I've been considering picking up a second GCN recently so I could have a little bt of LAN action going on in my room. The system doesn't need to have a controller and I don't care what color it is, so long as the system works.

gamestop.com has a bundle for 80$ a used system and animal crossing.

unless u live in NY or...some...other state, you wont be paying tax either, which really saves on a big purchace like this

Yeah, used GameCubes probably won't go too far under the $99 suggested retail.

I'd suggest getting a new one, personally. Either that, or go with punq's deal; I liked Animal Crossing. =/

There are always pretty cheap Cubes on ebay.

The biggest problem with buying consoles off ebay, though, is trying not to get screwed by shipping. I see sellers charging $25 for a shipped Cube. That's just crazy.

I got mine used for $70 at a game/music store.

Also, I've seen a couple used ones around $60 in pawn shops, that's another good place to search.

I saw a used one for $25 at a pawn shop a few months back... but it was probably priced so low for a reason.

Good luck!

There's a used game store by me that has a purple cube for $49.99, I saw it two days ago with my own eyes. Unfortunately I don't remember if it comes with anything :?

Does it really save that much after credit card interest?

What does credit card interest have to do with anything? Not paying tax saves about $5 to $10 depending on one's tax rate. If one is uninformed enough to purchase with a credit card and not pay off the balance (can you tell I do not use credit cards) one is going to pay those ridiculous credit card interest charges, regardless of whether that person paid tax on the purchase or not. In fact, if one pays tax and carries the full balance, one will have to pay the interest on the tax amount as well. So, perhaps I don't understand the question.

You're right, I guess I wasn't thinking. I was actually referring to buying online versus buying B&M. If you pay cash B&M, tax usually comes out about equal to any credit card interest you would accumulate if you didn't pay off your balance immediately, and vice versa. I wasn't considering debit cards, either.. though I have no idea how those work. My bad though.

Do they charge per transaction or anything like that? And can you use them online? I've never really noticed many options for "debit card" at places like ebgames.com, and didn't really think debit cards would be labeled as Mastercard/Visa/etc. I'm clueless, obviously. I keep all my cash on me.. you guys could mug the shit out of me.

You put it where you would put the credit card info...it acts like a credit card but instead it just takes out of your MONEY and not credit...So there is no interest or charge...you get debit cards free with a bank acount

most banks charge a fee when you use it as a debit card. but for some reason they dont charge it when you use it as a credit card. i figured that out early on and the only main difference is that if you say credit you sign and if you say debit you put in your pin number. online im pretty sure they just take it all out as credit though.
