Did Half Price Books get some shipments of the CoH/CoV bundles?
No, sorry Half Price Books did not get the COH/COV bundles. But they did purchase a couple of thousand minibox of the COV/COH Good vs Evil combo. It hasn't shipped yet, but I'll let you know when if does.

PcGirl.

Damn...no CoH/CoV or anything here in Wisconsin this past week. Hopefully this upcoming week will bring some luck.

The store I work at hasn't gotten any new PC software in a few weeks. We just got a bunch of $3.00 dvds though. A bunch of MGM stuff (Spaceballs Special Edition, Robocop 3, are the only two i remember seeing off the top of my head).

Peeps in the Milpitas area... the one on 237 has a BUNCH of to COV/COH sets... the two packs, the individuals, and I saw of COV big pack.

I was at the BL @ 2429 Military Rd today and they had 1 COV Collectors, 3 COH Collectors and 4 COV/COH combos there. I'm gonna go to the other Buffalo spots next week. I'll keep all informed with what I see.

PCGirl.
Just got both collector's editions of City of Heroes/Villains (Lapeer, MI). It seems like each store gets the same amount- 3x CoH, 4x combined, and 1x CoV sounds about right.
Is this the one that cost a monthly fee? I know I wanted to get it at one time but didn't want to pay monthly fees. Or does this game have a single player game. I enjoyed games like "Freedom Force" but if there is a single player campaign, I'll pick it up.

I'll need to check there because I always wanted Defcon but with each price drop at GS, I wanted it a little cheaper than $19.99, so if it's $6.99 or so...I'll definitely pick a copy up.

Ok, went by my local Big Lots:

12 CoH collectors
8 CoV Collectors
8 Combined

Each are $10. Did the Rollercoaster Tycoon and others. The place had less adventure games and more educational or puzzle games this time around. But I did find "Thief II" and "Mage Knight Apocolypse". These were $6. Did see Psychonauts (tempted but I have it for xbox it already), saw the original "Apprentice" and some others that didn't catch my attention. Saw the Freestyle Basketball (But you can download this for free but without some of the extra clothing the boxed version gives you). No Defcon.
Also, any chance someone can snag a CoH Collector's edition for me? I'll gladly compensate and pay shipping!
Did you get hooked up yet by anyone? Let me know!

You're saying the RCT3's were in stock at your store?

Found lots of CoH/CoV sets at the BL on North Dixie here, but not much else game-wise. There was a decent selection of $3 DVDs, but still nothing great.

I went to the Santa Clarita CA Big Lots today, and this is what they had:

The Apprentice
Oregon Trail 5th Edition
The Longest Journey
Psychonauts
Missing
Hearts of Iron Platinum
plus some other various puzzle games, I can't remember the names.

I ended up getting Psychonauts.

Am I to assume they haven't gotten the new shipments yet? I think these titles were all from the first list that was made.
You're saying the RCT3's were in stock at your store?
I think it was three or maybe not... I just saw the RCT on the bottom with the WOV collector's. I'll have to go back there and check...

At least you got "The Longest Journey" in. Which version was it? I did see "Missing" which I bought for $19 at EB...wish I knew about the PC games at Big Lots earlier. Did see a lot of the Apprentice there.

I'm not sure which version of The Longest Journey it was. The front of the box looked exactly like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Longest.jpg

I was going to get it also, but I have an absolute ton of games I have yet to play. My girlfriend says I have a disease. I wonder if there has been any progress on curing Cagitis.

Just tell her you have no drug problems or cheat on her, so she should really stop picking about every little thing and realize that it could be worse
(Unless, you do those things, then the arguement only applies if she doesnt know that yet ;))

The longest journey is actually a really really good adventure game, if not one of the best. Its strength is not about being funny, but about storytelling.

As usual, the Big Lots in Calexico, California got NOTHING. The games that have been on the shelf for the past six months are STILL THERE. We NEVER get anything. fuck!

On the other hand, I did find Spaceballs Special Edition DVD for three bucks, so it wasn't a total loss.

There is an Eidos load heading to Big Lots, but sadly, it isn't ours. It's a friendly competitor of ours. In the interest of keeping Big Lots' PC rack strong, I'll post the info for you guys. I already know the titles (it's the same ones they had before), so I'll post them below. I'll get the ship date for you soon.

TOMB RAIDER ANGEL OF DARKNESS
TOMB RAIDER II GOLD

Will do! Do you have any current stock lists for Half Price Books? Too many to remember from last visit. Must go and stock up.

Mine had a number of the games listed by pcgirl. They weren't by the other pc games like psychonauts or the dvds. The COV and newer pc games were in a separate aisle.
Our deal is also close with Eidos. Here are the titles heading to BL in May:

25 to Life
Battlestations Midway
Bionicle
Ford Street Racing
Hitman Bloodmoney
Infernal
Just Cause
Kane and Lynch (yes, not a misprint)
Lego Star Wars
Tomb Raider Anniversay.

And yes! Buy the enemy's goods. We need the PC category healthy at BL as a whole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PCGirl.:applause:
Actually, these were the games I was referring to PcGirl. Any word on when they will be shipping to stores? Thanks.
Will do! Do you have any current stock lists for Half Price Books? Too many to remember from last visit. Must go and stock up.
Confirmed now in stores (all minibox):

 • Disciples II Rise of the Elves Gold ($6.00)Iron Warriors T72-Tank Command ($7.98)Civil War: A Nation Divided ($5.98)Carrie the Caregiver ($5.00)Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children ($5.00)Sims Makin’ Magic Expansion Pack ($5.98) Mall Tycoon 3 ($7.98) Battle of Europe ($6.98)Diner Dash 2 $ 9.98Call For Heroes Pompalic Wars ($6.98) Brigade E5 $ 5.00
 • Aladdin Chess Adventures $ 5.00
As discussed, HPB is a little better source for PC game as they ship 6-24 copies per title to each store. But they can be a little more expensive.

The HPB updates will be much more regular now. Can you guys help by letting me know if this is the appropriate place to post them. Is there another spot I should do it in aswell?

Has anyone seen the Eidos shipment or any other newer shipments at Big Lots? I checked my local store for the last two weekends and haven't seen anything new. Is there any other area in the stores that these games are being placed in? I only found a few in the same shelves the DVD and VHS are. On a side-note, I did find a Laser Tag VHS. It was highly tempting for nostalgia purposes:D

As discussed, this shipment is not ours, but I know it hasn't shipped yet. It's a repeat of an earlier order, so you might see a few lingering titles ffrom before. I will definately post when it ships. It's from a friendly competitor.

Thanks for the update, PCGirl!

Should my Big Lots already have received the NCSoft shipment your company sent out? I have been on the lookout for that one for about a month and have not seen it. I figure either I missed it, or my store did not receive it. Do you know if your shipments go to all Big Lots or only select stores?

Thanks again for all the information you post!

I bought Thief at Big Lots two weeks ago when I got the World of Heroes/Villains collector's editions. I purchased the Hitman trilogy last year (from WM) but I guess I'll keep an eye out.

the moment of silence, still life 3, return to mysterious island, broken sword, baldurs ate 2...
wow, I didn't even look at the running list, just the new batch, and I'm already impressed.

It's a shame that I have no real enthusiasm to actually "buy" PC games,though...but maybe I can convince my bro.

I've never looked at games at my big lots, here's hoping they have some left.

You mean Still Life.
It looks like a III b/c the the L's are next to each other in "still" and "life."

Still Life 2 is actually being made by Microids, as we speak.
It's a shame that I have no real enthusiasm to actually "buy" PC games,though...but maybe I can convince my bro.
You SHOULD buy. I can understand $50, but $4-$6 is CHEAP!

Here's what I saw today at Half Price Books (prices are best recollections, so don't sue if wrong!):

Area 51 $10
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory: $4
Defcon $7
Half Life 1 Anthology $10
Marc Ecko: Getting Up: $4
Cuban Missle Crisis: $6
Condemned: Criminal Origins: $10
Infernal: $10
Jericho: Games for Windows Ed. $10
Shadowrun: Games for Windows Ed. $10

Much more of the Nerdcore variety as well, then loads of Edutainment to boot. If I've never played Half-Life 1, is the anthology the way to go? Can I resell when done or does it use Steam (in which case I'd just buy from Valve)?

It's a pain, it requires Steam which has to check up on you every time you play the game. I really got annoyed with it, and found the game glitchy too. I would advise buying an older version.

Offline Mode, people!

I was at Big Lots a few weeks ago and saw that Tomb Raider set for a few bucks. I picked it up to buy it, but someone had opened it and stole the disks. You have to be a super cheap ass bastard to steal a 3 dollar two pack game.

Dollar General already have "Dollar General Market" stores which are "like" a "Super" Walmart/Target/KMart.

It wouldn't retain the setting. In other words, everytime I played the game after a computer restart it went online for verification again.
