I am hoping to spend under $600 for a 24-30" LCD. Problem is some LCD's don't like 480p like the westinghouses and others with the ATI. Any good suggestions? What do people here use?

I have a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV and all of the Wii & virtual console games look good, even running in 480i. You can get my TV for around $1100 now, but I bet the 23" or 27" version looks good too and might be more in your price range.

Uhhh, crap. I just bought one with the ATI chipset.
Why don't they like 480p?

PS3 looks great though.

Sony's TVs have EXCELLENT scalers, so 480i and p actually look good (once you get past the lower resolution). (Not to mention the panels are excellent, fast, etc.)

I'd highly recommend a KDL-32s2010, though it's usually $1200ish. You won't get a good 32" lcd for under $1000.

I've got that one, works wonderfully.[/QUOTE]

Wow, that is a great deal. What are the inputs? Buy.com doesn't have a clear answer.

EDIT: Hmm, it seems the Niko has a 22ms reponse time, which is very slow. The Olevia I listed above, while quite a bit smaller, has a 8ms reponse time. Definitely take that into account if you want to use this LCD for gaming.

I'm not comparing my screen side-by-side to other screen lest I should notic a glaring difference. ;) I play all types of games on it and it's great.

It has VGA, DVI, and a bevvy of component, composite, and Svideo.

22ms isn't fast enough. It's usable, but it can be really ugly depending on the game. I've upgraded all my screens to 8ms in the past year, and there's a HUUUUUGE difference.

Olevia and Westinghouses are both great tv's for great prices. I just bought an Olevia at Microcenter and I love it.

I'd say hit Dell up for one of their TV's and get the accident insurance. They may cost a lot and with the insurance a lot more, but hey, you can enjoy playing without all those lame strap ons.

Costco.com had a 32" Sceptre LCD HDTV for $600 (no rebates).
Costco has a lifetime return policy which is a plus...

Costco has a 23" Samsung LCD for $599.99. The great thing about Costco is that you can return it in a year or two and get full money back to upgrade to a newer screen. Just read up on the return policy for the details.
