issues getting newer games (1-2 month old games) with gamefly? Like if I signed up would I have issues or a long wait getting Child of Eden or Duke Nukem Forever?
 
GameHuddle.com has treated my friends and I very well over the past 6 months.

I left GameFly after 2 years of being a member due to the reason you stated. I kept putting new games on my rental list and would wait 1-2 months before I could get them.

Pricing is on par with GF and BBV and it is pay per day ($1 per day for the first 5 days and $0.40 per day after that.). For one game that works out to $15 per month for those too lazy to work it out.

Of course the real benefit for some is that you can also share your your games and get monthly credit towards cash payout or rentals.

When using Gamefly, I got about four games per month. When using Blockbuster, I got at least twice as many and I had the option of returning them in person and picking up new games right then and there. And it was cheaper. I say go for Blockbuster.
 
been using gamefly for years now with no issues.. real easy to get a new release on release day if you have an open slot...

plus you get member benefits and discounts..

last time i checked blockbuster online, they had like all old games.
 
I would do redbox but the closest one is a couple miles away, which isn't bad for one trip but if I'm renting 2 games a week (I've got a CRAP ton of free time) the time and gas adds up. Seems like mixed signals from both, but I do have a Gamefly shipping center within my state, but on the other hand blockbuster is cheaper. How fast is the turnaround time for blockbuster by mail and gamefly?
 
Blockbuster's turnaround time is comparable to Netflix's. Send the games back and you should get new ones within 2-3 days. That is, unless you go in, then it's immediate (this depends on your plan, I believe). For Gamefly, it's about a week. As I said in another thread somewhere, I once sent back Netflix and Gamefly at the same time. By the time I got more games, I had already received movies from Netflix, watched them, sent them back, and got another batch of movies.

And I have a Gamefly center in my state as well. They are about 3 hours from where I live. It doesn't make the process any faster.
