Best place to get a PSP fixed??

Proxymatic

Well yeah, I got a psp basically when it first came out, and I loved it very very much. But last summer I broke it while playing MH:F. I opened it up and replaced the LCD, but that didn't work either, it works, but its a much lighter / more opaque color and I can't stand to play it. So its been shelved for now...

But seeing as MH:F 2 is coming out soon, and there's a ton of other good games for the psp, I was wondering where the best place to get it fixed would be... Either online send away places, or maybe some store chain does repairs, but any help or reccomendations would be fabulous.. Thanks in advance....

I dont know how much sony charges to repair your psp you might want to call them they might actually be cheaper than what the other places are going to cost you.

It may be tough to have Sony even touch it if you've opened it yourself. This is just a thought, but you might want to unload it on Craigslist or something and pay the difference for a new one with the lowered price. Might be a wash compared to having it repaired.

Sony says they don't repair the psp(s) the only they do is send you a refurbished one for 89.99 + your broken psp, since my psp broke yesturday, now I'm wondering if I should buy a new psp, wait for a redesign, or go w/ the 89.99 option.

what do you guys think I should do ?

depends whats wrong with yours?

For the first time UK sony executive Ray Maguire has confirmed the widely believed plan to release a redesigned PSP. Maguire characterized the new PSP as smaller and lighter, but said the handhelds screen size would remain the same. No word on whether the system would come down in price, although Sony has coincided a price-drop with a redesign in the past. This is what i read in the May issue of Gameinformer on page 29. I can not wait for that second nub. That will make the PSP the best selling handheld of all. That just what i think. What do you all think?????????

my psp won't start up... physically I can't see anything wrong... it dropped and now when I cut it on.. the green light comes on, but there's no start up.

I've been doing some research online... I've found one placed called Techrestore (.com) but I can't vouch for their services. I wish sony would just repair the psp, and let people pay for it..

For you I would say have sony fix your psp its most likely bricked and will cost about the same if not more if you get it done by other people.

Proxy I would say try to fix it yourself, it really should be a quick fix all you need is a new lcd which is around $30 not sure if you need to solder anything or anything like that might want to ask around and ask people who replaced their lcd what it was like..
