Best Suikoden on the PS2?

The walking isn't that big a deal.

I can see how the battle system would tick people off though.

Storywise, I'd rate it just as high as any of the others.

Story wise it didnt seem bad...and I heard about who the big suprise boss at the end of the game was and thought it was brilliant. Iv always wanted to play the game if for story alone.....I just cant bring myself to do it because of the battle system.

You could always just read the manga. You'll miss some things, but you'll get most of the important parts of the plot.

That's why I rate the story so high. The big surprise boss is a pretty big jaw dropper if you've played the first two games. And I thought it was well written and well motivated.

I'm like 20 hours into 3, and it's fairly fun. But it's also not going anywhere yet. The story is actually slower than 5's it seems.
