BCR is weak?

( Personally I think future remakes should use it as the model. I wish the recent Gunstar Heroes rerelease had gotten the BCR treatment, for example.
If it were up to me, Grin would be put on probation as a result of the next-gen BC and devote themselves to doing remakes of old titles from now on.

Finally downloaded Rearmed once I heard the trophy news, might have been a mistake cause the game icon song snippet gets stuck in my head every time I exit to the XMB. Already knew the songs were great but never expected the remixes to be
this great. I need to buy myself the soundtrack...

this is one of the best remakes ive seen in a while.just imagine if they did this with another classic game like castlevannia 3 or ducktales? stil havent beat it yet though but its a fine game to jump into if youre bored. the music is awesome too
I didn't like the music either. MUCH worse than the original IMO.
It's not a terrible remake, and it's quite possible it's the best thing Grin's ever done, but it still doesn't do justice to the original. I think I would have been happier had it not been called a remake.
Just some of my problems: Much of the gameplay was changed, and IMO always for the worst. The lite RPG element's gone, the weapons were changed, typically made lamer, the weapon strategy was gone. The art, while solid, isn't cutting edge for today (and why not 2D?) whereas the original was. Ditto for the music, which just sounds lke someone creating a lame remix of the original. Conrol wasn't half as tight either (and I played the Playstation one that probably controls better).
Some examples of great remakes:
-Resident Evil-Phenomenal graphic update (IMO bigger than what they did NES->Playstation 3, even though it was only jumping one generation instead of FOUR), lengthened gameplay, totally new puzzles that were just as good as the original...but had the side effect of leaving it worthwhile to still play the original.
-Final Fantasy 1 and 2 (Playstation Portable)-Graphics and music are in every respect evocative of the originals, but vastly superior-not easy to pull off. The gameplay was greatly streamlined, and while I think there's some merit to some of the original decisions, overall it plays great. The next games on the DS with their nasty low-tech "looks worse than the originals" 3D art and slow load times were not the way to go.
-Metroid: Zero Mission-not 100% sure I like this better, but it adds new content, much better graphics, and it's still much more faithful than BC: Rearmed is (AND includes the full, original game!) It, like Resident Evil, doesn't replace the original, but is still well worth playing.
-Tomb Raider: Anniversary
-Super Mario Bros. 3 (Gameboy Advance)-not entirely successful due to the different screen shape/size, but the graphics are nicely upgraded without looking like something different, and save capability is very welcome.
Umm...I'm sure there are more too. But to me, this attempt was no more successful than NST's GBC Bionic Commando sequel around the turn of the century. They created something that resembled it but it just didn't play right, and just wasn't as fun, even if it was a fairly good game if not judged next to the original.
I guess I should be thankful they left in the bionic arm at least! After Atlus replacing the fighting mechanic in Y's Book 1 and 2 with a generic "every other action RPG ever made does it this same way" mechanism, I suppose I should be thankful even for that.
Still...21 years later, and no one can update it?
(And after Wanted, Terminator, and Bionic Commando/Rearmed, is Grin in trouble? I mean they seem like nice guys, but they seem vastly over hyped too.)
