CAGiversary!
I was at Media Play today and this is what the salesguy told me their deal on the Xbox 360 would be.
$50 guarantees you system, extra controller, two games of your choice, 64MB memory card and a "Free gift" which they're pretty sure is either going to be Halo 2 or the rumored Xbox 360 enhanced Halo 2. Final purchase price for the bundle is $500 GUARANTEED even if the Xbox 360 is priced at $350.
Now, that sounds like a bundle for street value, what makes it so great? Their rewards program.
According to the sales rep who is going by their current rewards program for consoles, accesories, games etc. He thinks the final bundle should net $85 in rewards coupons/gift certificates. He then went on to tell me that if you renewed that day or signed up for their rewards program that day the points would double. If true that would result in $170 in rewards/certificates within 3 weeks of purchase.
Frankly I think the guy screwed up, but I grilled him incessently and he swore it was the truth. I can't see getting $170 in gift certificates on a $500 purchase.
If anyone else can confirm this by phone call, in person or is a Media Play/Sam Goody employee I'm sure we'd all appreciate it. I'm thinking the guy was mistaken. If not, this is the CAG value on the Xbox 360 that can't be beat.
