Gamezebo review:

"The Mystery of the Mary Celeste starts strong and finishes with a whimper. The game falls right in the middle of the pack: not the best and not the worst. Its annoyances don't grate as much as some of the problems found in other games. Besides, it's a game for the whole family can play together. The game lives up to its tagline of "ghostly mystery at sea." If you don't mind drawing your own conclusions, then you've probably figured out whether the game warrants a look-see or not."

Pros: Mystery story. Mini-games. Sharp graphics.

Cons: Hard to identify some items. Repetitious. Some lag.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars; Average player rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates is a stunner of a game; the hand-drawn art is beautifully detailed and the pirates themselves each feel like distinct individuals, rather than just The Next Guy On The List. My own sole regret is that the game felt like it was over almost before it began, though that has more to do with how much fun it is to play rather than it genuinely being too short. (But, hey, if the developers would like to make a sequel, I'm not about to complain!)"

Pros: Great sense of humor. Fantastic visuals. Clever spins on object searches.

Cons: Sometimes a bit unclear.

Gamezebo review:

"In short, Becky Brogan: Mystery of Meane Manor just comes across as one of those games where not a whole lot of care or effort was put into its development. In a market that's now completely flooded with hidden object games, there are dozens of examples of games that have better production values and are more enjoyable to play."

Pros: Suitably spooky soundtrack.

Cons: Below par graphics. Tiny, indistinct items. Repetitive.

Gamezebo review:

"If you love three-in-a-row puzzle games and are looking for a well-crafted and highly-addictive one with an Egyptian theme, you won't be disappointed with 7 Wonders of the Ancient World."

Pros: Fun time-waster. Attractive graphics and special effects. Good music.

Cons: Lacks originality. Worker animation is lost since you can't really watch them.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars; Average player rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"A more coherent story and more innovative mini-games would have helped Mystery Chronicles – A Murder Among Friends to better distinguish itself in an extremely crowded genre. As it stands, it's a good hidden object game but does little to stand out."

Pros: Items make sense in the scene. Variety of mini-games. Great music.

Cons: Hints take too long to recharge. Some items small and hard to see. Items repeat. Plot jumps around.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average player rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Aveyond: Gates of Night is the direct follow-up to Aveyond: Lord of Twilight, and the second episode in the new format since Amaranth Games decided to go episodic with its popular casual role-playing game series instead of releasing one giant 50-hour epic. Offering about 10 hours of gameplay, Gates of Night feels more solid and fleshed out than its predecessor and makes for an even more enjoyable adventure."

Pros: Great soundtrack. Can stand alone from first episode, or players can resume from where they left off. New mode of transportation makes it much easier to get around. Greatly expanded world to explore.

Cons: Vague in-game maps.

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars; Average player rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"While tycoon games always have an audience, Flower Stand Tycoon doesn't seem to offer anything special or interesting to the player. The game play also appears open ended, with no real goals outlined for the player other than becoming a "tycoon" as the title infers. There aren't any major twists, the plot is rather minimalist, and the game play can be somewhat predictable."

Pros: Easy to learn. Solid tycoon game mechanics. Good graphics.

Cons: Minimalistic plot. Goals sometimes unclear. Gameplay is somewhat predictable.

No reviews...it's just a slot machine simulation anyway... here is a description of it from the Big Fish website:

The honor of Cleopatra is at stake in this Egyptian-themed slot machine game. Win credits on each of the active paylines when three or more of the same symbol line up. Look for the Ancient Pyramids scatter symbol, which will pay in any position on any line and the Eye of Ra wildcard that will substitute for any other symbol. Defeat the mighty Asp in the Serpent Spins and Ra's Treasure will be yours for the taking!

  • 13 different symbols.
  • Take on a Serpent Spin.
  • Look for wildcard and scatter symbols.

Gamezebo review:

"Overall, this game is somewhat fun, but it doesn't compare to many of the other HOGs available today. For one, many others have integrated the story better with the items you're searching for (e.g. Murder, She Wrote's deeper characters and plotlines) or have made the adventure game-like puzzles a more rewarding experience (Hidden Magic's challenging head-scratchers and awesome mini-games) or have upped the production values (Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove, Hidden Expedition: Devil's Triangle), while Samantha Swift retains its cartoon-like look and lacks the same amount of detail and impressive animation."

Pros: Well-designed HOG. Additional modes and options. Some mini-games. Collect artifacts for the museum.

Cons: Some confusing or irrelevant objects. Can seem too easy. Mini-games aren't too exciting.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Shortcomings aside, Hidden World of Art is a good-looking, great-sounding (loved the music) and fairly beefy game with more than 50 puzzles to solve and should please fans of hidden object games."

Pros: Many twists on hidden object puzzles. Can see famous paintings. Can buy items to decorate your apartment. Soothing and melodic music. Can draw picture on main menu.

Cons: Some confusing objects. No information on artwork available. Can't print your doodles.

"Age of Oracles: Tara's Journey is a long, gorgeous, well-crafted adventure, with beautifully-constructed hidden object levels and creative puzzles. It can feel a bit repetitious at times, but it should please any hidden object fan."

Gamezebo review:

"If you have never played LUXOR, then you'll likely love LUXOR: Anum Rising. It's a great game with excellent graphics and solid gameplay. If you have played the original LUXOR, however, you are likely to fall within one of two camps. Many fans of the original will simply appreciate 88 new levels of foiling those pesky scarabs--best leave a good thing alone. Others, excited by the prospect of a sequel to a great game by a creative developer, may find themselves a bit disappointed."

Pros: Excellent gameplay. Clear interface. Great level design.

Cons: Simply an expansion of the original.

Gamezebo review:

"Somewhere within Haunted Hotel is a good game waiting to get out, but this rushed and sloppy effort could have used a few more months of fine-tweaking before it was released to the game-buying public."

Cons: Poor English. Lacklustre graphics. Technical gaffes.

Gamezebo review:

"What you basically get here is just a re-skin of Elf Bowling 7 1/7: The Last Insult that slaps on a quick story revision, new visual elements and not much else to an existing title in order to make a quick buck. As such, the package is almost more pop culture artifact or gag gift than proper time-waster, offering roughly the same replay value and depth as the average Flash-based outing, or any of its predecessors."

Pros: Controls as well as ever. Jokes amuse at first blush. Fun selection of power-ups. No experience necessary.

Cons: Same game repackaged yet again. Repetitious speech samples. Humor gets old fast. Cheap computer opponents. Little incentive for progression. No major overhauls, play boosts or feature additions.

Gamezebo review:

"Gemsweeper is a refreshingly different (and difficult) game for puzzle fans. It will especially appeal to those who love Minesweeper or other grid games of deduction, such as Sudoku. It does, however, take a good hour or so for it to pick up - but watch out - once it does, it can be one tough puzzler to keep up with."

Pros: Challenging and addictive puzzle game. Thorough tutorial and other game hints. Many levels and two game modes.

Cons: Minor bug that does not allow right mouse-button to become a hammer. Takes a while to really get going, but then can get quite difficult.

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I loved Gemsweeper. One of my favorites. I will take this version of Picross over the Nintendo DS ones any day, since the entire puzzle fits on the screen...no scrolling! Makes it much easier to see what is going on with each puzzle. The game also has a nice style and personality to it.

There's no scrolling in Picross DS if you play with the d-pad and buttons, which I've always done. Much more accurate and comfortable, anyway.

"PlayFirst's DinerTown Detective Agency is a new hidden object game (HOG) with fun deduction elements and many mini-games. If my weekend with this game (and my three kids) is any indication, this downloadable puzzler is worthy if your time -- and mouse-clicking finger."

Pros: Good hidden object puzzler with plenty of game-play. Cute scenarios and locations. Many mini-games and game-play variances. Two game modes. Familiar characters from past PlayFirst time management games.

Cons: Suspect interrogation becomes repetitive. Using the tools in environment not as enjoyable. Some spelling and grammar mistakes.

If you're already a fan of the series, stop reading and get to playing; if you've never played a Samantha Swift game, now's the time to start. Gamezebo review:

"Make no mistake though: Diner Dash can be hard. Even seasoned players find some of the levels shockingly difficult, as online chat rooms attest. But this (and a weak music score) are really the game's only failings; and they're minor. That's why it earned this unusual perfect score - it really is a great game."

Pros: Each level offers distinctively different challenges; Easy to learn, easy to start, challenge to master; Satisfying rewards for meeting each goal; Appropriate comic book-like animation and graphics.

Cons: Can be very difficult; Music/sounds very limited.

Just to note... the Diner Dash series is up to Diner Dash 5: Boom. The game above is the first and when it came out it was pretty special. Now, there are tons of games that have tweaked the formula and improved the production values. It is still a great game, just know that it doesn't have the production values or improvements that some of the newer time management games have...

Gamezebo review:

"More of the same: That’s the immediate impression returning fans will get from Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife, latest in the popular Egyptian-themed action-puzzle series. In an unexpected twist, this installment mostly focuses on peripheral features, adding a cool narrated storyline, roving targets to pursue and collectible artifacts. Therefore, while still impressive in its own right, the game’s nowhere near as much of a leap forward as its immediate predecessor."

Pros: High quality audiovisuals. Polished gameplay. Moving targets. Upgradeable powers. Collectible artifact bonuses. Pleasantly-narrated story sequences.

Cons: Few truly meaningful upgrades. Light on power-up, play mode enhancements. Noticeably recycles graphical assets. Less ambitious than predecessors.

Gamezebo review:

"Love Story: Letters from the Past at least makes an effort with its romantic story, but it's hardly a stand-out in a sea of HOGs that all have similar graphics, settings, and so-so production values."

Pros: Unique older heroine.

Cons: Contrived hidden object searches and scrapbooking sections disrupt story's momentum. Forgettable mini-games. So-so graphics and predictable scenes (living room, garage, front porch, etc.)

Gamezebo review:

"While most time management games tend to be pretty formulaic, Antique Shop adds in other game genre elements to break up that formula, and amazingly it works. I know not everyone is going to see all the addition elements as a bonus, especially considering the amount of time it can take to get to your first destination, but thankfully there is a 60-minute trial version available for those on the fence. I think veterans in the time management genre will love Antique Shop's challenge and hidden object fans will love the chance to check out a new genre."

Pros: Addition of hidden object and adventure game elements. Good length and value for money. Fresh new game elements. Challenging.

Cons: Reaching goals may seem time consuming. Unlabeled clue objects hindering answering riddles. Seemed like the game had to many unnecessary moves added in.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 2.5 out of 5 stars

There was no review of Butterfly Escape on Gamezebo. On Shockwave.com, it got an average player rating of 3.91 out of 5.

Here is the game description from the Big Fish site:
