"County Fair is a neat tycoon game and carnival-building simulation that puts you in full control of building and maintaining some very cool amusement parks. From carousels to ring toss games to deep fried candy bars, it has everything you'd expect to find in a real-life fair."

Pros: Gameplay is involved, but still easy to learn. Plenty of chances to strategize. Great flexibility in setting prices and budgets. Realistic carnival graphics and animations. Addictive game play.

Cons: No way to fast forward. Difficult to spot when a machine is broken, especially in windowed mode.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

country fair is a fun game.. its is too bad you cant fast forward also i think when you get to the 4th stage its very hard to get past ... but its worth the 2.99 just to see if you can try to beat it... better sims games out there but for 3 its worth the try

Gamezebo review:

"Whether viewing photos of waterfalls or visiting them in person, people are captivated and can't help but marvel at their splendor. Take a tour of American waterfalls in Waterscape Solitaire, where they appear as the backdrop of an intriguing "solitaire" card game that actually closely resembles mah jong with a couple of added twists."

Pros: Creative approach to solitaire. Beautiful backgrounds depicting waterfalls of America. Variety of card setups. Ideal for kids.

Cons: Game play and music are monotonous. Easy to win until you get to advanced levels. Doesn't let you know when you're out of moves.

Gamezebo review:

"Magic Seeds is no Alice Greenfingers or Plant Tycoon copycat (in spite of what you might think from looking at the main character's Alice Greenfingers-like blond pigtails), but more of what you get when you cross the two games. In this one, players plant, grow and sell seeds as in Alice Greenfingers while crossing them to make more expensive plants like in Plant Tycoon."

Pros: Long lasting. Simple game. Playable with or without strategy. Two good game modes.

Cons: Requires incredible patience. Non-existent music. Lacking features. Bad grammar. Usability issues.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

"Of the dozens of hidden object games that Gamezebo reviewed in 2008, one that I definitely didn't expect to get a sequel was Haunted Hotel, a game that we panned for, among other things, poor English, lackluster graphics and numerous technical gaffes. Haunted Hotel II: Believe the Lies is an improvement, but is still hampered by various issues."

Pros: Better cutscenes and dialogue than the first game. Decent graphics.

Cons: Confusing plot. Uneven soundtrack. Short. Puzzle solutions the same each time.

Gamezebo review:

"Death on the Nile is a good bet for detective wannabes and hidden object fans alike. It's hard to go wrong when underpinned by such a great story, and thankfully the gameplay rises to the occasion."

Pros: Great treatment of a classic story; interesting variations on hidden object format

Cons: Items occasionally hard to see; uneven bonus round challenges

Gamezebo review:

"Mr. Biscuits: The Case of the Ocean Pearl is a hidden object game from Jenkat Media. As you solve each of the hidden object scenes, you collect clues to a murder mystery. At the end of the game, you can use the clues to identify the criminal. The concept is clever, but the execution suffers from poor graphic design that will leave many players feeling frustrated."

Pros: Innovative story structure. Excellent voice acting.

Cons: Objects are small and hard to see. Proportion and coloring are random, making searches more difficult. Relaxed mode still uses a timer.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Go-Go Gourmet combines the best elements of time management diversions like the Diner Dash and Cake Mania series with those of hidden object favorites exemplified by the Mystery Case Files games into a unique restaurant simulation."

Pros: Innovative gameplay. Attractive graphics. Interesting recipes. Levels can be replayed to improve score.

Cons: Often frantic. Some "sticking" issues with the mouse pointer. Lacks alternate play mode.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Hidden object fans will swoon over the romantic hidden object adventure Spirit of Wandering: The Legend. It's the tale of a female pirate captain who loses her crew - including her lover, Jack - during an attack by the infamous ghost ship the Flying Dutchman. The crew aren't dead, but merely imprisoned in the spirit world, which means the captain must use her compass and Jack's magic orb to get them back...

Once story mode is completed, players can go back and play scenes individually in Advanced mode. As for the story itself, it offers a satisfying conclusion while dangling the carrot of multiple sequels to continue the adventure. We'll be waiting!"

Pros: Great graphics and music. Interesting story and characters. Riddle-like item descriptions. Fun gold-finding mini-game.

Cons: Item descriptions can refer to more than one item. Game is stingy with hints.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

"A superb way to kick back, relax and put stress on the backburner after a long day at school or work, we'd be surprised if this one didn't immediately connect across multiple generations. So don't be surprised if Mom, Dad or even a business associate tries to muscle in on your musings. What can we say? The perfect antidote for a long, hard day at home or the office, Four Houses deserves a rightful place in yours."

Pros: Stunning artwork; Captivating soundtrack; Mellow, yet challenging play; Suitable for everyone

Cons: Slow pacing; Meant for purposes of relaxation only

Gamezebo review:

"But even without these technical glitches - just in case this only happened on my computers and no one else's - I still stand by my score of 3.5 out of 5 as it's a good but not great game. If the game-play depth and breadth matched its high cuteness factor and amazing graphics, then perhaps it would be deserving of a higher nod from us here at Gamezebo."

Pros: Accessible. Attractive graphics and many different environments. Did we mention cute? Can win trophies

Cons: Some technical issues including crashes and freezes. Not an original concept. Only one game mode.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"A hidden object title with a twist of adventure, Sprill & Ritchie: Adventures in Time is the latest HOG from Alawar, sending you on a wild ride through past, present, and future. When Ritchie invents a time machine, all is well until a flux mixes items from different eras. But will setting things as they were fix the flow of time, or is there more to history than this simple mishap? Sprill & Ritchie would be a welcome addition to the game collection of any HOG or adventure gamer of any age. Overall, an excellent title I hope to see more of in the future."

Pros: All hidden objects have a purpose. Thirty-three unique and unrepeated levels. Huge variety of challenging mini-games.

Cons: Voices for the characters might have been a nice addition.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"With a record that includes Women's Murder Club, Agatha Christie: Peril at End House, and the Zeeby award-winning Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile, I-Play (formerly Oberon Media) is no stranger to publishing hidden object games with good stories. That tradition continues with Dr. Lynch: Grave Secrets."

Pros: Great production values. Solid mystery story. Innovative optional challenges. Items make sense in context of scene.

Cons: Some items too small and hard to find. Annoying countdown sound with 2 minutes to go.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Click to read the Gamezebo review of Dr. Lynch: Grave Secrets

Dr. Lynch: Grave Secrets was designed by Jane Jensen, the acclaimed game designer of the Gabriel Knight series and other popular Sierra graphic adventures.

Dr. Lynch was made by the same group (including Jane Jensen) that did the excellent Women's Murder Club games. They're currently working on Agatha Christie : 4:50 From Paddington.

BeTrapped is an early casual game by Jane Jensen. It takes Minesweeper and gives it a storyline with her Inspector Parker character. He has to move through a mansion without stepping on traps.

There is no review on Gamezebo since it is older. On Shockwave, it got a 3.8 stars out of 5 from players.

On Gamespot, it got a 7.3 out of 10:

"BeTrapped is Minesweeper with a twist. Rather than race against the clock as you deduce the location of a collection of mines, BeTrapped puts you in the role of Inspector Parker of Scotland Yard. You're stuck in a large house in the middle of a storm and there's been a murder. Also, each one of the house's 30+ rooms is full of traps. Your task is to make your way through each of the house's rooms, avoiding and disarming traps all the while. Upon completely cleaning out a room full of traps, you can explore some of its contents in search of clues. The whodunit story isn't terribly deep, but it's compelling enough to keep you moving from room to room as quickly as you can. Unfortunately, it's fairly short. There's also a puzzle mode with three difficulty settings to choose from, which strips the game down to its trap-finding roots. If you're a fan of Minesweeper-style puzzle games, the twist on this one is interesting enough to make it worthwhile."

Gamezebo review:

"Cate West - The Vanishing Files is a prime example of a hidden object game done right - with thought, care and a few innovations to keep pushing the genre forward. It's not too short but has the good sense to end before overstaying its welcome. Enjoy this one while you can and stay tuned for the hinted-at sequel."

Pros: Satisfying length. Many variations on seek-and-find gameplay. Excellent production values. Interesting story. New drag-and-drop twist. Multiple endings.

Cons: Delay between clicking on multiple objects. Gets a bit formulaic.

Gamezebo review:

"While Treasures of the Deep doesn't really bring anything new to the table, it's certainly one of the more frenetic games to come out of the Breakout tradition. It's as fast-paced and fun on level 100 as it is on level 1... a bragging point that not all brick-breaking games can claim."

Pros: Cool 3-D playing field; Stacked blocks are satisfying to smash; Fast-paced and fun gameplay.

Cons: Beginners might be overwhelmed; Ball hard to keep track of in a busy screen; Not overly innovative.

"If you think Windows Solitaire is as good as it gets, wait 'til you click through Dream Vacation Solitaire. Rather than play your favorite solitaire card games against a plain green background, this digital diversion lets you set sail throughout the world and travel to five beautiful destinations - Bora-Bora, Barbados, Fregate Island, Dubai and Monaco - as you tackle 30 different solitaire games in total."

Pros: Lots of game-play variety; power-ups a nice touch; collectible rewards; attractive graphics and good music

Cons: Load times a little long; can play solitaire with real cards (or free with Windows); gazillion card games in cyberspace

Gamezebo review:

"Fans of mah jong solitaire games or those obsessed with secret societies, such as the Illuminati, might enjoy playing through Venice Mystery, the latest puzzler from Gamgo and Big Fish Games. It may sound like an odd mix - but it works - but don't expect the tile-matching game-play to be tied to the story in any way."

Pros: Interesting story (especially for Da Vinci Code lovers). Mini-games a nice addition. Many power-ups.

Cons: Only one game mode. Core gameplay is quite easy, and it's irrelevant to the story.

Gamezebo review:

"In Youda Legend: The Curse of the Amsterdam Diamond, the first hidden object offering from Youda Games, you'll travel to Dutch country to the capital and largest city of the Netherlands. You begin your trip in Amsterdam looking for a place to stay, getting settled in a hotel room and finding yourself in the middle of a mystery. The story is like stepping into the middle of a conversation without any context, yet in spite of the mysterious plot, little dialogue gets in the way of enjoying the crisp scenes and variety of puzzles."

Pros: Neat puzzles. Crisp graphics. Challenging finds.

Cons: Short. Slow performance. Hard to follow story.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Dream Day Wedding is a great all-around package. The rooms are beautifully drawn and detailed, the gameplay is entertaining and challenging, and there are enough twists and turns in the formula to keep things from getting stale. The best part is the ability to create the story as you go along - and if you're curious about what would have happened if you'd chosen a different path, you can always replay the game again and find out - you'll be given different lists of items to find so the experience will never be the same twice."

Pros: Beautiful graphics and music; fun use of wedding theme; choose your own story and wedding items; high replay value

Cons: Only 3 hints per challenge

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Righteous Kill 2: Revenge of the Poet Killer is better than the first game, but still feels mediocre compared to what else is on the market. It starts off pleasantly enough, unfortunately seeming to lose focus and steam towards the end instead of building towards an interesting ending. There's enough to satisfy hidden object fiends, but don't go in expecting the next Mystery Case Files or Women's Murder Club."

Pros: Longer than the first game. Fun four-way spot-the-difference challenges.

Cons: Too much repetition in objects and scenes. Hint reveals hotspots, not items. Cheap looking cinematics.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Inspector Parker is an older game, thus no review in Gamezebo. However, it was reviewed by Gamespot where it got an 8.7 out of 10:

"Inspector Parker is a logic puzzle that asks you to use a series of clues to figure out which rooms in a house contain a variety of items and people. Items or people that a room could potentially contain are shown in each room, which is presented as a large onscreen matrix. Clues point you to the placement of certain items, but you're pointed in a very indirect way because most clues only tell you about the relationship between two objects. So a clue will tell you that the knife is directly above the room that contains the axe. But since you don't know exactly where the axe is yet, you can only narrow it down. As you narrow down all of your clues, you eventually start getting down to business and figuring out, by process of elimination, where each piece must be.

"The game has a sort of story mode that has you working through puzzles of increasing complexity, but there's also a mode that lets you choose the difficulty and go on from there. The more difficult levels give you larger houses and more confusing clues to work with. The larger houses essentially force you to play in full-screen mode, as the various icons for each room get a bit too small when you're playing in a fixed-size window. The interface is easy to understand, and the logic puzzles are fun to decipher. Ultimately, this is a nice-looking and extremely addictive game that puzzle fans should have a great time with."

Gamezebo review:

"The gameplay of Adventures of Robinson Crusoe is a typical blend of hidden object challenges, mini-games, and inventory puzzles where you must pick up an item then use it somewhere else in the scene to reveal the final items on your list. Sometimes the list of items to find are random, and other times the list is themed: for example, you might be asked to find “all the hand-held weapons.” It’s a decent hidden object game with some clever and thoughtful twists."

Pros: Nice variety of mini-games. Some clever puzzles. Interesting scenes and story. Good graphics and sound.

Cons: On the short side. Tasks don't always make sense in context.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
