best party game?

CAGiversary!
i know that the wii is full of bland titles packed with mini games, but can anyone tell me if there are any out there that are any good? i've got a bunch of friends that like to play games occasionally, but they seem to go for games that are quick and easy to pick up. we all have lots of fun with wii sports, but there isn't much on wii play that we get into. any suggestions?

wario ware smooth moves is a lot of fun
rayman 1 was a good placeholder until wario came out, but rayman 2 might be good (haven't played it).

I never really liked the multiplayer in warioware, it had significantly less interesting modes than the gamecube one. But I guess if you want to acommodate more than 4 people, it's alright.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree, but I'll give my recommendation anyways. Sonic and the Secret Rings. IMO, the most underrated party mode on the Wii. I've played this several times with friends, and it was a blast. From reviews, I was only expecting the party mode to hold our interest (4 people) for about an hour or less, but we ended playing for 3-4 hours. And as a side mode to one of the best 3D Sonic games, I'd say it was a pretty good value.

Mario Party should never have been released. Smooth moves or wii sports right now. Smash bros will take the title very soon.

Hmm, I found Mario Party to be just fine, way more accessible than Rayman Rabbids. Haven't played the second one, so I can't say for that one. I also like Wario Ware a LOT, but it's a bit skimpy on multiplayer. Super Monkey Ball was a mess, especially given how awesome the Gamecube games were in party mode.

In short, while everyone else dogs on it, I liked Mario Party a lot.

SO TRUE! Rayman Rabbids is just funny to watch everyone struggle. Mario Party would be better, but it can be frustrating to play at times even with friends. But I enjoy the multiplayer of MP than the single player mode.

Another fun game is the Big Brain Academy Wii Degree. I mean testing your smarts on easy-hard puzzle-like games and competing can be pretty intense. Make sure the Wii motes have enough batteries.

I'd definitely say Rayman Raving Rabids 2. The first one isn't really a multiplayer game. The second one was designed pretty much exclusively as a party game; just be aware that it sucks as a single player game. You need at least 3 people and preferably 4 with wiimotes and nunchuks for it to become fun.

Why recommend something you havent played..?

yeah, my vote is for warioware being great coz of the quick pick-up-and-play, and the hectic 3 seconds of "what the hell am i doing" is awesome to watch... it only needs one wiimote, too (easy on the budget). also, the confusion of trying to tell people what to do is priceless!

i've only played rayman with 4 people when i visited a friend's (he's got 2 nunchucks as do i), so it worked out. that game is fun to watch as well. still, it's $$$ to get the complete controller set.

mario party tended to get boring with too many turns each legit game, so quick minigames were the way to go for that.

rayman raving rabbids 2 is definetely fun. Reviews underrate it a little I think. I'd say 7.5. The multiplayer is fun though the rabbids are just extremely hilarious.

I didn't recommend it. I threw the title out there. Im sure someone out here has played it and can respond to it's quality.

Why not Mario and sonic olympics? That game is hella fun as a party game. We had 4 people trading off all night long, and we were sore as hell the next day...
