not sure if this is a typo or not,

but i just noticed this while looking for a cheap copy of this game.

if you search for "infamous" on bb's site, it shows 29.99, but when

you actually click on it, it shows 9.99. i successfully ordered one

without any hassle though. :) currently waiting for my 'ready-to-pick-up' email

update: just got an email my item is ready to pick up :) guess it wasn't a typo.

so i can pick it up at local bb.

I saw about 3 copies of this the other day at my local Best Buy, but now it says unavailable for in store pick up. I'll have to check again in the morning. Been playing through Sly Collection recently, so I'm interested in this.

I wonder if this is going to be one of the free games when PSN comes back up and Sony gave retailers the heads up to clear out stock since it'll be near worthless in the near future or something.

just speculating.

could be. also infamous 2 is out soon, but that can actually drive up interest in the previous game (just try and find uncharted 1 for significantly less than 2, e.g.), so your theory has some heft to it.

I think you're overestimating Sony's generosity. I expect a free Ps1 title.

Sony's GH titles have been below $10 before just not out of the blue like this.

dang unavailable at all stores around me and shipping is not allowed as an option? i hope i won't be wasting my time when i go look in the store.

Could not pass this up as it has been on my wish list for a bit. Will give me time to play before part 2 comes out.

great game, i sold my copy after i got the platinum, but might have to buy it back at this price. good warmup for inFamous 2 :)

Good lord, if you haven't bought this already please go buy it now. One of the best games on the PS3, amazing open world action. Not a perfect game but worth a lot more than $10
hmm anyone else can purchase it via online shipping?
Go to the store tomorrow if you want it ... this deal hasn't been highly publicized yet and it's most likely they have 2 to 3 copies at most stores. If you can get there early or call and ask them to hold a copy, you should be able to get in on the deal.
If you don't have this game by now and you own a PS3, I don't even....
I tried playing this game a couple of months after it came out. I think I got it from Go Hastings for $22 shipped or something. I hated the game. It was soooooo repetitive.

Actually up until just before Black Friday last year TRU had Uncharted(in the 'ugly' GH packaging:roll:) for $7 on clearance, but they raised it up a couple of weeks before BF to $29.99 just so they could lower it down to $14.99 on BF to seem like a 'deal'.:bomb:

I agree, all of the side-missions are pretty repetitive. The story isn't great either IMO, but aside from the side-missions the gameplay is decent enough. I do think $9.99 is a great price for this game and worth picking it up for that, but I don't think it's one of the best games on the PS3.

Yeah. It's definitely not a horrible game and leagues better than Prototype, which was essentially Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with a skin swap for the npc's and lead character(s) with some snazzy not so new abilities.

I thought Infamous was very similar to Assassin's Creed when I recently played it - same open-world game play and side missions that start to get repetitive but it was fun and fairly easy to get a platinum trophy.

All games are inherently repetitive. It depends on if you like the gameplay. Obviously you didnt, so you think it is repetitive. Dont you always say you play GTA all the time? How is that not repetitive? :) I love GTA too though btw.

It's not repetitive when you're flying UNDER the map in an attack chopper shooting people THROUGH buildings though.;)

Outside the demo on PSN I've never played inFAMOUS but it has always been on my rader. I think all sandbox games can/are repetitive but what makes or breaks them is if they can draw the gamer into the game by means of the storyline or by unique gameplay. Some can and other can't. I think I will like this.

Well, the only Best Buy near me that carries it is about 8 miles away...so with gas prices a round trip there (it's still out of the way from everything else) adds about $4.50 to the cost of the game. Lol, guess I'll go with Amazon at some point if I really want it. I'm also guessing it'll drop to $10 or so used on hastings or gamefly once the second one comes out.

Loved Infamous. Although the game didn't really click with me until I was more than half way through. I think it's the way they map all of Cole's abilities to the controller in such a way that you have access to his entire arsenal at all times (no need to swap out weapons/abilities). It really makes you feel like a bad ass once you've unlocked most of his abilities.

I just bought it online and will pick up later today. But I wanted to pick it back up for a WHILE now. I got the Platinum Trophy about 3-4 weeks after the game came out 2 years ago. I absolutely loved this game. Best Superhero Style game till Batman AA. And I felt it was the bet Sandbox game for THIS GEN until Red Dead Redemption came out. Just an over all fun game. I will be getting the HERO edition for infamous 2.

My favorite game on PS3 easily, but I traded it away earlier this year. Now I have been craving a playthrough again, this time as evil. This deal is too good to pass up. I hope it doesn't burn me out on the sequel. My local store had some in stock so I will be picking up this week sometime.

I have Prototype but I just can't get into it like I did Infamous. The game clicked with me early on and never let go.

That's how I feel about Just Cause 2, which I was really excited about when it came out and only recently picked up for $20ish. While doing stunts via parachute and the grappling hook is awesome, the game is more or less repetitive without a very good story. Doesn't make it unenjoyable though!

Just a quick FYI picked up a copy at the Westbury NY store after it came up as unavailable , there were 2 more copies there after I left , good hunting

yeah, and the chaos metric helps keep it interesting. whenever the story would lag (and it did at times), i'd find a military base and go crazy for 10-20 min.

I absolutely LOVED Just Cause 2 and want to rebuy it as well as Infamous. JC2 was awesome because it has a unique item like the hook/chute. Makes it a lot of fun to run around and cause chaos!

Don't forget that with that game you can also record your shenanigans and upload it to YouTube for the whole world to see.

Unfortunately quite a few people took to recreating 9/11 complete with Arabic music in the background.:whistle2:#

Was JC2 a lot better than the original? I finally got around to playing JC1 on the 360 a couple of months ago and it was one of the buggiest games I had ever played.

Saw this on SD's last night, tried PMing it to Amazon with no luck as of this morning.

Went ahead and bit since the Best Buy 2 minutes from my apt had it in stock apparently.

$10.91 total, gracias Best Buy!
The demo made the game seem tedius and annoying, not fun, to me.
I kind of felt the same way--but always thought of picking it up cuz i felt that maybe the actual game would convince me other wise.

so im still on the fence--or maybe ill just pick up infamous 2-

would i be missing anything since in part 2 its a new character right?

No, Infamous 2 is the same character. Cole McGrath.

The story for the first, the ending to be more precise, was great and wound up being a total shocker (heh) for me. Excellent game all around. Can't wait to see how the sequel turns out.

I'd definitely pick it up since the protagonist on inFamous 2 is a character that's mentioned in inFamous. I played the game before when it was originally released and got everything on both Good and Evil sides of the story (except for those stunts) and the story is totally worth buying it for specially for $9.99.

Thankfully, my nearest store had the game in stock. I saw this last night and saw that two stores had them instock and decided to check it out tomorrow. Checked again and one of the stores sold out. I got my copy just in time.
damn... I really want to get this but I have a huge backlog. decisions, decisions..............
Does it hurt to add one more to a huge backlog? Especially when it's a great game for only $10? ;)

As was the case yesterday with Uncharted 2 GOTY, Infamous was also in stock at my local Best Buy even though online it said it wasn't. Thanks OP!

So I cancelled my online order and just went to the store to get it instead of waiting for confirmation to pick it up since they had it in stock anyway. There were 5 copies. 2 of them were originals (NON GH Red Cases). I snagged em both as my buddy wanted one as well. Such a great game.

Question guys, or In-Store pickup, I see that they want me to have the Order Number with me when they tell me it's ready to pick up the game. Problem is, I take it you need to print the e-mail out and what not, my printer has no ink though. Can I take my iPhone and display the e-mail instead?

Yes you can. They just need to type the order number into the computer.

Sucks I missed out on this deal. OOS online and none in my area for pickup.

you know what im picking up screw it-this game has been in the back of my mind for a while anyway

thanks for pushing me over the fence guys. hopefully i will enjoy it.

15 min drive to best buy so no big prob on pick up.

For anyone who is checking store availability and showing unavailable, I suggest checking the store. I checked my local stores and all read unavailable, but I went to the store anyway and they had 4 copies. Just a little heads up for those who still want to get in on the deal.

Since Amazon didn't price match went to the local BB and luckily snagged the last copy non-GH . Didn't care much for the demo but for $10, will give it another try.

Walked in, guy came to help me, was real cool... I asked him if they had inFamous, as it was ringing up $9.99 "at some places."

He seemed surprised, but didn't question it. Found me a copy, rang it up, told me that's a great deal, and then left to grab himself a copy.

In and out in 5 minutes in Columbia, MO. Though I don't believe there are any left, now.
