bestbuy.com free shipping extreeeeemely slow?!?

The website is saying that standard shipping orders made before Dec. 21 will arrive by Christmas. I'm not going to hold my breath on my Lost Planet 2 order though.

Gee you ordered during the busiest part of the year and are wondering why it took a while? They got hammered with orders. Shipping speed is fine, they just didn't ship it out for a while because they were probably fufilling orders ahead of yours.

It is a problem. They're the ones that need to manage their inventory. Not us. If they don't have the movies to fulfill an order, then don't let people order. It's as simple as that.

It's also not their shipping that's slow. They ship UPS ground, which is generally fast. It's their damn processing. It took them about 5 days just to process an order for me. That's down right slow. The game never went OOS on their site so they had plenty of them to ship, but it still took them forever.

If its something they know they are getting additional shipments of they won't put it OOS. Besides if they did what you suggest we'd have 20 people bitching because their advertised black friday specials went OOS and they couldn't order it.

Do you have any idea how many orders a store like bestbuy recieves over black friday? They recieve more orders in 3 days then they do a month. Any store will get hammered trying to process 10X or more of their normal load. Not to mention the post office gets slower this time of year because the amount of packages they have to deliver increases.

Also just open the damn dvd up and look if its scratched up, if it is swap in store. Disc popping loose happens all the time and i've had it scratch up a disc once with minor marks that does nothing. It's not bestbuy's fault and is probably one of those crappily designed dvd cases that don't hold disc well.

Like I said before, it's called managing your inventory. If you're going to have something priced so damn low, then obviously you're going to get a bunch of orders for it. Order them ahead of time or at least have an order for them pending. Amazon got more orders than BBY over black friday and they sure as hell didn't have a problem shipping out most of the stuff.

Actually I had 2 packages from amazon that I ordered on black friday arrive this monday (most notably my Nurse Jackie on bluray). For me they averaged anywhere from 4 days to 3 weeks. So they had the same problem despite the fact that they have an advantage of not having physical store inventory.

There is no way to accurately judge the demand for certain items, especially during a weak economy. Your logic would bankrupt stores if they had a weak black friday and items didn't sell.

Not to mention certain items were backordered from the actual supplier since many sites had the same order. I wouldn't be surprised if it took stores longer then normal to recieve shipments of certain items since everyone was selling them.
