UPDATE 8/26/05

WalMart.com has added a listing for the three pack. While there is no picture up, a date of September 26th is quoted for the "shipped to you by" thing. That means the street date for this should be AT LEAST September 27th. Oh, and the current preorder price as of right now is $19.96 (the original price is quoted at $24.98 which is still good but $19.96 is FAR better.

To find it on WalMart.com search for "Total Non-Stop Action" which should have it turn up as that's the only thing on WalMart.com that uses that name.

.... to a Wal-Mart near you this fall.
TNAwrestling.com has learned that retail leader Wal-Mart will feature a new TNA Wrestling DVD combo pack in stores in time for the holiday season.

“TNA Anthology: The Epic Set” will feature over ten hours of Total Nonstop Action, featuring the “Victory Road”, “Turning Point” and “Lockdown” Pay-Per-Views as one mega set. In addition, TNAwrestling.com has learned that the box set will be priced under $30, making it an affordable, must-have for every wrestling fan. TNA Wrestling will post an official release on the Wal-Mart “TNA Anthology” box set in the upcoming days.
What a great deal. Well worth it just for the Triple X vs America's Most Wanted steel cage match on "Turning Point." :applause:

One can not have enough of Planet Jarrett.

Though admittedly a far superior price to their highway robbery website sales. Though, if you order through the website, you too can talk to Kevin "I broke my damn neck!" Northcutt (or was it the other milquetoast muscle guy in redshirt security?) when they send you the wrong video.

EDIT redshirt; redshirt, I mean...Freud is alive!

A great way to introduce your product to the masses. Tons of content and a low price. It's nice to see TNA making some GOOD business decisions now. Here's hoping it continues.

Haven't really gotten a chance to see the production on TV. But can some tell me a little bit about TNA because I might just have to pick this up to see some good wrestling outside of the crap that I see watching the WWE.

I've heard a lot of good things about TNA but haven't actually seen it yet. Do they still show it on Fox Sports Net because last I heard that is what station it was on?

If you go to their website you can download Impact! until they premeire on SpikeTV later this year.

Can you download it, or only stream it? Either way, the video quality is very good for a web program.

Their presentation reminds me of WCW before Nitro - that is, professional, but small. I look forward to their growth and eventual touring the American market. They're going to have a lot of great talent if they snap up the Dudley Boyz, Chris Kanyon, Jimmy Yang, and others. It's important to use established guys (especially if they're young and/or in their prime, unlike Billy Gunn, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, et al.), but also bring up homegrown talent. They have a lot of guys they've built up (Chris Daniels, Elix Skipper, AMW, AJ Styles, and others I can't think of; soon enough, Samoa Joe will be a household name) who, while they might have been popular elsewhere, are popular and known as "TNA" guys. As small as they are, they've already created more stars than WCW ever did.

They do a decent amount of watchable wrestling (which the WWE has lacked for near half a decade or more), and their storylines, while as bland as the WWE, aren't the entirety of the show. If you hate storylines, you'll enjoy the wrestling. In WWE, if you hate storylines, it's time to pick another show to watch.

Give it a whirl.

That's been my big complaint about TNA so far. They seem intent on pushing guys who couldn't really get over with WWE audiences WITH a decent push like Billy Gunn the last 4 or so years, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in their last NWO incarnation, Jeff Hardy after he lost his motivation (I'm not really sure when it happened, but it was either shortly before or after his split with Matt), Jeff Jarrett (good midcarder, not a main eventer). What amazes me is how long guys like Spanky and Jamie Noble were on the market without getting picked up by TNA. These guys seem like they would have been much better additions as they hadn't exactly been given a shot in WWE and failed (like the other guys mentioned had previously), plus they can actually wrestle. Hopefully given the fact that the recent WWE cuts were pretty full of talent, TNA can pick up the Dudleys (and Spike too), Matt Morgan, maybe Akio (Jimmie Yang), and Charlie Haas and use them correctly.

Thanks, mykevermin. I went to TNAwrestling.com and you can only stream the episodes of Impact! through RealPlayer.

Just watched the episode for last week and I have to say that this is an excellent program for wrestling. Didn't waste too much time with the sideshow of interviews. I think I might have to check this set out when it becomes available at Wal-Mart and I will keep watching the web episodes until they get the new tv deal rolling.
i'll wait until TNA shuts down within a year and they clearance this at under 10 bucks
People have been saying this exact same thing about TNA since day one, and its yet to happen. Quit dreaming about it WWE fanboy, its not going to happen.

Funny the guy calling someone else a fanboy is the one with the promotion's letters in his username.

The company has lost over $20 million so far...and is nowhere near turning a profit. Unless they can lure Paul Heyman away to take over the booking, there is no way they will be able to survive another year. Especially if the Spike ratings are below a 2.0. I want them to survive because I think WWE's writing is piss poor. I just know it's not going to happen.

By the way, they're paying for the Spike timeslot...

So, to reiterate:

"I'm actually a fan of TNA.

I laugh at their pitiful business practices.

I report as fact everything that the internet tells me."

Is that a good summary of what you're saying? There are contradictory stories about whether or not TNA is paying, so unless you're an industry insider, you have NO idea what's really going on.

In addition, think about the company, an ENERGY company, that funds TNA. $20 million? Now, I realize that they aren't as big as the Royal Dutch Shell company, who just made so much money that they earned money at the rate of US $3 million per hour (or was that Exxon?) over the past fiscal quarter, but an energy company can easily laugh at $20 million spent like it's nothing.

Really, TNA's just over 3 years old, they've been owned by an energy company for 2 (?) years, and that's 10 million for television, workers, space to hold shows, and unpaid tickets. That's a BARGAIN compared to other sports, dude. Are they turning a profit? No way, they might recoup a small percentage of costs from merchandising. With a bigger TV deal on Spike, merchandise in retail outlets such at Wal-Mart, and the potential for having touring house shows and larger PPV sales in the future, funding this company is a pretty easy investment for them.

How many other pro sports teams spend $10 million a year or less for *everything* they do?

So, in the future, if you want to make an argument, don't be wrong.

And also speaking of facts... PWInsider.com reported today that TNA is *NOT* paying a dime for the Spike TV slot. Spike TV is handling all the advertising for the show in fact, all TNA is doing is handing Spike TV the show to air. Very slick indeed. :D

I will apologize for calling you a WWE mark thericochet. However it really pisses me off everytime I read comments like "TNA won't make it past (fill in the blank)." Yes Panda is losing money on TNA right now, but that's a short term loss. If they play their cards right, which they are then in the long run Panda is going to benefit greatly when TNA finally does break out into the mainstream (which IS going to happen, I'll guarantee you that).

demoman, reporting that TNA is not paying for air time is as incorrect as saying that they are. The simple fact of the matter is that only those in the bureaucracy of each company know who is paying what. Pwinsider doesn't get everything right all of the time, just like any other website, so take what they say with a grain of salt.

Also, it's speculating to claim that Panda's investment is a short term loss. You have no idea when they might turn a profit. On the other hand, the argument I was making was that (1) relative to other sports/programs, the investment is very very small (and thus the risk/reward ratio rather safe) and (2) $10 million per year for an energy company is a pitifully insignificant portion of overall income (though I'd like to know what their quarterly profit to be absolutely sure).

Not that it's a short term loss, but a minute amount of money for such a large (and, in this day and age, immensely profitable) company to invest.

I've given up on predicting TNA's demise. Instead, I've decided that unless Jarrett moves behind the scenes, they *deserve* to die.

I hope these sets sell well, so TNA can finally make money, or at least lose less of it. Three PPVs is a damn good bargain, especially since two WWE PPVs at Wal-Mart cost $30.
ah cant wait for this to come out

arent these dvds 24.99 a piece on tnawrestling.com ?
Yes they are. In essence your buying one and getting two extra ones for free. :D

Now that is what I like to call CHEAP ASS WRESTLING! :bouncy:

Yup, although nothing can top the FIVE DISC Wrestling Gold set for $15 at Wal-Mart. Actually, since these have good matches on them, maybe it can. Perfect timing for this release, given that they're hitting Spike TV a week later. $20 for 3 PPVs, just amazing. Or, as Don West would say - THERE'S NINE HOURS OF WRESTLING ACTION FOR UNDER TWENTY DOLLARS!!
