Bill Mahers top 15 dickheads of the year

Wow, this comment in the Alberto Gonzales section is frightening.

"How can you be mad at a guy for firing liberals. Then you lefties can have more people to feed. Oh wait you don't actually feed people you want the government to feed them for you. The Christians are the ones running the food banks and shelters. No potatos for fired lefty lawyers spread the word! I can't believe how much crying went on over these firings. The Justice department works for the government if they don't agree with the government they should be fired!"
Isn't it a little late for a 2007 based list?
Yes yes it is. Heh sorry hadnt noticed it was 2007 based list. I was reading an article about the legality of downloading music and it mentioned rolling stone had free music downloads. While I was there I noticed the article...didnt figure it was so old since it was brought up in what I was reading for 2008.

I got confused on page 14 of 15.

I'm not actually a fan of Maher -- just because he goes after people I don't like doesn't mean I agree with the thought process that got him there -- but, shit, that list is great.

I don't think MSI actually read the whole thing. He just saw it, posted it, and high fived himself in the mirror.

Anyway, I like Maher, and I agree with just about all the list, but his captions seem a bit juvenile knowing that Maher is intelligent enough to justify those picks without so many f-bombs and petty insults.
He sure hates Republicans don't he?

At least a real villain like Cho from the Tech shootings was mentioned.
Bill Mahr is the head of what I call the "Politically left comedy triumvirate". It also includes Stephen Colbert and John Stewart. Each with their own special sauce, the message of "Republican bad, Democrat good" is the same.

But to the other two's credit, Bill is the only one that flaunts his Democratic party membership along with the other celebs, and was at their convention (not sure the other two were).

But I admit he can be funny, when he isn't talking about politics or bashing religion (which makes him funny less than half the time).

Well, you know, when you have a Republican president fucking things up, Republican scandals left and right, Republican abuses of power - of course, if you point out the these scandals are overwhelmingly Republican, you're suddenly a partisan hack for not pretending like there are parallel Democrat scandals during this time.

I always thought of Maher as a staunch libertarian as opposed to Democrat.

I don't know, I swear I've seen him talk about being a democrat, and he was at the Democratic convention.

But if what you say was true, then he would have made a lot of fun of Bill Clinton too, which I never saw him do much, but admittedly I didn't watch him regularly.

Exactly Reps like Thrust like to whine that the three of them(and most of the media)is liberal and biased. Yet they ignore the fact that they target people like the Democratic Governor of New York and Mayor of Detroit just as equally. The right just has far more scandals and corruption and is the party in power(and abusing that power more then any president historically). But hey, forget all that....who cares about facts or truth or that they cover both sides of the story.... its so much easier to just say everyone is a biased liberal. Maher is a libertarian though he does have Democratic leanings but everyone ignores that(funny too that many people that hate him love O Riely).

I just think he's a staunch jackass regardless of his views. I put him in the same category as Limbaugh and Boortz in that regard. They just love the sound of their voices.

He was funny in Married with Children though.

Awww, MSI, after all we've been through, you still call me a Republican?

I don't know how many ways I have to spell out for you that I've never been a Republican and can't stand Republicans. But I guess it's clear now that you only see what you want, hear what you want, and believe what you want.

And given the lectures you tried to give me about neutrality, unbiasedness, and open-mindedness, makes you awfully hypocritical.

My tendancies to sometimes defend the Right on some issues doesn't make me any more Republican than your tendencies to spout off liberal propaganda makes you a Democrat.

I'm just saying it's a time thing. It was 2007, so Kwame Kilpatrick wasn't a blip on the radar, nor was Eliot Spitzer. Nor was Bill Clinton.

All I'm saying is that Republicans have occupied the most corruptible positions imaginable since 2000. That's not to say a Democrat would do the sorts of things Bush, Cheney, Abramoff, Gonzalez (and Monica Goodling), Rumseld, etc. have done - but this list can't be any more balanced unless it's forced. Equalling out the attacks over the past few years in the sense of fairness would expose how artificial the list would be, like putting The Bengals in the AFC playoffs "for fairness' sake."

;)

 Damned Bengals.

I missed the days when getting a blowjob in the oval office was the biggest political scandal imaginable... :(
Not that government wasn't enveloped in scandals before then. ;)

I don't know about that - scandals like Teapot Dome and Watergate were just last century, and these were both a little more serious then a bj on the side (but in terms of consequences probably not as bad as Bush W)

He jabs at the democrats a pretty fair amount. He's called out the congress quite a few times. Especially for not stopping funding for the war.

Like your going to get thrust to change his views on something. Hell just look at the way he treats alot of us at the board despite the fact that we too have harsh things to say about many Democrats and Democratic issues.

Maybe I don't see him enough, I admitted that. That's good then, I have more respect for him if that' the case.

Edit:

Seriously. Are you ever going to grow up and insert something useful into the conversation or just stick with personal unfounded attacks? You're seriously starting to reveal yourself as Msut77's possible alt account.
