Best price for Persona 3?

Alien Spider

CAGiversary!
I went ahead and preordered it at Amazon for $46.99:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000FPM4WC/ref=nosim/cheapassgam08-20

The game is suppose to include a soundtrack CD and an artbook.

Most of us know what a pain it is trying to buy SMT games at a discount later on (some guys get lucky but that's certainly not me :\ ), so I figured I'd just bite the bullet this time and preorder it. $3 less than retail, no taxes, and free shipping.

If anyone knows of a better deal, please post!

Yeah, I actually only have one credit card and I've already used it for the GC discount with two separate Gmail accounts...maybe the third time's a charm?

Hm, any one have pictures of all the stuff it comes with? Those pix are small.

And, I normally download my obscure/pricey games, I was wondering, is Persona 3 something that would be a wise investment? Bear in mind I could get it for free via download...but will it be worth money someday so I wont feel bad for induldging?

Buy it now, all Atlus games are super rare and it will be $300 on ebay just days after it's release.

Not bad.
What if I waited a year or more? Maybe 10?
Would it raise?
I mean I could just rip it to my HD, enjoy the art book and music while I can...
I do plan on opening the box and all that jazz of course, so it wont be perfect condition technically.

um you wont get $300. Panzer Dragon Saga is one of the rarest game and a it only cost around $100-120 after 10 years. A simple reprint will kill any value. Video game is a poor choice to invest, it is better to invest your money else where.

You just ruined my fun.

You're saying I should disregard buying it?
lol?
This is a video game forum, we are all avid game purchasers.
Selling it in the future is just an added perk I was asking about.
We have to buy games regardless, might as well inquire as to how much we can get later on.

I got 300 for my Earthbound, not sure about this series.

Well I don't think you'll fetch $300 for this game - since I only manage to get 200 for a sealed persona 1 for the psx (after years from it's release). However, shin megami tensei series - do seem to hold their value quite well (except for devil summoner).

Plus the fact with it's nifty container & collectable perks "artbook + ost" I do believe this will become a nice collectable/ZOMGS the RAREZ later on.

Not to mention it acquired pretty nice review scores as well, can't wait to play this!

I believe 62t is trying to say is that it's not a good idea to invest in games for $$ since a reprint will kill any hope for a profit.

either way - buy.com would be the cheapest with GCO
however if you used that plenty times already
there's familyvideo.com's PERSONA 3 for $46.87 + $5 off if you put the new members code NEWMEM5F. & with 99 cent shipping
this will come to 42.86 shipped.

btw. nice score with earthbound!!

edit///
I'm using EB/GS credit (from the DS/PSP trade in deal) so this wont cost a dime for me :).

Sorry, but I didn't see that other thread. I did a search for "Persona 3" and the results showed that there was not a thread for this game yet in this forum.

Anyway, the Family Video deal looks great. Thanks guynextshore!

I take it they're reliable? What sort of packaging do they use to ship?

you also said that you could download this for free. I am just saying that if the only reason you are buying it is to resell later, it is not a good idea.

No problem!
I personally haven't purchased from them before, however I have talked to other cagers that had a good experience with them. I suppose the only downfall is that the $0.99 shipping is a bit slow. Regardless, they are reliable.

oh btw, if you didn't know ALL the versions of this game comes with the Artbook & OST. Regardless of where you get it from.

good luck to those to get this below MSRP!

yea, I didn't understand that 'download this for free' bit either.
Perhaps, he's speaking from ia future aspect - you know when the PSP lite 2 is avaliable- in which you can homebrew & rip PS2 games as ISO into your portable. just like how the psp rips PSX games (ie persona 1 & 2). If I'm totally off... sorry. hehe.
I really wanted this game too but not over $40. I'll bite whenever drop down $30 or less.
really good luck to that.
Perhaps if amazon does a DOTD! or if you're extremely lucky at a TRU clearance (like others with DDS1)
