Gamezebo review:

"The most unique thing about Real Crimes: The Unicorn Killer is the decision to base its story on a real-life event, which is something that might appeal to criminology buffs. Otherwise, it’s another run-of-the-mill - and short - hidden object game."

Pros: Informative for “true crime” buffs. Scenes seldom repeat.

Cons: Progress isn't automatically saved. Some spelling mistakes and vague item labellings. Half-hearted attempt at inventory puzzles. “True crime” subject matter might upset some people.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars; Average player review: 1.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"There isn’t much to complain about after playing Lost Secrets: Bermuda Triangle but it’s not the kind of game that blows you away either. Plus, with only one mode the game doesn’t offer the kind of replayability some might hope for. That said, it’s a good hidden object game with a great story and nice presentation."

Pros: Decent hidden object game. Good story. Attractive graphics and good music. Mini-games break up the action. Hint system works well.

Cons: Doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Very dialogue heavy. Some confusing items. Only one game mode. Many items in same place when revisit area.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars; Average player review: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I could not find a review of Key Words. Here is the game description from the Big Fish site:

Get ready for some fun as a smart and cute chameleon guides you through a wonderful adventure! Letters and words fill this extremely interesting world of jungle adventures. Choose letters to build words in order to complete your journey. Just keep an eye on the time, you don't have all day to beat Key Words!

 • Great graphics.
 • Wonderful ambient sounds.
 • Captivating gameplay.

Gamezebo review:

"Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy will likely satiate fans of HOGs - even if they're not familiar with Poe's literary works or mysterious death. Give this one a try and be sure to dim the lights and turn up the speakers!"

Pros: Dripping with atmosphere. Good "HOG" gameplay. Some adventure game-like puzzles. Mini-games. Most objects are related to environment and story.

Cons: Only one game mode. Objects always in same place. Some confusing objects.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average player review: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Age Of Castles has been around awhile so Gamezebo does not have a review for it.

PC Zone UK gave it 61 out of 100.

Gamespot users gave it 5.0 out of 10.

I have played it and found it very simple but somewhat addictive anyway. Here is the game description from Big Fish:

In a distant realm, a great evil has swept across the land. Demons from the underworld and their evil minions have poured across the kingdoms of man, until the great cities lay in ruin. There's nothing but a handful of cowering souls remaining. The people are in need of a king, someone of great strength and courage who can rid the land of the evil plague and rebuild the cities. You are that king. You alone must travel to the end of the world, build a mighty castle, slay the undead hordes, and convert the people of the land to loyal subjects of your domain...in the Age Of Castles.

 • Five different kings, each with individual personality
 • 18 locations, each with different attributes
 • Battle over 60 enemies trying to destroy your castle

Another older game with no review from Gamezebo. And I couldn't find any other reviews of it either, except for a Pocket PC version review.

Here is the game description from Big Fish:

This tricky, multilevel puzzler will have you hunting for treasure. In the twilight rooms of a Persian palace, you will find tricky puzzles awaiting you. Line up three or more same-colored gem chips to make them disappear as you try to clear the game board. Treasure hunters who successfully align pieces will be amply rewarded. Their names will be marked in the history of the Treasure of Persia.

 • 20 levels in each mode.
 • 3 gameplay modes.
 • Multiple bonuses.

Just found out that Big Fish is changing their pricing structure. Here's the new pricing:

Regular games: $9.99 (up from $6.99)
Collector's Editions: $19.99 (stayed the same)

For Game Club Members the prices are now different:

Regular Games: $6.99 (stayed the same)
Collector's Editions: $13.99 (down from $19.99)

So this makes being a Game Club member much more worthwhile than it was before. It also makes these $2.99 deals that much more of a deal.
Just found out that Big Fish is changing their pricing structure....
You scared me when I read that first part! Glad that us members will keep the $6.99 price. The Collector's Editions are now much more CAG-friendly, as well.

Thanks for the updates, as always.

Gamezebo review:

"It's a fun play. And difficulty and experience level are irrelevant when it comes to appreciating the artistry that went into the game's amusingly animated people and dynamic structures. Make sure to take the time to watch your apple orchards blossom and your barrel-toting firemen race to the scene of a blaze. The pretty scenery combined with World of Zellians easy-but-entertaining strategy play is enough to warrant, at the very least, giving the demo a go. "

Pros: Logical and compelling city building design. Shallow learning curve makes it accessible to rookies. Citizens and buildings animate nicely.

Cons: Perhaps a bit too easy, especially for genre veterans. The player's work is never graded. No unlockable achievements or rewards, save a trophy for each kingdom.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average player review: 4.0 out of 5 stars

Big changes over at Big Fish. With the change in pricing structure, they have also changed how their deals work.

There are now no coupon codes for the Daily Deal and the Catch of the Week. If you click on these games to buy them, the discount will automatically be shown in the cart.

The Daily Deal is still listed as being a perk of the Game Club, but it rings up at $2.99 even for non-Game Club members. I am not sure if this is intentional or a mistake that might get fixed later, but for right now, everyone can get the Daily Deal without a coupon code.

Okay, now it looks like the $2.99 Daily Deal does require signing up for a month trial of the Game Club if you are not already a member. If you uncheck the Game Club Trial, the price is dropping to $4.27 on the Daily Deal game. If you do the trial, you can always cancel it and not be charged within the first month.

Catch Of The Week games are $2.99 for everyone regardless of the Game Club. Those games tend to be higher profile games than the Daily Deal games, too.

This is getting complicated!

Things have been changed again....

Unfortunately, they have corrected the Daily Deal. Now you have to either be a Game Club member or sign up for a 1 month trial for the Game Club to get the Daily Deal at $2.99. For non-members, the price is now reverting to $9.99 if you uncheck the box for the Game Club trial.

The $2.99 Catch of the Week still works for everyone.

Now that the code system is gone, apparently the daily deal is only "live" for one day. Previously, the code still worked throughout the next day. That had served me well at the end of the month, deciding which of the two to buy & fill up my card and many other times when I just wasn't able to try a game out on the first day.

Boo!

Gamezebo review:

"All of which, naturally, isn't to say that Treasures of Ancient Cavern is a bad game - quite the opposite, in fact. The trouble mostly being that despite a high degree of polish, it's just another capable, but ultimately faceless spin around the same old track, repackaged with shiny graphics, occasional mindless mini-games and the promise of loading up on virtual loot."

Pros: Heavy on the bling; Slick graphics and special effects. Core mechanics work well. Gets serious mileage out of one shtick. Useful range of power-ups.

Cons: "Been there, done that" gameplay. Bizarre storyline. Grows wearisome quickly. No unique, standout features.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars; Average player review: 3.0 out of 5 stars

There was no official Gamezebo review of Route 66, however there were 6 player reviews. Their average score was 1 star out of 5. Here is one of the reviews:

"Unimaginative and repetitive game. Mini games are long, uninteresting, and sometimes difficult. The graphics don't pull me in and the game does not sustain my interest. After 30 minutes, there is no way I would purchase this game."

Gamezebo review:

"In general, Wild West Quest is an engaging diversion for object-hunting fans, especially those enamored of the Old West. Visuals are good, music is catchy, the story is well-written and integrated tightly into the game, play is addictive and, due to random object lists each time you start a new game, replayability is high. Plus, question marks hidden in each scene provide extra clues for locating hard-to-find items."

Pros: Two modes of play. Interesting Storyline. Solid presentation. Addictive play. Good replayability.

Cons: Arcade-style segments weak. Unresolved story element. A bit too easy overall.

There is no review of Flower's Story on Gamezebo.

On iWin, the average player review is 5 out of 5 stars. Here is a sample review:

"Delightfully Difficult. Just enough twist to matching forms to keep interest. Combines matching with order taking challenges. The story is clever, too. A very pleasing play. A good change from intense game plays of other matching games, i.e. Treasures of Montezuma. Really recommend this one, too."

Gamezebo review:

"Experienced hidden object gamers will love the challenge while those newer to the genre may find it an aggravating experience. Give the trial a try. It won't take long before you encounter small objects to decide if it's worth the yo-ho-ho to trek on in The Magician's Handbook 2: Blacklore or if you should make it walk the plank. "

Pros: Use of spells. Integration of story and game. Game modes. Bonuses.

Cons: Tiny, hard to see objects. Crashes. Spooky scenes not for younger set.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"To Rock Tour's credit, it has a very strong rock soundtrack (we would expect no less from a music-themed game), and the attention to detail is commendable – we especially liked the fake website forum. Strategy game fans could certainly do worse, but then again, they could do better too."

Pros: Sweet rock soundtrack. Some realistic touches like the fake web forum.

Cons: Tutorial too long and detailed. Information buried in help files. No driving pace. Issues with map.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars; Average player rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Although, it doesn't quite earn the ratings expected of a five star spa, Spa Mania will draw in plenty of time management fans old and new with its original mini-games, upgrades galore, varied locales, and well-integrated storyline. Of course, players won't feel too relaxed after a day at the spa because it's hard work to run one! But they'll feel great when they conquer the more difficult levels."

Pros: Original mini-games with purpose. Well-crafted story. Many shop upgrades.

Cons: Slow start. Runs slow or freezes on some PCs. Repetitive gameplay.

Gamezebo review:

"On the whole, point-and-click adventure games tend to get a bad rap for often being excruciatingly long, a little on the dry side, and gruelingly tough. The Blackwell Convergence is none of those things. Instead, it offers up a highly stylish supernatural tale filled with unusual characters and punchy plot twists. It's also just peculiar enough to keep you transfixed to the very end. Best of all, you needn't have to have played through its two predecessors to be able to jump right in and enjoy the adventure."

Pros: Highly original story. Interesting characters. Beautiful pixel art style.

Cons: Shortish length. Limited puzzle elements.

Gamezebo review:

"The actual game parts of Mystery Age: The Imperial Staff are solid, and the art is beyond lovely; the music is even pretty good. If you can either ignore or appreciate the story elements, you'll certainly enjoy helping Eva and Amber on their quest."

Gamezebo review:

"Let's get this out of the way -- shortly after booting up Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine, a new hidden-object game ("HOG") exclusive from Big Fish Games, I was prepared to give it a solid "A" for its challenging and polished game-play, interesting story, adventure game-like puzzles and outstanding production values. But while these things are true, slowly the flaws of this game began to appear, and as a result lost some -- but not all -- of its appeal."

Pros: Challenging HOG with adventure game-like puzzles. Great minigames. Good stories. Attractive graphics and atmospheric music.

Cons: Some confusing items. Clicking requires too much precision. Most objects unrelated to scene. Can't play as male protagonist. Can't right-click to put inventory items back.

Gamezebo review:

"When it comes to puzzle games, Ice Princess is a solid (no pun intended) offering. If you're not careful, the sun will rise and set before you realize you missed a night's sleep. And because some of the puzzles are so tricky, that might happen more than once before you finally melt the heart of the lovely princess at the end."

Pros: Good puzzle design. Easy controls. Plenty of visual variety.

Cons: Pointless mini-game.

Gamezebo review:

"If you're a fan of the hidden object genre, you'll appreciate Mirror Mirror's smart sense of humor and well-chosen lists of items. The mini-games are so-so, but the story of star-crossed lovers and mysterious mirrors is fun enough to keep you guessing up to the very end."

Pros: Fun sense of humor. Nicely varied item lists.

"While not quite fool’s gold, Jewelleria is a much less glittery version of many other time management games on the market. Perhaps if the developers came up with something new to add to the genre or additional game modes or more polish in the graphical and language department, it would be an interesting casual game, but as it stands now this shop should be closed for maintenance."

Pros: Many levels and store types to play through. Bonus rounds and themed levels a nice touch.

Cons: Just like many other time management games, but worse. Subpar graphics. Spelling and grammar issues. Only one game mode. Customers and store types aren’t very different from one another.

"For people who don't play many adventure games and might find themselves easily frustrated, Avenue Flo is a soft and painless (and polished, and fun) introduction to the genre. But if you already have a few adventure games under your belt then you might find this game a bit too easy, in spite of its considerable charm."

Pros: Clear instructions. Bright and attractive graphics. Charming voice-acting. Nice animation. Challenging mini-games. Fun story. Diverse cast of characters.

Cons: Experienced adventure gamers might resent the extreme hand-holding. Cubicle maze levels can try patience.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars; Average player rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Avenue Flo is a very fun game. The adventure part is easy, but still fun, and the game also includes a separate puzzle mode. This mode is made up of several different logic and other puzzles, and they get very challenging.
