It seems like every game is getting a "Limited Edition" hardcover guide these days. Amazon has it for Bioshock 2 for $23.09. That's about their regular rate for these editions so you might want to wait for price drop. The guide is published by Brady Games which might turn some off, but I'm posting it anyway since I might be getting hooked on getting these damn things.

This is what I got from the official site. Apparently it comes with a set of lithographs:

These are backordered on the GS site, so these may actually be rare. I'd get them while you can and while they're still somewhat cheap. Like I said above though, I have one for sale/trade without the lithos if anyone wants one. PM me before I resort to eBay!!!!!!!

Bump. 70 left at Amazon for 25.19. They sold like 22 copies in an hour someone must have grabbed a few haha..

On another note I can see that BOTH of my sets of lithographs are bent at the corners. Anyone else have that problem?

Including the black border area theyre almost as big as the book and it looks like they stick them in there and they got bent when the book was closed on them. Grrr

well I took the bait for one. at 25.19 and free SS shipping it isn't too bad. even if I don't use it much I will have a nice book to page through on the crapper

edit: I guess if you see me selling mine opened on ebay might be a good idea to pass since you know where it will have been lol

Mine arrived today. I received the "Sisters" and "Subject Delta" prints, and while they are beautiful, I personally prefer "1959" and "Mr. Bubbles". If anyone is interested in trading, please shoot me a PM. Thank you!

Got my 2nd one today to replace my other and got the 1959 and Mr. Bubbles prints this time. I'd like to see a pic of the take 2 store versions next to these. Between these, the figures, and the special edition stuff i've got a nice little Bioshock collection going :D

Me too!!!! I love this game, and everything promotional that goes with it.

Alright alright enough already! I caved and ordered one. What really sold me was after seeing some photographs of the book, the cover jacket and book in general look really nice. I even stumbled across some sample pics of the pages and they look pretty nice. I am hoping for the set B lithos for "Mr. Bubbles".

As far as usefulness goes, maybe this will reduce the scare factor while playing through the game :).

Whoa these are going fairly quickly. Maybe they really are limited! There's 64 left. I was going to buy another to hold on to but the $25 price kind sucks.. It's suppose to go down on Amazon, not up!

(I still might cave and order :/)

I don't think these are that limited. Both my local Best Buy's have these, and all of the Gamestops. (Higher price than Amazon, however)

Hate to break it to you, but no, it won't!!!!!
Is Bioshock 2 really even a game that you need a guide for? I mean ... it's a pretty linear experience isn't it? Seeing the book in person, I'd be tempted at $15 to $20 but Amazon keeps playing with the price.
I doubt anyone in this thread "needs" this guide to play the game. It's more about having a beautiful book with lots of great in game photos. Plus the lithos. However, I'm sure the book will come in handy since this game has a lot more endings than the prior one. After a few play-throughs, you may want to consult the guide and figure out how to trigger the remaining endings (unless you want to lame out and view them on youtube). And there are always a few really interested hidden areas that you may not normally find.

I can say that this guide has helped me with many things, including pass codes that would take a while to locate, and would lead me all over levels and back.

I just can't justify the usefulness of this, with a game like Dragon Age or even Mass Effect, an LE guide seems practical and collectible. This just seems potentially collectible, but I grabbed the CE game so I'm good on the whole art book and artistic merit aspect, just don't really see the personal need for this. Though who really knows, it may become more valuable than the CE itself and the lithos are a nice touch, though the ones for sale on the 2k website are probably a better investment without question if you're truly in it for the art. When it comes to more linear games, I'm happy going to Gamefaqs, but that's just me. With that said, it is a nice looking book and at $15 or $16 I'd definitely grab one (and before you laugh and say that's too low, the Mass Effect 2 CE guide dropped to that for a few days after launch).

I imagine its going to be helpful in collecting the audio diaries as well, especially since you can't go back to the other levels.

I actually just got my guide from UPS. I haven't opened it yet, but even the outside looks awesome. Glad to see the price go back down since I had forgotten to change the title the other day, lol.

I just got my guide earlier today too. The cover is indeed really nice- in fact seeing good photos of the cover is what sold me on buying :).

I have "Set A" of the lithos, with "Little Sisters" and "Subject Delta". If anyone is up to trade for Set B, send me a PM. I wanted to get Mr. Bubbles. The corners on my lithos are perfect as they stayed within the pages of the guide during shipping. I expect any traded lithos to be in the same condition.

BTW, if anyone is looking for a sneak peak of what the actual pages of the guide look like:
http://junkiegamer.com/index.php/2010/02/“who’s-the-daddy”-bradygames-bioshock-2-guide-out-now/

has a few example pictures. I finally found the address to that site again I had seen it a long time ago but couldn't find it again.

I just got my litho from Take2:

Nice. I grabbed the original Bioshock "Masquerade" and "Dr. Steinman's Cosmetic Enhancement" lithographs earlier this month. They are beautiful. I love the "1959" lithograph as well, so I know it is only a matter of time before I grab that one as well.

Finally caved and picked up a copy after it showed up in my gold box. Nice guide overall. I like the details for plasmids and weapons as well as the multiplayer weapon stats. The guide also tells you what is in each audio diary which is definitely nice to go back and read through.

Can anyone explain why, according to Amazon, the LE guide has fewer pages than the standard Bioshock 2 guide? For those of you that have the guide, what are your page counts?

Cool ... guess I'll bite, Goldbox dropped it down to $21 and that's low enough for me. Plus it'll be a nice companion piece to the CE if I ever decide to sell them.

I wait for it to be 1 cent. If not, I don't care, I already spend $100 on the CE of the game. Too much already I hope I get that $$$ back someday.
