Big Daddy Cool's wrestling topic

Kurt Angle is BWALLIN'! He has good taste in women.

And what are they going to do with Pacman? Is he going to be a wrestler?
I downloaded 2 of them, but neither would play since they were mp4 files. Someone here talked about changing the file extension, but I have no idea how to do that. I right clicked on the file itself, and there was no such option.
Have you tried the VLC Media Player? They work just fine if you use that.
God... I can't wait to see Kurt Angle with 5 championship belts.

The image of him holding them all up, yelling, coated in sweat, on the top rope needs to be immortalized in stained glass.
...so expect TNA to cut away instantly the second he holds the belts up, like they did when 3D finally won the tag titles after trying to win them for a year and a half.

The first match was decent, but way too hard to follow with six men involved, and the show only having two matches, with neither of them being particularly memorable, hurt it. Yet another bad show, although it was slightly better than last week. At least it was entertaining.

That really is Karen Angle, and TNA wants Jones to wrestle. He was on ESPN today and stated that he "learned how to fall and all the moves in 40 minutes". Yup, hell of a signing by TNA.

Seems as though they're on a hype-train to the ppv.

They're also showing why they badly need that second hour. The roster is definitely deep enough to support 2 hours at this point... hell if SD can go 2 hours, oi.
Have you tried the VLC Media Player? They work just fine if you use that.
I have no idea what that is.

Wow, I thought I'd give TNA a chance tonight. What a fucking joke that was, I severely hope this was an off night, cause the only thing that entertained me was Kurt being goofy Kurt, including the Nash stuff.

A second hour won't solve TNA's problems, but it SHOULD allow for more of their roster to be showcased, and that additional hour would end the bullshit excuse of "BUT WE ONLY HAVE ONE HOUR!" when they get flack for having a run of bad shows with too little wrestling.

Karen turning on Joe is WCW 2000 booking. Literately, some thing happened in a match between DDP and Jarret when whas her face was at ringside. Not knowing anything about the storyline while watching a video of it, I saw that coming from a mile away. Though, I'm positive you were being sarcastic.

Jones doens't even belive in the what he's doing. Now that you've said that I don't think I'll ever be able to watch him wrestle without hating him.

As far as I see it TNA doesn't really have problems, they're still in the early development stages. Although they're missing a golden opportunity to really strike while WWE is in the dumps.

I just read a conspiracy theory about how maybe Jeff Jarrett is just bringing Pacman Jones in to actually injure him in a shoot fight as payback for the person paralyzed in the nightclub shooting. Supposedly JJ knew the guy. I highly doubt that there's any truth to this, but I like that possibility more than just bringing him in as a publicity stunt.
Boy do I see ratings rising from that main event woohoo!
if you think that's bad, wait until you see Chavo Guerrero prancing around as Rey Mysterio. The show overall has clusterfuck written all over it.

I didn't read how the main event ends. But I'm guessing Khali palms Flair to death.

ESPN.com is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have filed a restraining order against Adam "Pacman" Jones that will prevent him from participating in Sunday's TNA Hard Justice pay-per-view.

So, are they doing this because they're legit worried that Pacman will get hurt, or because they want to fuck with him like he fucked with them, and not let him get involved in something else?

They're doing it to fuck with him.

This was a train wreck, from the get-go.

I hate it when celebrities dabble in wrestling.

(Unless they're the reverse-comedy god Andy Kaufman.)

In hindsight, Kevin Federline was funny.

He was MAD over as a heel. It is either a statement of what a great entertainer he is, how much time people waste in their lives being enmeshed in celebrity gossip, or how pitifully awful, by comparison, the WWE's characters were developed.

All 3, IMO. B/w his WWE appearance and the insurance (?) commercial he did (you know the one - "FEDERLINE! FRIES!"), I think rather highly of him.

I did like that, actually.
WWE.com is reporting that during a standard Wellness policy physical, an abnormal accessory pathway to the heart (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome) was discovered in US Heavyweight MVP. It is a potentially life threatening condition that could lead to a heart attack if untreated. He will be able to continue wrestling because according to WWE.com, MVP "underwent a precarious radio frequency treatment this past Monday – a procedure that is equally dangerous in that one in 1,000 individuals die during it. Next week, tests will be performed again to see if the procedure was a success."
That's enough proof for me that the Wellness Policy is better than nothing, even if it's under heavy scrutiny for the amount of drug use that performers can get away with.

The heart issue with MVP is legit, WWE.com's only reporting it to deflect criticism from their wellness policy, and possibly give an explanation if MVP needs to miss a great deal of time due to this issue.

Impact last night got a 1.00 rating - down from last week's, despite all the mainstream publicity the Pacman Jones signing got them. Ouch.

Kaufman respected wrestling and wrestlers a great deal. In kept kayfabe so well that even Dave Letterman thought that whole situation was real. Guys like Jones and Rodman before him just see it as something they watch sometimes and say "that's cool.. I got money... I can make that happen.". They want to do just enough to get by. I mean look at at jones saying he learned "all the moves in 40 min" That's one the most disrespectful things I've ever heard. I've had it with "stars" in wrestling.

If anything all this has done is pissing off TNA's core audience. Nice job Jeff Jarrett. Nice job.

Seriously... I mean I thought Impact has been decent as of late... but pales in comparison to let's say... 2 years ago. Where's my damn X-Divsion?

Next Impact should just be a 42 minute 3 way dance with Joe, Styles, and Daniels.

I have an idea for the comedy match of the year:

Michael Vick vs. Rick Steiner

Steiner could get down on all fours n bark at Vick and after Vick tries to swat him away, Steiner could chomp down on Vick's leg.

Ratings GOLD, I tells ya.. LOL
Speaking of the X Division.... Meltzer just reported that the death of the X Division has been greatly exaggerated.
What do you mean? By who? Us? IWC?

X-Division was the reason I got into TNA... at the time the main event had guys like Jarrett, Monty Brown, Raven, Rhino... that wasn't exactly my reason for tuning in yaknow?

After this whole Angle/Joe 5-title escapade fades away I really hope the X-Division comes back in full force. Sonjay got his gimmick change, now where's his push? :)
What do you mean? By who? Us? IWC?
Obviously you missed out a bit ago on the news that TNA was looking to drop the X Division that was reported by our good "friend" Gerwick.

Today's OVW had a 17-20 minute match between Colt Cabana and Shawn Spears.

Well worth the download, if you typically don't download them. I'll have it up later tonight, as I'm encoding it right now, but won't be around to upload it this afternoon.

Pacman Jones will NOT be wrestling in TNA, nor will he be able to take part in anything physical. Brilliant signing, TNA. They got a bunch of pub for bringing him in, and yet the ratings went down, and now they can't even pop a buyrate with him wrestling for the company. It's sad to see just how far TNA has fallen after being easily the best national wrestling company in '05. Oh, and Impact's final rating ended up being a 0.9 - lower than the initial 1.0 reported rating. Jesus tapdancing Christ.

Saturday WO site news update - http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=20418

The Missing Link is gravely ill with cancer, MVP is set to do a boxing match with MVP for SNME, an article on JBL's job as an investment banker is available at http://usairwaysmag.com , and TNA got more pub today from ESPN for the Jones story.

That's what they get for "marking out" over this overgrown child. How much do you think they paid him? How much do you think that would help Konnan right now? Or hey let's not even go there.... Just think of some of the talent they could get for the price they paid Pacman. Hell I'd rather get David Flair back in the ring then this blemish on society. If TNA would focus on the X division, get 2 hours, clean up some booking (having all the titles on the line in one match is asinine!) we'd have a show again. Remember when TNA moved to Thursday and they Opened with Joe vs Daniels for the X division title? What happened? Signing Cage and Angle was good for TNA, but it still seems reliant on ex-WWE talent and pushing them. Test? Tomko? (in all fairness I'm starting to like Tomko for some ungodly reason, but that was my 1st thought) I want TNA to do great things and truly rise to not just number 2 by default, but Number 2 for a reason.

That would be a HUGE mistake...

er... nevermind... couldn't have said it better than OnyxPrimal. I miss TNA '05... Hell I even miss TNA '04 and '06.

I think TNA just lost all sense of vision for the company, and decided to rely on past formulas that worked, but are unfortunately archaic in 2007. They also seem to have lost all faith in their homegrown talent being able to draw money, as evidenced by them hiring tons of ex-WWE guys despite already having dozens of men on their roster being either underutilized or not being utilized at all for months on end.

They've also greatly decreased the amount of wrestling, let alone quality wrestling, on their PPVs and TV shows, which has basically killed their main strength in '05, which was having incredible, state-of-the-art wrestling on a regular basis, and have instead traded that in for a bunch of skits, promos, vignettes, and interviews that their talent isn't all that skilled at performing.

I just met Kurt Angle and D-Von Dudley at D-Von's smoothie shop. Bubba no showed.

Pretty cool, $5 for autographs from both and I got my picture taken with them.

Kurt Angle was out of it and D-Von was awesome. He thought it was hilarious when my nephew threw the Dudley sign.

I wish my sister would have told me my hair was blocking Zander in the Angle shot.
Thats awsome.

Were there a lot of people there?
There were about 100 people outside and a radio station truck.

The place was really small (next to a gym I guess D-Von also owns) so they were letting people in ten at a time.

Kurt Angle had some chick masageing his shoulders while D-Von was goofing around with all of the kids.

On a small TV, they had old matches from the Attitude era (I noticed Stone Cold and an unblurred WWF sign) playing which Kurt was watching rather intensely (that man has the scariest glare I have ever seen) when people weren't bothering him.

Didn't try any of the smoothies but the place seems to be run solely by teenage girls.

You would have loved TNA in 2003. Yeah there was some very Russo moments during 2003 but there was a LOT of awesome as well:

- Raven vs Jarrett fued
- AMW vs Triple X's first steel cage match (along with their fued)
- The X Division was epically insane including the first Ultimate X plus a number of people who were in the X Divison at time time like Kid Kash, Paul London, Amazing Red, Michael Shane, Frankie Kazarian, Chris Sabin, etc.
- Many epic main events (ie: Wednesday Bloody Wednesday, Raven vs Shane Douglas hair vs hair)

God I loved TNA in 2003. :D
